Im using it where my vulcan is not so good . I got medium long range weapon who fits me most and the striker is indeed furious in short to medium range . Made a absolute killing yesterday on the Halloween map on 1 time even 5 kills same time ( i saw my chance to hit a good target with a full arsenal rockets , which is rare ) .

Be careful guys (and girls of course) if you purchase something because it's sooooo obviously overpowered. Those are usually the first things that are tweaked (like Vulcans burning and Smokys autocannon were nerfed already).

Good luck on your choises :)

that's exactly why I haven't bought them yet.

I bought the alt today , the slow rocket speed makes it impossible to hit targets in long ranges - and makes it incredibly hard to hit targets in medium range

but in close range combat , it's a monster indeed

well , i guess it's gonna receive a nerf pretty soon , but I hope not .

Heh, played in a Polygon CP Pro battle and there was an M4 striker Mammoth with the Uranium Rocket alt and he got a kill almost everytime he shot into the centre when my team were trying to cap. For maps like Polygon, it can be a beast.

It needs a small increase in reload time, like seriously, who uses striker for long range  (and by long range, I mean shooting from one base to another in a map like Highways) purposes only? Sure they are slow but at short to mid ranges in no supply battles, It's a bit on the too powerful side. But what's the solution for that? Disable alterations when making pro battles.

I'm gonna assume that it's gonna be nerfed in the next alteration balance changes.

What happens if you equip Striker protection?

Plan on buying that when we have a decent sale  :(

My m3 striker was still able to kill a few people with protection. 35+ not so much but still does tons of damage.

True.

Alterations have made many turrets more dangerous now.  Striker no longer the "weak sister" of the bunch and can actually make a difference now.  No "free-passes" anymore - most turrets you face are a threat.

Well - except for the way they keep ruining Vulcan.  Give it some kind off buff - then wreck something else on it...

I really hate fire based alterations, Vulcan just needs to get rid of the spin-up time. No weapon manufacturer would make a minigun with such a massive spin-up time anyway, it's impractical.

Striker's alterations are superb, it can cover a wide range of playstyles that suit attackers and defenders. And there's no stupid fire alteration to overpower any of its rigged stock features. The stock Striker isn't bad either though.

For anyone that has the uranium alteration, I have a question:

Does it affect the tap mode, salvo mode, or both?

both

keep in mind that if you buy it , it's impossible to hit targets at long range and hard to hit moving targets at medium range , just saying .

with the introduction of the new striker it is very powerful, most likely this will shape new tactics,it will be far more difficult using a mammoth or titan to attack because its vulnerable to a full barrage of missiles rendering those tanks to play more of a defensive role as long as its hiding near a wall so they can avoid the incoming missiles. the splash could clear a good group of attacker/defense. the only downside I can think of is that the projectiles may be avoided by fast tanks and the lock on system can be deactivated once off target, so knocking off aim will be very useful to get out of its sights only for it to lock on you again. but in my opinion its more of a weapon to take out stationary targets from afar such as flag sitters, to get the most from the turret using its barrage.

even the slowest tank can escape its slow locking system. in fact justice has not been done to striker

i think striker is very weak,,, any map its hard to lock on the target because it takes too long and the slowest mammoth can evade from its target. the weakest of all the turrets. if u dont believe the devs need to try or even challenge me in any map...

developers please revisit striker, it is too slow to lock on a target, it is harder to hit the target (as compared to all other turrets), in any map other turrets have advantage over striker. m3 striker vs any m2 turrets, any other turrets have advantage over striker at present. please no biases.. many dont use striker because its weak, and they are not threatened by it much in battlefields.. if many use striker there will be lots of complain about it. sincere justice be done to the turret. 99 percent of the striker users in battlefields will not be on the top ot the ranking which otherwise 40percent among those 99 percent have the chance of being at the top of the score. im trying to logically explain though my explanation may not be that good, striker is still the weakest of all turrets as per the advantages other turrets have. though one might say it depends on the player, generally speaking striker vs shaft,, shaft is better, striker vs thunder, thunder has the advantage, striker vs rail, or rico or any other turrets, other turrets have more advantages if you really play instead of just calculating the possible advantages.

Generally speaking, Striker's full effectiveness in battle doesn't come from locking onto targets and firing salvos all day long.  Certainly, one has to account for obstacles when firing rockets at foes, but most importantly, mastering the use of solo rockets is key for Striker's success.  This is no Smoky or Thunder, as Striker's rockets fire from each side of the turret rather than dead-on center.  It's kinda like Twins but with rockets and a slower reload time.

Anyways, learning the quirks of Striker is undoubtedly harder than just firing a Smoky or Thunder, and for some, that's a turn off.  However, should one really master Striker, one will not only be able to deal as much damage as a Thunder but also, in the right occasions like facing slow heavy tanks, be able to quickly decimate or severely injure tanks caught in the salvo attack.

You're not supposed to use the lock on all the time. The only exception would be in highways Cp when you're camping on the highest ledge in your teams base targeting the enemies that try to capture the bridge points.
