INTRODUCTION: So here I am 17 year old, about to finish my high school, I live in India.I am obsessed of being a successful man in my life about 3-5 years from now, i don't wanna be just another average guy going to college trying to get some degree and later work @ a 9-5 job. I hate that life. Me as a 17 year old,i have brainstormed many startup and business ideas which when put into work will have a massive potential. I have done lot of surveys and asked many people about what if there is a product or service which can solve this particular problem of yours.. They answered me and the response was pretty great and I got some hope that my ideas are worth putting into action. I have thought about 106 different business/startup ideas since I was 14 years.

PRESENT: Now im no longer interested in studies and getting a degree, in about 4-6 months I must pick a college and a degree and peruse it for about 4-6 years,i don't like the educational system at all. I really wanna spend my time reading books, gaining as much as knowledge I can and bring my ideas into execution and start working on them.

PROBLEM: I wanna open up to my parents and say that I don't wanna do higher education, mom&dad how much ever the amount your willing to spend on me for next 4-6 years for my education.. please give it to me and im a return it to you with massive interest rates,i wanna spend my first 2 years learning courses, reading books, attending workshops, investing in myself and traveling to america where I have really good connections with public figures like - caleb maddix, mattmaddix, ryanOdonnel,GrantCardone, etcetera and I wanna meet mentors and talk to them and read their books, then in the next 3-5 years I wanna startup business and become a successful man who is only addicted to success, ill either win or learn ill never Lose.

MY RESEARCH AND MORE INFORMATION: The journey to the exception life is not at all easy, you need to hustle a lot. And yes I wanna/i am ready to hustle what ever it takes because i don't wanna be that guy like my dad going to work @ 9 n coming home @5 all in all leading an average life. I am ready to fail as many times as possible and as fast as possible so that i can learn and get up fast.

Please help me I'm in dilemma and many are like me out there. Please help me guys.

And can you guys please leave any external advice like, your advice on life/business/growing up/what lessons you have learnt. And also please recommend me a book to read on categories like-entrepreneurship,startups,life,hardwork/smartwork. (not these books: Rich dad poor dad, think and grow rich,Intelligent investor, the alchemist ive already these)

And one more thing:

let me cover one more thing about me,which I forgot. I don't have any financial problems, ive been into the stock market since age 14 and ive actually made a lot. I took a small loan of around $1200 and turned it into $72000 portfolio. I've helped My moms startup (fashion brand,i don't intend to tell what it is about, currently moms startup is going viral and there is a lot of demand form customers),ive helped my dads boss's startup in programming, suggestion, cybersecurity (its online platform for students...) ive helped my cousin brothers startup to market and meet people.

My dad also has personal connections with John Doerr a big Venture Capitalist who has invested ton loads in google, amazon and this list: https://www.crunchba...err/investments

I just don't know how do I build up the courage to go and tell my parents. And Torva-Messor u seem serious on helping teens like me,thanks a lot. And guys please check out my instagram account u'll understand about me more of what type of guy im : https://www.instagra...hildrake/?hl=en

best thing to do is sit down and talk to your parents .. tell them what your plans are .. they should encourage u on your dreams ..

some times u do have to go into the work force to build up the money for collage or university ..

so if u want it it will happen .. give it time and work and stride for it

good luck

There's really no easy way out of it except to talk face-to-face with your parents about it.

Of course, we have no way of knowing what they are actually like, so depending on the situation, you may not get the answer you really want.

However, as frozen said, if your parents have supported you all the way here, they should therefore be able to support you the rest of your path. Essentially, my advice would be to go 100% for your goal if you have your parents' permission, and if not, suck it up and go 100% for your goal anyways. Best of luck.

Um, a couple of questions...  Don't answer them here, but think about them!  Do you have the capital and/or the connections to act on your startup ideas?  College is often a very important source of connections, in spite of the fact that they're often realized after graduation.  Do you have the technical knowledge to bring your idea into production, commerce, or policy?  It's not enough to have an idea.  College is once place to learn the language, and gain experience with the forums you must use to get assistance, investors, and employees.....

If you are anxious about communicating with your parents, then maybe they feel you are not serious about your plans towards your prospects. You know, young persons often feel that their parents view them in a particular way, just based upon comments that they have made during the course of their interactions. I think you will be surprised when your parents see that you have taken the initiative to speak with them in an adult manner. As a result, they might be more receptive to your plans.

Education is the best thing bro...

First finish this education THEN do whatever you want.

SEE you're 17 years old, 17+6=23 years!

There are lots of years to become a scholar, hitler, tanki admin or whatever you want!

Many scholars became great dudes at the age of 40+!

Your parents know more than you dude, I say, stick to the current routine or you may(or may not) find yourself washing a vehicle.

Thanks.

Instead of thinking of all these ideas, why didn't you act upon them or start working in that direction before graduating from high school? It's during this period your parents would have realized your true potential. But that time has passed. So far, you have shown your parents nothing. (or that's what I assume).

