Tanki Scene!

 

Hey tankers,

 

We all know that Tanki Online is just a game. It's not very realistic, it's not supposed to be very realistic. However, there's something about words that can captivate the human mind, and cause the imagination to take over. And we all know how immeasurable the imagination is!

 

In this contest, you're going to put your imagination to work, and in turn cause readers to put theirs to work!

 

The task is simple, really. Just come up with a Tanki Online scene, and a map for the scene to take place. Then... put it into words!

 

　

- Entries are to be submitted as a post below

- Entries must be 350 words or less

- Plagiarism will result in disqualification

- Reservation of posts will result in disqualification

- One entry per individual - Multiple entries are not allowed

- Entries must consist of the map name, the scene, and the number of words in the scene. You can find the number of words using wordcounter.net or some other tool.

- A scene title is optional

- Entries will be judged by originality, creativity, and lure

1st place - 35,000 crystals

2nd place - 25,000 crystals

3rd place - 15,000 crystals

Humans... the insensible beasts... At the moment, I am ashamed to be called one of them.

 

I sit in my rusty M3 Hornet. Eight tanks await behind me. I glare into the foggy arena in front of me. Two tanks crash and shoot in the arena, trying desperately to eliminate each other.

 

Every year, thirty random fighters are compelled to duel. This year, I... am one of them.

 

An explosion appears in the arena as the crowd cheers with glee. As I ponder, questioning life, I am suddenly beckoned. In front of my eyes, a heavy, metal gate opens with a heavy squeak. The operator of the gate looks at me, like I'm about to do something minor... Like I'm about to get on a roller coaster, and he's just doing his job. I look away from him in disgust, and proceed into the arena.

 

My surroundings suddenly become louder. The insane crowd yells, boos, curses, and cheers at me and my opponent. I don't understand what has happened to the human race. I don't understand when or how humans became beasts. I don't understand...

 

Right there in front of me, my opponent awaits. The amazing tank specifies zeal; but I wonder who is inside the tank. I wonder what he is thinking. I wonder if he is thinking the same thoughts as I am. I wonder if he approves of the fight, or if he's disgusted. I wonder if he's silently wishing me good luck. I wonder if tears are running down his cheeks. I wonder...

 

I hear a loud, unclear announcement declaring that the fight will start shortly. I position myself in my small, compact Hornet. I realize that my life... my short, brief life, could be over in a few moments.

 

Two yellow, majestic beams of light project into the cold sky, signifying the start of the fight. I brace myself, and swiftly speed forward; battling for the sake of my life.

Greetings, tankers! The newspaper is here with a unique and quirky contest, and a new way to take photographs in Tanki Online. Yes, you read the contest title right - photography using the turret Shaft. Shaft's sniper mode is usually a great tool for causing destruction, but a few weeks back, I was amazed by the amount of customization it can have in use as a camera. Let me explain you the usage of sniper mode in taking beautiful pictures!

 

Procedure* -

• Before starting off, make sure you are using Wasp and Shaft. Why Wasp? It helps you get into all kinds of positions and can fit in small spaces to photograph your subject.
• Go into sniper mode. But how to remove the cross-hairs? No, you don't have to. Just make sure that none of your subject area is interfered into by them i.e. point the cross-hairs or the laser away from the target area.
• Adjust the zoom by using the space bar. Once you are ready, take a screenshot and there you are, you just transformed your sniper scope into a camera!
• Make sure you save both the non-cropped and cropped picture. You will need both to make your entry.
• Upload your entry using photo-sharing websites like Imgur or Tinypic.

*Note - Participants are requested to read the rules thoroughly before making an entry.

Note- Do not forget to submit the image which has the Shaft cross-hairs AND your experience bar! You will get disqualified if you do not!

Advantages -

• You can zoom in our out as required. In a selfie you cannot do that. It is only possible in spectator mode, and somewhat using the new camera update.
• Unlike "mode-less spectator" it does not require you to self-destruct and the subject to time his movements with high accuracy.
• Taking candid battle pictures is generally a hard task unless you have spectator mode. You can be mistaken as a mult or even be removed from battle due to inactivity. But with Shaft, you can pretend that you are playing, and instead take pictures with scope mode.

Rules -

• Participants are allowed to MILDLY edit the pictures and (optional) add a small title. Editing and adding a title will not be considered in the quality of the entry.
• Excessive editing might result in disqualification. Editing or title must not interfere too much with the subject of the picture.
• Entries MUST have two pictures - 1) Picture including the shaft cross-hairs and experience bar, 2) Cropped and edited (opt) picture.
• All entries must be sent to @LordZenith in a private message on forum. Entries through this thread or sent to any other account will NOT be considered.
• Plagiarism is strictly prohibited. So is submitting entries through alternate accounts.
• If more than one entry is submitted through one account, the last entry will be considered as your entry.
• Entries will be judged on the basis of originality, quality and creativity imbued in the picture.
• You are allowed to remove the name of any tank(s) in the picture if you want.
• Pictures without any tanks will also be considered.

Prizes -

 

The prizes are as follows - 30,000 crystals for the winner, 20,000 for the first runner-up and 10,000 crystals for the second runner-up. A certain number of consolation prizes worth 5000 crystals will be given to worthy entries.

Hello and welcome tankers. This contest will test you how well you know a map in two ways:

1)Identifying a map when the image of a certain part of the map is flipped.

2)Identifying a map when the original screenshot was not flipped.

     How to Play:

1.I will be giving you 5 pictures of my tank on 5 different maps in the game.

2.You have to identify these maps (note: The pictures I have provided may not be the original screen shot i.e. the image may have been flipped horizontally). 

3.After identifying these maps you will have to take a screenshot at the places I have taken mine.

Have you ever wondered what the inside of your tank looks like? Well here's your chance to use your imagination and show what's inside.

 

Use any medium and your own creativity to create an image displaying the insides of a Tanki tank or turret of your choosing. Create an image and upload it to Imgur or Imageshack and post it here. The best entries will be chosen for a selection of prizes!

 

Rules:

 

1. Your entry must be your work, not a modification or plagiarism of another image or entry. Plagiarism=disqualification.

2. Your entry must be submitted by the deadline, no exceptions.

3. No reservation.
