Let's Discuss Protection Modules

In my opinion, the Kodiak T-F module, unlocked at First Sergeant, has the best overall protection against turrets, at least at my rank. Railgun is the most used turret in the long run, thunder is pretty dangerous to the light hulls I use, and ricochet protection allows me to maybe (at higher ranks of course, doesn't have enough prot. at my rank) even the odds against enemy ricochets with heavier hulls when attacking.

I mostly play Polygon CP and I already have Rock LGC-60 module. I bought the Rock paint before the update, because I thought it was good to have protection against Twins/ Isida /Freeze/ Hammer.

But now i just don't find protection from Isida M3+ so important. Because Isida M3+ with Double Damage can practically destroy any hull, even Titan M3+. Especially if the enemy team has two or more Isidas.

On the other hand, there is negligible number of enemy Freezes at Polygon CP lately.

So I thought to save for Lion T-A M3 or Ursa T-B M3. Or maybe even Grizly T-G M3

ok tankers

we liked protection modules. but old modules (tht come with paints we purchased) are in our garage . look, old tanki players collect them all . but new starter can not buy them now . is it fair? and look at paint`s new prices . they are too high nuber . in the past guys used to get tiger paint with only 175 000 cry . but now its new price is 500 000 . and doesnt have any protection hh it is awful!...

well, this is a weird update. Players who haven't purchased a paitn like Graffiti or Zeus can no longer do so. If you want to split the paints, put the modules the same as before. Tankers who bought kits with expensive paints just b4 the update are lucky. Now, you have to pay 500K for a paint just for looks, when before, you could have gotten 100% protection with it too? this is a bs update! everyone who agrees like. and quote/multiquote!!! hate this update, for shizzels!!

Overall: I ke it

However, there are some serious problems..

Firstly, the paint price is ridiculous and it is screwing up kits.  I suggest replacing the paint component of the kit with the protection modules.

Also (and this is a problem in general but I notice it especially with the modules)  tankers at medium or higher ranks never had the opportunity to buy the lower modifications, which are more worth their crystals than higher ones. Consequently, they must either gamble and buy then even if unsure of their worth in battle or not spend the extra crystals and be at a disadvantage. My soluthion would be to make equipment available for purchase at any unlocked modification.

Thanks for reading this, and I apologise for not being very concise.

Good point you made.  Pretty much, this update really caters to those players in the NCO ranks (Master Corporal to First Sergeant) the most since all protection modules are at their cheapest prices during those ranks.  Granted, medium-ranked players still save some crystals when buying the M1 and M2 modules of premier modules (i,e, Kodiak T-F, Griffon T-A, etc.).  Still, as much as I want to buy my first triple-protection module, I'm feeling confident with my current legacy modules since I mostly bump into Thunders, Rails, and Shafts.  While I could always get a module with at least Rail and Thunder protection, I'd rather save my crystals for my turrets and hulls.  Hopefully, the Newspaper will make an in-depth review of the new modules describing the best ones for different types of gameplay.

EDIT: DEFINITELY not buying new modules right now since you have to pay for their modifications if you bought an earlier modification, just like with turrets and hulls (gotta pay crystals to upgrade an M1 to its M2 version).  Now sure, M2 triple protection modules (with 25% protection against three weapons) are great to have.  More likely, however, I'll stick to what I originally said: focusing on upgrading hulls and turrets.
