Battle chat translator

 

For matchmaking battles especially, tanki needs to add some sort of translator (preferably russian/english). As an english player and a minority in tanki, it's entirely impossible to communicate with most of my team, and as this is an online multiplayer game, strategy and communication should be a key part. I think being able to communicate with my team would make battles much more interesting and enjoyable, as it would add an element of planning and strategy into the game rather than the "just go to the enemy's base and start shooting them aimlessly" meta. Sure, we have battle groups, but being able to communicate with only two other people on your team doesn't really help too much (I realize that a lot of players are so arrogant and self absorbed that they won't listen to anything that their team is telling them, but that can't really be fixed).

I hate it when I see my name pop up from the opposition with Russian all around it....what the hell are they saying?  I'd love to see some sort of translation option.

Self-Explanatory... Now a days when we play tanki online majority players type russian and it's impossible to even know what they are talking about or what someone wants from the team.. or what plans are there to destroy enemy team...

 

As we set up the language from the beginning of the game in either English,Russian,Deutsch ETC...

 

IT shouls automatically analyze the chats and translate them into your preferred language...

 

For Example

 

If i meet a russian player he sends me a message I see it in English because I set up my game to English from the start. The In game Translator does this job ... If I reply him Back, I do type it In English but it shows him Russian... In this way, Player can easily communicate with one another and become friends.. Otherwise seeing everyone speaking Russian feels like an Outcast.

Actually Tanki is a Russian based game... it’s a bit normal the principal community is from there.

Some players like to set up a Pro battle in a special format that's not listed, for example Firebird/Wasp-Hornet CTF and invite friends to the battle. Even if this format is in the title of the battle, EN can't read it if in RU and visa versa. A Railgun/Mammoth might join not realizing it was a special format. It would be a lot easier to be able to tell the Railgun/Mammoth to either change combos or leave rather than the battle coming to a halt while teammates push, block, etc., trying to get the point across or the battle ending prematurely by all the players leaving.

 

I've found myself in a similar situation. The title was in RU and I couldn't tell it was a special format, Thunder/Mammoth. I joined with Vulcan/Titan. Teammates were blocking me while the opposing team killed me, over and over. They were chatting in RU, but I couldn't decipher what they were saying. I was a little slow on the draw, but I finally got the idea, apologized and left.

 

But, if you think about it, the Devs knew problems would arise with the language barrier when they merged EN and RU. It didn't matter then and it won't matter now. They don't view it as a priority, so this suggestion will go in the wastebasket, just like the other times it's been suggested.

After playing this game for two years i came with a idea which i think should be inplemented so that this game can become better and understandable. As we know that all servers are combined due to which every tanker around the world can player with other corner country tanker but their is still a problem. We cant understand what they say as we dont know their languages. So their might be a system in tanki which can translate their language automatically. Like if u join in English server and u got a player in ur team from Russian server then what ever he write should convert in English automatically for English community and vice versa. This will increase the idea of understanding. Like google translator do. Convert 1 language to other. This should be applied to all 4 Community. Tankers will be able to understand better ad will get this game in good idea.

 I am looking this post in positive way to help this game :)

I'm not sure if a topic like mine was suggested before, but it doesn't seem like a bad idea having a dictionary only for some of their most frequently used words, and a simple in-game keyboard to be able to effectively communicate with these guys.

Thought it would be great to have chat translations, even if it's just using built-in browser translator. This applying for battle and normal chat, would it be possible? With html5 version it should be easier, since the version is built up of html elements.
