Let's Discuss Protection Modules

Rails can still kick your butt even if you have 41%, I don't see how 40% would work <_<

40% nullifies the 40% bonus on High caliber Ammo.  If it prevents the one-shot kill it's doing it's job.

With 3 modules I can many times protect vs half my enemy team. With four I could probly always protect vs over half. Thats not a good things

And we don't have have anything to counter protection modules. So I've posted this idea

Since when is 4/8 "more than half"? - ah never mind.  If multiples of one turret - possible.

But with alterations you might have 9 or 10 different turrets to protect against.

And with 4 modules you are likely dropping the %.  No longer 50%...

@wolverine: You observed an unclarified point, well played. Thanks, I will make it clear.

Very rarely does every player on a team of 8 have a unique turret. Usually there are 2 fires, 2-3 mags, hammers, freezes, twins, ricos. With four prots I could theoretically protect vs an entire team if they had only four different turrets among them all. With 3, I can usually deal with at least half

for MM maps,

for medium, long turret user, you need Rail, Smoky, Rico, Hammer

for close range turret user, you need Rail, Fire, Magnum, ? of (rico, hammer, thunder)

I feel, rarely people use module against Isida, Twins, Vulcan, maybe shaft or Freeze.

based on my long play time as a medium and close user, for 4 module, I no long need to change module.

I bought Mine module and mu a bit, rarely use unless sleek for flag in enemy base, but normally you can avoid step on mine using small hull, or kill miner first with hornet overdrive to clean mine field.

by the way, I have all modules,  50% of (rail, thunder, rico, ham, smoke, vulcan, shaft, freeze) 47% of (twin, isida, fire) 42% (magnum, stricker, mine) 0% (gauss)

In the battles I've seen months ago, I saw many enemies using Twins protection and a little less than that using Freeze protection.

And why use Isida, Vulcan and Shaft protection when the others are more common?

Players complain that Thunder's effectiveness in the high-ranks in dwindling, and they would like a buff. However, in the low ranks, they're very powerful and prevalent. I was shocked when I saw more than Thunders on the enemy team. They had 6 Thunders. Six! For it to have so many, Thunder must be either easy to use, very rewarding, or both. If I didn't have Thunder protection, then my Mammoth was as good as done. It shouldn't come as a surprise the number of Thunder protection modules out there.

You forgot the ever-present Rail & Thunder.  Gauss is also currently popular. Add those to your list and viola... ~ 8 different turrets.

I rarely see battles where there are duplicates (or more) of multiple turrets.  Usually there are a minimum of 6 different turrets on 1 team, and not uncommon to see 8 different turrets.  Maybe when there were only 10 turrets or so multiples were more common.  Not now when there are 14 to choose from.

Some exceptions of course on super-small maps like Sandal, or very large ones like highways...

Shaft can one shot you in sniper if you're a medium, and can kill you in just a few seconds with rapid fire mode.

Even against 50% modules (6 in one polygon CP pro battle, no drugs) I achieved first spot with thunder sledgehammer... Sure it may be less with repairs, but it's also true that I can literally 2 shot unprotected medium hulls in under 2s.

This guy is set for life.

Has to be a very old account.  Else how does a Major get 50% Rail protection?

It's odd how these relic accounts crawl out of the woodwork...

Actually - makes no sense.  What Paint back in the day allowed up to 41% Twins + 50% Rail ???

Prodigi gave 50% Railgun protection when fully upgraded.

I can't remember exactly which paints gave the most protections for all turrets since I wasn't at a high enough rank to get those paints far less look at them but I remember that Emerald gave really nice Thunder protection. Perhaps that's why the Bulldozer and Raiden Kit came with the Emerald paint. I remember Irbis giving good Isida protection. Picasso gave great Shaft protection. I remember Cherry giving good Twins and Vulcan protections. Those were the ones at the top of my mind. Kind of hard to remember them all when it was so long ago and I wasn't as attentive to details as I am now.

That player has Emerald, Prodigi and Cherry, which would explain his Thunder, Railgun and Twins protection %.

My account is quite old, too, but I have no 35%+ Modules  :(

I really hope that at least my Railgun Module gets converted to M3 (0/15) when HTML5 is finally released. Because I only gain Crystals from Events and Contests mainly, I hope that I have enough time to at least MU my Grizzly Module to 35% as well

And, yes, even if Buyers will have everything at M3 then: You have to consider that Modules lost in value since the release of the Overdrives

So it is a very old account that obtained Prodigi by Major (or less).

Is a wee bit unfair those accounts were allowed to carry m3 protections forward, while the 4-protection paints were removed...

When the split happened I had original Cherry paint.  My Gismo was stuck with m1 Vulcan module that I could not upgrade.

At least you enjoyed Isida m3 when it could self-heal

I did too, that's why one of my accounts has m3 isida viking. Coupled with electra only other isidas with irbis and m4 could've stopped me.
