Let's Discuss Protection Modules

We are missing a paint with protection from thunder and hammer together. There is not one in either the double or triple modules.

Currently, these are the two most game dominating turrets. We need protection.

And the reason that those two are NOT put together. If you were from the older generation of players before the disintegration upgrade, you might have had a shot at the only two Legacy paints that had Thunder and Hammer protection combined: Jade and Africa paints

Yup.  You see a Thunder?  Time to equip a Hammer. ;)

I have Jade on my main account, but not on any of the others. Regardless, Jade gets nowhere near 50%, so it's not much help compared to Griffon TA M3+

I am a smoky specialist, and I refuse to grant my skills to hammer while it remains the most OP turret I have seen since Isida with 50% self heal, that would just be unfair.

My main attack weapon is also smoky.

But currently thinking about adding Hammer or Ricco - for maps like Polygon, Noise and Silence where there are lots of corners, ramps and tunnels. Smoky not quite as effective when it's "close-quarters" with lots of ambush points.

The modules are too expensive to buy, there is no 50 discount on modules, hardly you can afford only 1. The buying of hulls and turrets that gives you discount was removed. It is now even harder to buy more modules. I hardly buy 1 modules and cannot buy others. In the game i need more modules to play, because its expensive and no high discount on it made me have less modules. I think the battle fund should be now increased because nearly many items are expensive. Tanki discounts should be 50 all so that you have an idea that you can get it next discount. No proper balance for the game crystals.

Which module is better to have

Railgun, Thunder, Twins or

Firebird, Freeze, Twins ?

I need to know -espicially opinions from those players with high ranks and experience- which one of these turrets compination used more at ranks from Major general and higher??

I like to play in all maps: small, medium, large. I have no specific playing style.

Railgun, Thunder, Twins is better, because they give you a much higher survivability time. (1 more shot is a few more seconds)

Fire, Freeze, Twins is ONLY better if you almost always play small maps.

You will need both eventually - a long-range module and a short-range module.

The first one you should aim for is the one you are dying from most, or vs the weapons you find most annoying (often these are the same).

Rail/Thunder/Shaft  (long)

Smoky/Ricco/Twins (medium)

Fire/Freeze/Hammer (short)

So here's a question:

If I buy an isida module, and if a friendly isida is healing me, will their healing points be affected by the module, or does it only affect enemy isidas that are attacking me?

Only enemy Isida's that are attacking you. It doesn't matter what module you have in your team, the Isida on your team will just keep healing you normally regardless of how many % you have against them. Of course it also depends on how much MU does the Isida in your is and whether he/she is using double damage or not.

I have now M3 (35+) protection from all turrets except freeze. 25 protection from freeze.

Four triple M3 modules... :D Got 2 as contest reward, 1 in kit and bought 1 separately.

That one is the I personally use most of the time, you can still check my profile in TO. The most used one in my garage, really helpful one.

Finally on the market for some new modules. Like others, I'm not finding the ones I want.

In general, for Standard battles, I want:

Hammer

Ricochet

Firebird

*doesnt exist

For Poly CP (Pro battles, usually), I want

Striker

Magnum

Firebird

*also doesn't exist

For *specialty long range maps like Lost Temple, Highways, and Brest, I need

Shaft

Railgun

Magnum

*of course this doesn't exist either

Now that Tanki has 13 turrets, making every triple combination available with the current module mechanics is not possible. I get that. It's almost two thousand modules if I have my math right (13*12*11 = 1716 :o).

At M3 prices, 250k crystals, 125k if we ever get another 50% sale PLUS expensive MUs - I just can't/won't compromise on a module that's 'almost' right.

This inevitably leads me to conclude that Tanki must rework how modules are packaged and sold. Custom triple modules are one way to solve this - when you purchase the module you pick your protections and afterward they CANNOT be changed. This leaves Tanki open to balance changes causing players to buy more modules, same as today. The custom option simply declutters the growing list of modules for sale in the garage. IMO it's a must - it benefits both the game layout and players.

Math is incorrect  :P

Its 13C3 = 13 * 12 * 11 / 6 = 26 * 11 = 286

I think modules are fine the way they are.

Yes you can't have protection against the turrets you want, but the others can't too, so its fair.

Right 214 is not 412 but Fire Rico Freeze and Freeze Rico Fire is.

Damn.

Still - I have to think custom modules would both clean up the garage and draw more crystals out of players. Seems like a win-win to me.

Sometimes it is more fun when you are playing a battle and the enemy team can't take a protection against all your team mates, for example in Island 3 vs 3 so he/she has to choose which 2 Turrets to take protection against among the 3 but if there is a module for everything, simply the enemy team will get that module 35%+ from all 3 enemies. It won't be an easy battle if he/she MU it to 50% which is common thing to see these days so my point is that having protections against every single combination isn't good.

I see your point, but Island 3x3 is a Pro battle, not standard. Fundamental game mechanics shouldn't be built around or restricted by Pro only offerings.

should i get kodiak ta at tankis birthday? i currently have forester lgc and marine lgc

Protection modules are definitely not worth the crystals at your rank.

You can easily reach Lt. General and get your first module from an m3 kit.

Only exception would if you're a full time polygon / arena / noise / island player.

Then fire + twins module is a good buy.
