I had this problem on safari and i fixed it by installing an earlier version of flash.  I think the last flash update [at least for safari/mac] is the issue.

How do you get an earlier version?

Me too. Running on a MACBOOKPRO early 2011 w/ INTEL HD GRAPHICS 3000 384 MB. I get "plug-in-failure" and several occasions my computer has shut down and did a restart.  I went to APPLE HELP on the phone and did a screen share w/ techie, reviewing my FLASH(up to date) and other possible problems. None were found. Techie told me to contact tanki for help. By the way I can log into tank-garage and watch videos for main site. Problem only occurs when I enter the game field. In 2-3 seconds black spots/squares start to appear on the gaming field then I get kicked out to a screen w/ "plug-in failure" sign which looks like a button but doesn't work as one; OR my computer restarts. The issues occur w/ SAFARI & FIREFOX. Of note I am having same problem w/ miniclipw website's SOCCER STARS & HOCKEY STARS. I have several tanki accounts and keep track of daily missions; it appears that the problem must have started on the 11th or 12th of SEPTEMBER because my calendar shows those dates being the last when I completed missions. So I haven't played tanki a week now, and don't foresee playing again until tankionline comes up with a solution for me and the 1000s of other gamers. I hope they read these forums and reply to us. OPERA works but lag is horrendous!

2 Stars...If you read earlier in this thread you will see I also have/had this problem and to get around it I now use Google Chrome browser for Tanki and Safari for everything else. Game seems to work exactly as before on Chrome. but Tanki still need to sort it out as any new Mac users will definitely be put off playing the game.

Thanks, Seems to me i have tried CHROME before and it was a wash. I tried OPERA for the first time and it got me in and I could play but W/ SERIOUS LAGGING even after I blocked skybox, chat, etc. I will go back and try Chromes again, later. There MUST be something different that has crept up(not on my part) that has changed to create  the PLUG-IN problems w/ SAFARI/tankionline combo . . . Note: When I started tanki 4 years ago it was on SAFARI browser and it ran perfectly. when that began to falter, as suggested,  I went to FIREFOX and it was brilliant, then lagged horrendously, and the cursor wouldn't take hold so I couldn't chose a battle . . . Then I Tried other browsers-nothing. Came back to SAFARI and it was good again-some lagging and I had to turn off skybox, chat, . . .  but worked fairly well. then on SEPT11/12 the "plug-in" problems began. So . . . something w/ TANKI and FLASH perhaps?? . . . frustrating especially since I finally upgraded to M3 turret and hull on the first account I created 4 years ago, and I want to battle w/ that tank. Of course the download client does not work with MACS.

I keep reading these SAME scenarios over and over the more I investigate. Obviously there is an issue w/ tank/ flash player and not a singular issue w/the  individual computers of the gamers. It would be nice to see some sort of official response from tankionline in response to these queries. Hopefully in the next video on FRIDAY tankionline will respond to the frustrations so many of we dedicated gamers are having. Presently, I feel ignored regarding this issue. I am nearly resigned to having to scrap tankionline altogether. I admit I do not currently purchase crystals however if this were the case I would be investigating a SERVICES NOT RENDERED complaint. Look this is not my intent at all but I really do feel bad for those many who pay a great amount of money for the playtime on tankionline. Let me be clear, tankionline is an extremely enjoyable game! For the most part I have always had brilliant experiences w/ tankionline and would and do recommend to friends and acquaintances. This roadblock has unfortunately invoked great frustrations for me and as I can see other tankers. Even a simple official response of, 'We here at tankionline recognize there is a problem w/ MAC users on tanki and are looking into it" would suffice until problems have been rectified. For those of u w/out problems, continue racking up those XPS and capturing gold boxes. Maybe I will see you in battle soon, lets hope. Cheers.

Same problem on my iMac after Safari made me install Adobe Flash 23.  The gamefield loads, then as soon as my tank appears, I have plugin failure.

Surely they can't expect all Mac users to install new browsers just to play a browser game?

Cause

While it is always recommended using the latest version of Flash Player, sometimes problems are encountered in a new release that were not present in a previous release. If you are unable to work around these problems and they block functionality you rely on, rolling back to a previous version might be required until an update is made available.

Solution

Follow the procedure below to roll back to previous version of flash player.

  1. Uninstall the current version of Flash Player. Here are the instructions.
  2. Install Flash Player 22.0.0.209 package (313 MB).
  3. Extract the zip package.
  4. Open folder named "22_0_r0_209" and run "flashplayer22_0r0_209_mac.dmg". (You will need to close all the browsers to continue installation)
  5. After the installation is complete, open Tanki Online in Safari. If you see this button d1b64c83f2151e0bd699437309518ca8.png, follow the guide here to load Flash Player content without updating it.
  6. Don't update the Flash Player to version 23.0.0.162.

Here is a video guide:

Enjoy the game! :)

@SHOAIB.ZAFAR

Thanks for the little guide!  I too run a Macbook, and I was glad I was able to reinstall Flash Player v.22 to play Tanki normally again!

Thanks, SHOAIB.ZAFAR.  I followed your instructions/solution to the letter. I received several prompts including one prompt that told me to install 10.0.22.87 flash and included a button for a link for FLASH -(PROMPT WAS IN ENGLISH and RUSSIAN-looked like a phishing prompt) Unfortunately the remedy that takes me to fix  "flash-out-of-date" prompt; where player can download flash w/out update, won't allow for me to play w/ any security  updated flash player. At this point I am not prepared to risk playing tankionline if I cannot trust the security of my computer. Looks as though I will have to wait until TANKIONLINE and ADOBE FLASH PLAYER.and APPLE/MAC get it together. Stand alone flash doesn't work. The new tanki x won't work because I have a 3000 graphics card that can't be upgraded. Other browsers don't work-CHROME/FIREFOX.   -- OPERA works but lagging/graphics are terrible. I used to be so happy to settle down to a good game of DM/CP/TDM/orCTF.   :(  I attached 1 suspicious file-the other 2 were plug in failure and flash player out of date which I couldn't upload.
