Let's Discuss Augments

I won't really say so. Remember, you have to get the kill and in matchmaking battles, you usually have help in killing enemies. Now there is also the chance that you used your last shot to hit the enemy and then a ranged turret kills it from afar with one shot and a new enemy is coming towards you. At that point, you're screwed since you need more than a full bar of ammo to actually kill them assuming you are alone at that point.

The way I see it, this should be used as a  means of defence of a point/flag or kill stealing in DM. The fact that there are so many players using ricochet protections ( that are very high too ) discourages me from even considering saving up crystals to buying this alteration. It just isn't worth it for me.

I'm hoping for a major alteration balance change soon and hopefully, it also includes price changes for a lot of alterations, especially the 200k Striker alteration. That isn't as worth it as the "Hunter: Uranium" alteration because it is very hard to time when to trigger the explosion and most times it is done too early and does 1/6th of the damage while the Hunter uranium deals a butt load of damage just for decreased speed.

seems a bit like isida's new alt...really doubt that it makes rico stronger. MFS is the only decent one

true about striker, i feel like the prices of those alts should be swapped around

I'm a sergeant major with M1 freeze, and I bought the high pressure pump. However, the range increase and reduced cone angle don't seem to take effect. This may be a glitch, but am I doing something wrong?

Yea but that "just decreased speed" makes Striker so unwieldy beyond 30m of range its borderline unusable in medium ranges against moving targets. Even the horizontal tracking of the guided rockets becomes so slow that a Medium hull moving parallel to you can avoid the entire salvo.

Yeah, when I can drive away from a rocket, the alteration speed decrease is just too much.

Now I've never experienced this, neither on the test server or real servers. Seeing that austen said the same thing, I'll take your word for it. I still think the price should be increased though.

I am NOT seeing that. Top DM spots are still going to Freeze and Hammer-Duplet.

That Hammer-Duplet alteration is just insane. Even with DA and 50% module, it eats my M4 Viking down to about 5-10% health. Then it reloads quickly  and I’m toast.

Yup - hammer has had a resurgence.  And sure there's a few more strikers than before - but - they are in no way prevalent.

I'm heavily considering saving up crystals to buy the Duplet alteration but I seriously don't want to become a stereotypical Duplet Hammer user. I'm pretty fine with Slugger at the moment. Being the cheapest of the alterations, it still does a fantastic job of giving me consistent damage from afar.

Hammer with the Slugger alteration hasn't help me in DMs these past few weeks, My only kills are kill-steals from barely surviving players, I can't go against an enemy head-on and win. However, these Duplet Hammers are topping the scoreboard in almost every DM battle I go to. Every Legend DM battle the game puts me into, there are at least 5 Duplet Hammers and the occasional High Capacity Drum user.

Another factor that is keeping me from buying it is because I'm sensing that an alteration balance change will happen the day after I buy it and it will make Duplet weaker, therefore (not entirely) wasting my crystals.

Quite true. Even though I don't have it, I've used it on a friend's acc and the slowdown is very very noticable

Are you at least equipping Hammer module when you go into DM battles?

Railgun shell destabilization: I know the max and min damage, but how are the shots distributed? Is the damage, on average, high enough to justify the purchase? Does the alteration increase performance?

Also, with the railgun high caliber alteration... it seems to have been changed recently. Prior to this, the warm-up was the same at 1.1 seconds, and the loading took 50% longer. Now the loading is reduced, but the warm-up increased. I like it...

Yes, I do and it's 36%. In Team battles, there are usually 1-2 hammers on the enemy team and they aren't much of a problem for me.

However, in DM battles, they just swarm every player in the battle. It was somewhat funny and most definitely humiliating but there was this time where 3 Hammers were circling me and trying to see who would get the kill on me instead of killing each other. At that point, I just gave up and stayed still waiting for my humiliating death.

Best alterations:

Thunder - Subcaliber rounds

Vulcan - Shooting speed regulator

Rail - Round Stabilisation, Electromagnetic accelator 'Scout'

Modified Firing Rate?

If so - I have it - crystals invested are wasted.

The ~ 1.5 seconds you save on spin-up in no way compensates for the 25% reduction in damage.

Complete Garbage.

Sledgehammer rounds deserve more recognition. That thing needs a nerf in impact force or maybe a new parameter that puts a range for the impact force. The pro outweighs the con in my experience with it on the test server and my experience being on the receiving end of it on the real servers. M4 Thunders dishing out a shot every 1.61 seconds is already scary enough, we have to deal with constant impact force as well.

But you lose the range aspect, you are vulnerable to firebird, freezes, isidas, twins, and ricochets not to mention you also have to contend with self damage more often.

It might be useful in polygon Cp. But it's quite useless in MM battles.

I've seen it in action in MM battles and also where the enemy team has protection against Thunder. The thing is a beast. The DPM is really good at mid-range; that is what I meant by the pro outweighing the con. It's stupidly annoying to get constantly hit by when you're out in the open. For me, it makes me feel vulnerable.  :(

I'm still not buying it though, not unless the range nerf gets reduced to about 50%

Best alterations:

Railgun-Hyperspace Rounds

If you have M4 Rail, the 1st tank gets 90% damage of standard Rail, the 2nd tank gets 180% damage and the 3rd tank gets 270%. Teammates also count (however, they do not want to sit in front of you like target dummies and get pecked to death by enemy Smokies and Thunders).

On the other hand, how often do you hit 2 tanks in a line? Every 5th or 10th shot? What about 3 tanks in a line? Every 40th or 80th shot?
