[Declined] Pay-per-play: It's the only way!

I'm often faced with the fraustration of players who join a battle only to then leave soon afterwards.  If they are an opponent,  their parting shot is usually something in the order of  "noob" or something that calls into question my parentage!   In order to combat this kind of behaviour, perhaps it would be helpful if a Pay-Then-Play system of battling was introduced to Tanki Online?

One idea might be to introduce a charge of crystals where a fixed amount is deducted upon entry into the battle.  If the player participates in the battle and remains until the end of it, the charge is refunded.  If the player leaves before the end of the battle, the deduction remains.  By introducing such a system of charging crystals for each battle and then refunding them if they participate in the battle then it might go some way to discouraging players from joining and then leaving too soon.

The conclusion every time was that players are free to leave whenever they feel like it, not because they intentionally want to hurt their team, but because life is not expectable. Anything can happen during your game which might lead you to leave the battle, and you don't want to lose crystals because your mom is yelling at you saying "Do your chores!".

Discussed before on several occasions. The conclusion every time was that players are free to leave whenever they feel like it, not because they intentionally want to hurt their team, but because life is not expectable. Anything can happen during your game which might lead you to leave the battle, and you don't want to lose crystals because your mom is yelling at you saying "Do your chores!".

Luckily I have a maid so I don't have to do any.

A nominal amount of crystals, which is refunded providing they stay to battle it out, would surely act as a deterrent to those that think it's fine to hop in and out of battles ...

 

The problem is if 1 or 2 players leave a team it can destroy the battle and more often than not leads to other players on the team dropping out too.

 

If a player drops out of a battle, perhaps then they could be prevented from joining another battle straight away until the one they've left has ended, up to a maximum number of minutes?

Your idea leads to the obvious conclusion that if I have to leave a battle for whatever reason, I will lose crystals (like what lordmostafa mentioned). Regardless of how frustrated you may get by players leaving mid-battle, at the end of the day Tanki is still just a game. Games are played for fun, and if they are too strict players will not like it. I am happy this was declined :P

I know runners are annoying but everybody has the right to leave a battle. What if you have a team full of noobs and you are losing badly? Would you stay until the end or just leave? Leaving would be the wiser option. No one should lose crystals just for leaving a battle.

How often does it happen that you have to leave a battle!  What I'm advocating is charging a nominal amount that is refunded if the battle is played until the end.  It's really not much fun battling it out with a depleted side.

If the team is full of noobs the battle will surely end sooner and the charge will be refunded.  What you seem to be suggesting is exactly what I find annoying about the game: players that leave when they are losing.

i have just reached enought crystals and bought hammer m2!  i have 0 crystals and i have to wait 1 full month to get my money so i can buy crystals and finaly test my hammer m2! What a good idea dude!

Huh, you guys are giving some quite negative feedback. Possibly there could be pay-to-play as well as normal battles, such as the DM tournament in Team Matches

Pros:

- This topic's name has a fun ring to it

 

 

Cons:

- I spent all of my crystals because I was barely able to afford a turret I liked during a sale. Unable to play for rest of my life because I have no fricking crystals left in my balance ._. 

- There goes like 50 000 Players who don't have much time play everyday 

- It's just a really bad idea overall, no offense

- Fails to do what it is supposed to do: get rid of mults. Mults can join and stay till end of battle if you haven't noticed yet. 

- Kids will be unable to get very far in the game and tanki is made for everyone; without discrimination of gender, race, and age. 

- Life is a roller coaster going at blazing speed. You don't know what's gonna cause you to leave the battle. 

- Plus, if noobs join your team it's another reason why they won't leave your team... every thought of that? 

- If a high scoring guy on your team  leaves and then your team is wrecked, you can't blame the high scoring guy. Blame yourself for not being able to support your own team.

- The list goes on and on.
