[Declined] Reward for reporting a person succesfully

Hello,

My idea is that a small reward should be issued to people who report chat violations successfully and correctly in the forum. This would decrease profanity in the game and it will increase the willingness of people to report offenders. Mods already get their rewards in the form of crystals but then why not give a small reward to good tankers who are helping make the game chat cleaner? :D

This has been suggested multiple times before and declined. For few reasons, some being:

1. The process of adding crystals is not an easy matter. It takes time and effort from the admins, which they cannot waste on such matters.
2. You're reporting people so that YOU and other people can enjoy a safer environment in the game without rude and disrespectful people. You shouldn't ask for crystals to do that. If you don't care about what people say or do in the game, then just don't report.
3. This can be abused, people would just use fake accounts to violate the rules and then report themselves with the account they want to pay. So this would increase the number of violations, instead of lowering them.

In that case, I think that a small 50 crystal reward would be good. This would be a waste of time for the people who make fake accounts, to report them. However, it would still encourage people to report. Who would spend time making a new account, ranking it up just to get it banned for a tiny 50 crystal reward? Nobody who is smart, for sure. 

 

It takes time and effort from the admins, but wouldn't it be worth it? People would be reporting frequently and there would definitely be a decrease in violations. (I think.)

 

Yes, we report to make the environment safer. But the good people who go out of their way deserve a reward for their kind act which helps everybody out.

That's the one thing many players don't understand. By reporting violators it's not you doing mods a favour - it's the mods doing YOU a favour by giving you justice and punishing those who offend and insult you. The less reports there are on the forum - the more time moderators can spend working in chats real-time, which is a much more productive use of their time that sitting on the forum processing reports. So yeah, encouraging players to report more is completely opposite of what the chat moderation team wants to achieve.

 

The only exception is serious chat violation like promotion of terrorism, scam links, calls to commit suicide and other extremely vulgar content that is dangerous for the game's reputation and the people playing it. Those things should definitely be reported as much as possible, while in case of smaller violations like swearing and trolling - it's best to just ignore them.

I actually dont report people anymore unless they really get on my nerves, I dont get anything in return and the mod gets paid for sitting on their backside and banning someone from my screenshots so why should I report it   :huh:

Other games all over the world can make coin thing. Whenever player does something, he get paid. Just like moderators do!

We need the same system if its automated or manual.

I down vote this idea very much. The players of Tanki should just be joyful when they report someone because they helped the game become just a bit nicer.

The Mods work their tail ends off so you can enjoy special things in Tanki: The TO Newspaper, removing the hackers, cleaning up the chat, and helping with FB events and contests so you can enjoy crytales. I really think that they should get paid. If Tanki(or the admins, whoever pays them) stoppes paying them, I would get permistion to send them cryitsales from my account.

 Ok. Go, become a mod and try to find a IP address of a ramdom player. I have no XP in the helper field, but I know it is hard.
