Under Review Self Destruct chat command

I have seen many people saying they accidentally pressed delete in the heat of the battle and lose points, flags or sometimes a cool parkour trick.

So my idea is to make self destruct a command rather than a button.

E.g. type /destruct for it to activate.


If thats not possible how about 2x Delete key or long press the delete key for it to activate?

What if they press Delete to self-destruct and press Delete again to cancel the self-destruct?  :rolleyes:

No cancelling self destruct wouldn't make sense

no if you press self-destruct on  accident, or even on purpose, it should ask "Are you sure you want to self-destruct?" (something like that) then it gives a yes or no option. It should be an option because it's always a choice whether you want to self-destruct or not. This game becomes difficult especially when your in the middle of running the flag home. Recently, also, I discovered that if you go to a certain height in battle that you self-destruct. Every time, I ride a mammoth or I come crashing down on another tank, most of the time now I self-destruct. Self-destruct gives us deaths that shouldn't even a appear. It gives us deaths that don't even matter.

There is a different command for MAC's that's what I know. Try checking on wiki, under controls section.

 

 

Bad side of this idea is, that we'd need more time to type a command, than just press a delete.

Try the function button, or "fn" while pressing backspace at the same time. If this doesn't work, try "alt" and backspace

Typing the command may take some tankers a while. Some noobs will not know how to self destruct. This will take too much time to do.

 

Being able to assign a button to self destruct seems like a better idea in my opinion.

But then we would all need to do it, even if we do not want it. With assigning, we can choose if we want to change it or not.

How about Self Destruct not counting as a death? even if we fall out a map by accident.

Players were running off the map when in low health or when trying to escape enemys. Thats why it counts as a death.

Ok, the reason you should be able to cancel self destruct is simply this.

​Say you have a recoiless turret , (isida) and you flip on your side. You punch delete to respawn.

​WELLLLL... during that 10 sec countdown a helpful smoky teammate  knocks you upright with full hp. Isn't it annoying to no longer need to self destruct, but not being able to stop it?
