Deathmatch [DM]

...bla bla bla...ánd:

Deathmatch is the only battle mode where you are allowed to form alliances with other players.

In other battle modes, doing so may result in a punishment of a fine of up to 10% of your Garage.

You're missing the fact some of us depend on teammates, and after leaving CTF to do a DM for a mission it's just chaos.

I might be the one tanker who never does DM because of this, but I feel like DM is just "SHOOT AT EVERYTHING THAT MOVES, TO HELL LOGIC OR MERCY!".

Lol  yeah pretty much. especially if there's a laser coming from it

And this is exactly the attitude that makes playing this game sometimes abhorent. The SPIRIT of what is intended issuperceded by the assinine and weak minded notion that if something can be done, that it's perfectly okay to do it. Fighting, dignity, it's a game, not survival, fight like you have some self respect punks and actually play what is intended. This kind of banter reminds me of all the a**h**** that LOVE Survivor the TV show. Social skillsand what not? Are you srious, contrived and shows no REAL FIGHTING skills. Author of this Thread, you are right, there IS SOMETHING WRONG, and it's people like this person.

Alright, you have your fair say :v

I only play DM when I have a mission for it with a high crystal reward

See?

If they would just give us missions based on what we actually play we would never have this issue.

I wouldn't have to lower myself to DM level stupidity, (We're talking Mammoth-Firebird on Sandbox.) and people would be happy.

But the developers would never do such a complex thing because one: It would take effort to program, but they wouldn't gain any profit so it wouldn't be worth the effort to them. And two: It would make too much sense.

Dear Smooth Operator,

Agreed.  DM should be removed, period, it's stupid, assinine, and lacks any real parallel to anything real wold"ish".  I lament everytime I see that stupid mission come up and I look at my other ones and here are still worse options, or, it has my ever so precious crystals I want (hard to find worse missions, but I have opted for it instead of changing it for another).  I switch turrets and Thunder up in hopes of doing what Swede says, kill steal from a distance.  It tends to work, but even then, it's really a free for all that makes no sense, and as you aptly pointed up, heavy hull is usually necessary, along with a lot of drugs, of which I have or use neither.  I cannot still understand why people even play death match, it is stupid, but yet it prevails, which of course speaks a lot to the minds of the majority of players.  In the end, the higher the IQ, the more in the minority one lies, it's a lonely place, we just ahve to get used to it.

As for them being active about seeing what you do play, well, lets be honest shall we?  They WANT you to havea light to medum hull for fast movement in CTF, and heavy hulls for the knock down drag'em outs of DM, thus you need to spend more money.  IN FACT, when missions were first introduced, it was said, in so many words, but said, in the V_Log, the purpose of the missions was multi-faceted, and one thing they wanted was to push people to map and formats they wouldn't normally play.  Monetization of game play, "You want this carrot rabbit?  Go do this."  Moron will follow, and the rest of us just do what we must.  TDM is fine, I have no issue with it.  DM is just stupid, ruins your D/L rating, forces you to buy equipment you would never buy other wise maybe, and if you want to have any hope of scoring high, you had better buy lots of drugs.

Need I point out most of the DM players are young children?

Half of them don't turn their turret, and the other half are so ridiculously overdrugged they might as well just be at M4 equipment.

I never will understand the point of popularizing it, maybe the people who play it ran out of targets or maybe it's just because of the statistics.

I have an idea: Pit the developers against a drugger with M4 equipment.

And make it a live stream, I want to watch them lose to their creation.

This is a lovely idea.  give defvs a 1000 crys limit per week to purchase supplies for the M3 of their choice and pit them against other M3s in DM.  Well see just how long it's fun after the third game.

Brilliant, in fact, you are.  They need to hire you.  All joking aside though, yeah, would be a different story if they played more often I'm sure.

Yeah...DM players are total nubs... :D

Hmm....lets see. Most DM playing tankers play DM alone.

Sometimes they team up, but most of the times they face the opponent all by themselves.

No team, Isida or whatever to watch your back. It 's only you and your skills against other players.

Yes, drugs are being used, like they also are in most CTF 's isn 't it?

Why do many Tankers dislike DM 's? Because first they simply don 't use the right equipment.

@The-Operator219 you fight with a Vulcan. A pretty useless weapon if you have no team

backing you up. (M3 Vulcan being a huge and OP exception, this one can easily dominate all by itself)

Every Tank that is able to come close to a Vulcan makes a good chance of killing it.

Only in big Maps you will have a chance to make some points.

@FogOfWar_XXX you fight with a Shaft M2. Again a "brilliant" choice in a DM...not really.

Shaft like Vulcan are both weapons that perform at their best with a team that gives them support.

Vulcan and Shaft are both powerful and can deal out a lot of damage: but are also not very

capable in self-defense.

Being capable in self-defense is one of the keys of fighting a good DM.

Another key is situational awareness. In a TDM or CTF you can mostly look forward, because

almost always there 's someone watching your back.

In a DM you constantly have to know where your enemies are in a full circle around you.

This means a lot of camera and turret movement, zooming in and out etc.

Worst turret when it comes to situational awareness: IMO Shaft...

Than you must have adequate driving and with most weapons aiming skills.

And never, never be satisfied, there 's always something to improve.

If you can 't aim well yet, use Firebird (Freeze) in a DM. You can be sloppy with it and still make

a lot of kills.

Adequate driving means that you don 't care if you drive back or forwards. You are always

in control over your Tank.

(if you can 't drive that well use for example a Titan. A great DM hull that can

take some punches)

Another thing that I totally don 't agree with is that you have to use a heavy hull like Titan in a DM.

It depends on your playing style. Even light hulls after a lot of practice can do well.

Though in general I would recommend to choose one of the five medium or heavy hulls in a DM.

And good DM weapons? Most weapons can be used, ofcourse you also have to

choose a Map where your weapon can excell.

As an example: use Twins on a small Map and Railgun only on a large Map...

Best DM weapons imo: Firebird, Smoky, Hammer, Ricochet

Worst DM weapons imo: Shaft and Vulcan (exception Vulcan M3)

DM 's are tough and you have to become a truly allround player to be succesfull in them.

Is DM fun? Depends, my first DM 's were also an awful experience. Like they are for most players.

That might be the main reason DM 's aren 't popular.

But if you stick with them, improve and at a certain point make more kills than you die...you

might start to love them.

I mostly use Hammer, Firebird, and Thunder.

Vulcan is more of something I picked up recently, and I don't even play on this account at the moment. Right now I'm testing my own limits on an alt where I only use Titan-Railgun.

Look at my profile LOS, the Thunder, it's all I use in DM.  Every once in a while I'll enter by accident in one without it equiped and duke it out, but otherwise, it's the only reason why I have another turret, bought it JUST FOR DM.

Try again.

Vulcan was from your (forum)profile.

You use Firebird and Hammer on your alt. so I really don 't see why you couldn 't compete well in a DM.

And besides it 's not that hard to click a DM daily reward away... ;)

As mentioned above: you don 't have to play DM 's if you don 't want to. Just wait for another daily mission.

(the Thunder makes more sense in DM than the Shaft: agreed)

I don't use Marine anymore, I replaced it with Storm.

Probably not, I die a lot.

I'll look for you when you're on sometime, play on YOUR side.  I recall the paint job and combo.  Why rail and Dictator anyways?

XP can rek in kill steals, just make sure you timed your shot right. But Teams in a DM are good if you have an actual friend (aka you have played a few games with them, and you feel as it you know them), but other than that, it is funny to see an m1 go into an m2 battle and ask for team. 1 shot city, here I come.
