Chat translator

As many of you know that we face in difficulties to understand other countries languages while it's being spoken in chat/battle. So many players chat in battle with a different kind of language and it's hard for us to know what's they been speaking, for example, when some Russian players try to communicate with us in their language, we don't really understand what are they saying or neither they understand what we really speaking. So my point is that I want to make an "option" for the battle and chat to make their languages translated into English since we are people of En community and make our English translate to their ..since they are Russian community. As we translate any kind of languages using this

- Or it could be a simple symbol that we can use to make every sentence translate one by one.

Everyone really needs the translation option to understand each other..it's been so long I see people making complain about that but it's nowhere to be improved. Please consider about this one more time and make an option for that ))

How about if you hover your mouse over the message you want to be translated, the little description appears. Hover your mouse over next sentence:

Ich spreche deutsch.

But it needs a lot of the work. And how will it translate, using what?

I will be quite happy if this doesn't get implemented.

Too many of teammates stop play and choose to engage in long never-ending name calling games with opposition players in an intense Polygon CP xp/bp battles.

Chat less, focus on the game more.

I agree with this idea. Translators will help us make more friends. I really enjoy chatting in tanki. However, I hope the translator won't be like google translate. It should translate to sentences that make sense  :D

Since the server merged, I can only find Russians chatting in a battle. To make communications easier, why have a translate button that translates Russian to English or vice versa? This would make communicaions much easier for me and my team mates.

As mentioned by tere8, since the server merged it's really necessary. I can't even understand the proposal behind this "great" update -_-.

No, no no no no. We dont need a translator, it would take too much time to translate things, and it wouldnt even be that accurate. This would be a huge amount of work for the devs, and for what? Now russians can swear at their team in english.

Hmm it can be cured if we allow external links to be allowed in battle chats. With all options and even the copy + paste would become easier...

Right Click = the table( or whatever) which pops us with options "profile" etc.

Left click = Using external link like ( search in google, translate in english etc)

Of course you can write essays in the chat and have them translated too, but during a lot of hours I've rarely (!!!) seen someone giving out detailed tactics - and even more rarely having his team listening to him.

There are only a handfull of tactical phrases that are usefull in the game (attack left/right/center, incoming left/right/center, flag left/right/center, all defend/attack). Maybe something to align equipment too (does someone have ... / I will equip..).

I think it's better to collect those and incorporate them as predefined chat lines; that can be easily choosen and sent from some popup menu, and that are displayed in each tankers language. So if I select a command in English, the Russian player will have it displayed in Russian in his GUI.

All ideas that lead the players out of the battle to some translation page, will lead to more mult-like behaviour.

There used to be a software, that runs in the background. When you point your mouse of a word and click the software's hotkey, it "reads" this word and translates it.

And by writing "it reads this word", I really mean it -> it takes something like a mini-screenshot around the mouse pointer, runs a character recognition, and then translates it to your destination language.

Of course this works only with "normal words", and not with acronyms like "gg, wp", or "plz lev".. but it works for normal, written language.

This software is called babylon.. but the last time I used it was quite some while ago.

I have no idea if it is still free, and if it still works like this. A quick check on their homepage told me they have over 1700 dictionaries/libraries and that the download is free. On the other hand it sounds to me like they like to charge later on :P

Tanki online i have an idea that why don't you guys bring an update in which the server can itself translate the language of one tanker (say Russian) to the language of another tanker (say English). The idea of the servers automatic translator came in my mind when i was in a battle and i asked a tanker to take isida but when he replied i came to know that he was German and that their was no way for me to communicate with him

Topic merged

ps:

If you come to meet Germans again, you can write your request like that:

german_player_name -> Isida please

For most turrets the names are very similar in English and German (and for those where they are different, many German players know the English name as well).

Of course this solves only a fraction of your problem.. but maybe it helps you in some cases in the meanwhile.

Many people from different nations join and play tanki together but most commonly russian and players who speak english. I would like an in game translation so that it can allow us to communicate with those players who do not understand each other. P.S - Cedric Debona did tell me that it would take a long time for developers to implement this within the game but since he has left I am assuming the stances have changed.

It would be nice to see something like this as it does encourage communication between the communities. Although, I'm not sure how much work this will require from the developers as they could be working on something more beneficial.
