I haven't found the need.

Maybe occasionally I have a bit of trouble trying to target a Twins with that constant impact.  But that is not often.

Unless you have a lot of spare crystals I don't think it is worth it.

If you can turn your turret you should be fine without the Alt.

But of course you will need a sturdy hull.

We need alterations for the newest turrets in the game - Striker & Magnum. And I hope they are working on releasing other alterations as well, to make it more fun as the difference means fun (as they said once).

Here's my mini review on the "Unstable Plasma" alteration for Ricochet.

After testing and playing with Ricochet's Unstable Plasma alteration, I've found that the alteration is terrible in CTF if you are in offence (due to self splash damage) but if you stay in defence, it's fine. I've also found that this alteration does really well in CP, TDM and somewhat in DM. I've been able to heavily damage and destroy a group of enemy tanks that are close to each other while capturing a Control Point! I also experienced several situations in where I could've easily used the Ricochet effect against the wall to destroy an enemy tank, but couldn't because of the removed ricochet effect. A good thing is because of the splash damage, you could shoot at the wall where and enemy tank is, and cause damage that way, if you miss the shots or they are slightly hiding from your view. Overall, I like this alteration but it obviously has its cons. Most of the time I probably will not use this alteration, because I almost exclusively play in CTF. But that may change ;)

I would recommend this alteration only to those who use Ricochet very actively, and/or have extra crystals lying around. It's almost not even worth the 100,000 crystals for me personally.

It might even go well with the minus field stabilization alt.

How about they come up with at least one useful alteration for some of the existing turrets.  coughisidacough.

I use the Minus-Field Stabilization very often, and paired with the Unstable Plasma, I must say it goes quite well together.

Guys is plasma core accelerators worth? My plan is stable plasma for small maps and PCA for larger maps or battles with lots of light hulls

No, just get stable plasma alt and then get a turret with a better range, like smoky, shaft, thunder, Vulcan, striker, magnum, railgun.

Some turrets, such as Isida and Vulcan have under powered alterations, but Firebird's makes it super op

You forgot to mention freeze. And well, firebirds m2 alt consumes your energy bar twice as fast.

I originally planned to get m2 firebird when I realized that I have stable plasma alt for my m2 twins, which can play as a melee combatant just as good as firebird can as well as a short ranger. Plus it has a better chance of taking on an entire isida train than the firebird does. Even though the twins will still die long before the isidas do, it will send them reeling for a while, where as firebird will obviously deal no damage to them since the isidas will heal each other back up.

What if it's 3 firebirds vs 3 isidas though... guarantee a bunch of Isidas are dying. If they switch to attack they will die even faster.

You need to compare even odds... 1 vs 1 .... 2 vs 2... etc.

Having 2 isidas vs 2 firebird doesn't give accurate results when testing things out. And sure the isidas might lose to the firebird, but really, it's not as accurate as testing it in different scenarios.

Not sure what you mean by "accurate".  It has to be even numbers or it's not comparable. Of course 2 isidas can beat one tank.

How about 2 hammers equipped with the 5-shot drum. Both are firing at one isida.  Make it 3-on-3 and all 3 fire at the same isida.

See what I'm getting at here?

Try two isida Vikings with 50% protection against fire using the support nanobots alt, healing a Vulcan mammoth that also has 50% protection against fire with or without the modified firing rate alt, facing off against 3 firebird Vikings with 50% protection against Vulcan and isida, and are all using the compact tanks alt. And let's assume that supplies, drop boxes, and overdrive are enabled.

Are you assuming the enemy is targeting the Vulcan?   :o   And they won't need isida protection...

3 vs 3?  So they switch to 3 Rails that have a chance to damage all 3 at once.  Or how about magnum, firebird and a shaft (that can kill a medium hull in one shot).  I don't know many tankers that equip shaft/fire protection. Do you?

The point is stupid teams will find a way to lose. make some changes in equipment and strategy and you can beat these "mythic" isida trains.

By the way, Vulcan's are not great at moving around and shooting, so what kind of train is this?

What if I told you that the Vulcan switched to twins with the stable plasma alt and the firebird don't have any other equipment. Oh and this is in space mode.

My strategy does not change. Gang up on one isida until it dies. Then the other.

It works - look at my K/D - largely due to a lot of hours playing Isida - public enemy #1 in many battles.

I haven't done any research bur why would you buy freeze + corrosive mix when you can just buy firebird? Besides I'm sure isida does more damage than freeze corrosive mix alteration. Freeze is even worse now with crappy alteration.

P.S If anyone owns this alt please tell me because I may be wrong completely about this alt.

I didn't have the alteration before but in the last sale I got it and I must say it realllllyyy is worth it! I mean some people or players might buy Freeze just for the freezing effect which is what Freeze is known for but I beg to differ. I know Freeze is really good weapon and taking out the only thing it is known for which is the freezing effect will kinda ruin it and freeze will not be the same as before but oh boy, you are wrong. The extra or overall damage you gain by using that alteration is worth it. It does say 10% but imagine having M4 freeze combined with that, who cares about freezing as long as you get to kill 10 players in a row in CP or even other battle modes depending on what protection they have, of course. If you want to make the alteration worth it, I would recommend you to get the other alteration for freeze, High Pressure Pump. With these 2 alterations combined, I bet you will need anything else. Your freezing effect range will be expanded to 100% and on top of that, you dealing 10% more damage than the damage you normally do. So in this case, no matter how close the enemy is or how far the enemy is, your freezing range is sooo long so you don't have to try and get close to the enemy. I tested it and in Hill or Island, you can cover the entire map depending on where you facing.

Whoa! But isn't it just better to buy firebird + high pressure pump? Because I'm sure firebird has a higher dps compared to freeze corrosive mix.

Are developers planning to add Magnum and Striker alterations too?

*recommend minus field stabilization alteration. I am using it all the time when playing with ricochet.

That is, until the isidas equip twins with stable plasma alt and mammoth and go wreck the firebirds with compact tanks alt and Vikings.

You are making this discussion go off topic. All I said was that firebirds compact tanks alt isn't really that OP like most people think.
