Preventing M3s at Extremely Low Ranks

 Share

Recommended Posts

As a Warrant Officer 4, I've encountered the experience of facing off against a 50/50 M2. There are people who buy M2 kits at lieutenant or even as low as my rank who have enough crystals (probably from real currency purchases) to upgrade their weapons to M3. Even worse, some buy enough to upgrade their hulls to M3. Some people deny this but you can find out simply by pressing V. It's a bit annoying when you have a full-on M3 on the enemy team or in a DM just obliterating the M0/M1 competition, especially if he is a full-on drugger (most of them are). The scariest thing in battles at my rank is facing people a bit higher rank than you already with M3 equipment.  I know Tanki may disregard this since this is against the buying crystals system, but can you have some restriction on level of equipment in battles at the boundaries of modification levels (such as my rank, at WO4 there is a mix of M0 to M2)? Thanks!

EDIT: Also I believe I have posted this in the wrong forum.

Yes, you have posted in wrong section :p This section is reserved for technical issues only, sorry.

Also.... try playing at lower rank battles or just run from M3s, they can't be common tbh, since they need to be hardcore buyers or pro contest winners. I really don't think they can have a restriction, I'm afraid. But seriously, M3s at a rank where even a single M2 hasn't properly unlocked is madness. I'm afraid nothing can really be done tbh, sorry :(

There's another idea about restricting MU steps for rank...so only after a certain rank do you unlock the second 10 steps, then you have to rank up once more for steps 20-30, and so on, which would prevent Fully MU'd equipment at low ranks.

Such as this guy...

DJroeGD.png?2But, I mean, there will never be a good solution. Moving M2 kits to a higher rank means that gameplay will become boring for lower ranks, which means that less people will continue up the rank ladder.

This should be moved to I&S.

But, I do really agree on implementing this system. It can be like a rank range and a MU range. For example, in a WO3 to Third Lt battle, maximum MU limit should be 20 at the max. Lt Col to Legend should be 30. General to Legend should be 50/50.

People paid for that, so they have the right to be OP.

Too bad.

Most of them they are usually from some alt raiding party.. and probably Russian too due to lowest crystal prices. If 3-4 of these comes in + drugging, it's GGWP.

Personally, I agree. Although it's unfair, I think that TO does have the right to give buyers an advantage... and worst comes to worse, if there're several of them, leave the battle.

I think this should be found in the Ideas and suggestions topic.

Mods you could move it?

Also thanks guys, so many responses! On one note, I believe that people like M2 buyers have the right to invest real money on Tanki, but it might be a bad choice for them if they want to continue on (our) level. Personally, I would just leave if I met one of those M3 Dicto/Rail people, and if many Warrant Officers/Liutenants like me think this way, then these types of buyers would have to end up just trying again, so they (possibly?) have a harder time moving up the ranks or getting battle funds since no one wants to see them. The proposed system would protect these players if this is the case, maybe give them higher rank battles. After all, they paid lots of cash, they should be useful in battle.

So I think the problem is not to prevent buying, it's to let these people play more on M2 battles, since on M1 battles the game is ruined.

I think the best solution is the one that TX has now... They use how many Masteries you have with a turret/hull, then place you in a similar battle. If you're above the mastery level, they lower the mastery level to make you fit in. I would hate this solution in TO though, because kits would be useless. I think that considering the small amount of players who actually have M3s at WO5, it'd be fine.

Once upon a merry time I was pwning noobs with tsunami kit at the rank of First Sergeant ( mini_9.png ) and then a very mean Warrant officer 2 (mini_12.png) shows up completely MUed M2 Freeze, completely MUed M1 Hunter, and completely MUed M2 Orka D-A M2 and lets say about... 5K DRUGS and basically, this guy took out all the fun he killed M0 wasps within less than a second, and at this time freeze still had a damage pool, so lets say about 3 wasps per second, M3'S vs. M0's sounds very fair and fun.

The problem is

1. Buyers can get way too OP

2. They have to pay way too much to be OP

Well, they do ruin the fun

Also, @Topic owner, I have an M3 Thunder and I can make a battle down pretty low XD

Not M2 MUed, M3, plain M3.

Well, you can clearly see that he is General rank so its obvious that he is gonna have m2s.

You can still play on maps with no Upgrade.

Play with ranks that are similar to yours
