So tanki spilted 50% from railgun DMG and putted it in to a alt cost 100k ? This mean to buy a complete railgun you need to buy rail gun which cost 96k and its spilted DMG (altretion) which mean 200k ? And railgun nerffed on all of this ? Unfair .

Railgun's damage was reduced by 30% while the reload speed was increased by 30%. It's fine how it is.

You don't need to buy an alt to wreck people with Railgun.

I'm thinking of buying shaft along with its alterations come next sales. For those who own it, any thoughts, are they worth it?

I think the Assault Emmitters alteration will work wonders for you, but I would stay away from the Heavy Capacitors alteration unless you want to just snipe.

Alterations that are not worth it to buy.

Heavy Capacitors- if a shaft with this alteration can't wipe out a heavy hull's (of the same modification) health completely with one full charged shot in sniping mode. [Only exceptions are: if the heavy hull is MUed more than the users shaft, heavy hull has Double armor activated or has shaft protection equipped]

Corrosive mix- only 10% increase in damage for removing the freezing effect.

Can we equip Two alterations together ?

In the last test i bought the two alts for rail and i couldn't equip for them together

Yes, but not two M2 or two M1 alts together.

goku

Yes you can equip 2 alterations at once.

The rico alteration is the only thing that allows it to be playable. It is too weak without it.

Not really rico is good without the long range alt also

But with it you get more range , so you become a Smoky with ricos reload who has Thunders range

I have an M2 Rail with both the faster horizontal tracking and the high-caliber ammo. At first I was not sure if the faster horizontal tracking was worth it but now my turret feels sluggish without it. Having this alteration is a must. You can simply drive past other tanks, whip your turret around and nail them before they have time to think. Sometimes I do miss a really high or low shot because of the minimized auto aim but this can be easily fixed by rocking if you have a lighter hull. Overall I love it even completely ignoring the fact you can get your target lined up faster. I have played tanki for several years and really appreciated the skill of railgun. With the rebalance beginning of this year they changed that and now it finally is back to its former glory. I thought having the alteration would slow down gameplay but it hasn't, instead it drastically increased my k/d just because I was able to get kills easier even though it took longer. It is amazing even though it has the same dps. It just fits my playstyle perfectly. Now for my opinion on some other alterations. The Minus Field Stabilization one for Rico is way overpowered it drives me nuts. I do not use the turret, but as soon as I see that someone has that alteration they become so much more formidable. You can't run, and you can't fight it's stupid. One final thing, I would love it if they made a faster horizontal tracking alteration for Shaft, but more importantly I would love there to be some sort of "Low-caliber ammo" alteration for shaft. One that would decrease damage and reload time kinda like an opposite of the one for railgun. I really enjoyed playing with that turret during the beginning of this year (2017).

HI Friend!  I have both railgun alts as well.  I mostly use railgun and hunter as you know and love this combo!  I hardly ever use the horizontal tracking alt precisely because of the decreased vertical aim.  I found it very useful in Desert, but also found that switching it on and off wasn't helpful between maps as it was like I was playing with a different machine each time, and I can also turn the hull to increase speed of getting on target.  Maybe I will have to reconsider and start incorporating more rocking.  Your post has given me something exciting to think about.  Thanks.  There is probably a ton of potential skill I have not yet tapped into.

It's not just the range.  the speed of each "ball" is increased drastically with 2 improvements...

1) you can hit moving targets more often

2) the total damage is done quicker as each arrives at target faster

I won't play Ricco without the alt equipped. Totally different weapon.

Would like to say that my review of the freeze alt corrosive mix is outdated and no longer reflective of my opinion on the alt as of the recent damage buff on freeze. It's a lot better now imo and I myself am going to go back to using it all the time along with the first alt. I don't know if the topic owner here is still active but if so please remove my review of corrosive mix. Thanks.

In general I think there should be some balance changes regarding the alterations:

  • Twins alts. are too strong. Long range alt. is changing the turret's mechanic too strongly, so the advantages should be rather around +50% or +75%. For the other either the reload or the projectile speed should be reduced a bit, whereas the standard turret should stay the same.
  • Rico M1 too strong (when you see numbers like +100% it is no wonder tbh)
  • Rico M2: not very useful, but don't know what to change...
  • Isida M1: the range cutdown is too strong compared to the benefit
  • Isida M2: damage cutdown should be around -40% or lower, but not at -50%. There are not many occasions when Isida's tank is empty because of healing and moreover it is nearly a waste of time to heal when you only get max. 5 battle points for a healing.
  • Vulcan M2: for long-range though longer overheating time it's rather bad as other turrets perform better (i.e. Rail) in a peek-a-boo mode and for close range though shorter barrel startup and slowdown time it is rather bad as other turrets deal a lot more damage per sec. I think it needs more damage.
  • Heavy capacitors (Shaft's M2 alt) should get at least +5% more damage. For now 3000 + 30% gives you 3900 dmg, which is not enough to kill a heavy hull (up to 4000 hp) with one shot. The charging time is just too long and the general slowness of the alt. is less to make up for the damage boost, it gives. The normal Shaft is already able to kill a medium hull with one shot, so there is no real benefit to get this alt and you lose a lot of flexibility.

The other alterations are more or less fine imho.

I think alteration need some change due to some of them are useless like vulcan alteration. And if shaft can one shot kill heavy tanki without DD, it will become too op. And heavy capacitor actually not that bad.they do well when enemy go attack because 3900 damage is very high since not every heavy hull have that much health remain.it work in mid range, but with long range, it don't work well.

can anybody explain to me the downside of minus-field alteration ?

The negative effect of the M1 Ricochet alteration is the longer reload, which increases the pause between each shot. From my experience, I'd only equip it in medium and long range maps, as the normal Rico performs way better in shorter ranges, as you shoot way faster.