Here's my take on it. I'm a parent of a child much older than you. However, if he came to me at 17 years old and informed me that he didn't want to go to college, but instead, start up his own business, I'd have to ask a lot of questions to determine how thoroughly his plan was thought out. If he came to me and told me that he had been thinking about this since he was 14 years old and has come up with 106 different ideas, talked to some people about their problems, got some positive feedback and that's what I want to do.

Here are some questions I would ask him:

1...What type of business venture are you looking at?

2...You said if I gave you the money I had intended to spend on your education, you would pay it back. What guarantee do I have that you could pay it back?

3...You said you won't fail. Failure is a part of life. Everyone fails sooner or later. So, if your first business venture doesn't work out, then how many of those 106 ideas will you have to go through before you find something that works? There is a limit to the money.

4...It takes at least 5 years before a business starts showing it's full potential and realizing a small profit. How do you intend to support yourself during that time? Are you going to be that 30 year old guy, still living at home, still being supported by his parents, while you are still trying to find your niche in life?

5...You said you want to go to the USA to "talk" to people. Will you be coming back home? If so, when? Where are you going to stay? How will you take care of yourself? That college money goes just so far.

6...What's your back up plan? A lot more businesses fail than become successful. How many businesses will you try and fail before you finally give up in frustration? The money is already spent. Now what? All you have is a high school education. How far do you think that's going to get you?

7...Since you have no idea what it is you're going to do, then it's obvious you haven't done any marketing research. So, you don't know if you are going to market your idea in reality or in virtual reality (aka: online marketing).

Well, the questions are almost boundless, but I think you get the idea. At this point, you have no market, you have no plan, no back up plan, no education to fall back on, no money, except what's in your college fund. With the trip to the US, living expenses while your there and starting up a business, that money is spent before you even get started. All you have to bring to the table is 106 ideas.

Sure, you may have heard or read about someone that started a very successful business with only a dollar in his pocket and is now a billionaire. But what they don't tell you is that they had investors lined up who were willing to finance the business venture. And, sure, you may have heard about a child that had an idea and now that idea is a multi-billion dollar business. But do you know why you hard or read about them? Because it's highly unusual, not the way things normally go. It's all a matter of luck, being in the right place at the right time, talking to someone who believed in you.

Personally, I don't think you have thought this through very well, or not as well as you think you have. Are you going to sell a product or invent a product? You may have talked to a one or two people who would buy your product, but one or two people does not make a business that is going to pay the bills, put food on the table, support a wife and children. pay the taxes not only yours, but those of the business, too.

Your Dad has a 9 to 5 job because he knows that at the end of the month, he's going to get a paycheck. That very paycheck that gave you all the things you needed and wanted as you grew up from an infant. The very paycheck that was going to send you to college so you can have a good start in life. Something you can use to get you that good paying job.

I don't know your financial situation. Maybe your parents have bottomless money bags. I do know this, your parents love you very much and want nothing but the best for you. They want you to be successful in life. To have a good job, a good home and all the nice things that go with it. They have sacrificed themselves so you won't fail. Don't throw that love away. Make your parents proud of you and your accomplishments. Make your parents say, "See that young man over there? He's my son and I'm very proud of him. He will go far in this world."

I'm not trying to discourage you, your creativity, your ideas and dreams. All I'm trying to do is get you think a lot further down the road, than you have. My advice to you is to get that education, it may be the last chance you have. Get a 9-5 job, put some money away in bank. Give this idea of yours a lot more thought. Have a plan, a viable plan, one that works. I know that's not what you want, but life is full of things we don't want, but have to accept. You're young, you have a whole life time ahead of you. Don't throw it away. Please.

You wanted advice. well that's mine. Take it or leave it.

^ wow this guy has alot of free time on his hand.

This young man asked for some advice. As an adult, I gave it to him. Instead of criticizing me, why not help him? Yes, it's lengthy, but he is about to make a move that will affect him for the rest of his life. That is nothing that can be said in a couple sentences. I didn't think he gave this move enough thought. I tried to give him some direction. What did you give him?

Same goes for you. What sound advice did you give him?

I gave him a short concise and wise answer.

first secure a good source of income , then tell them you are droping out weather they like it or not

Will not matter if you have a good source of income.

 Ambiguous at best. "Good" advice in a nutshell. Here's what you advised him, "First secure a good source of income. Well, it really doesn't matter whether you have a good source of income. Just drop out of school and defy your parents." (In a nutshell? "Yea me, to hell with them.") Very good advice.

If the sentence securing a good source of income is ambiguous for you then nothing is

Obvious to you, even the sun !!!!.

That in itself is good advice. But that isn't all you said. You have taken your first sentence out of context. In fact, you have completely ignored the rest of the advice. First you tell him to secure a good source of income. Then you tell him it doesn't matter. After that you tell him to defy his parents. Do you really think that when he reads your post he will stop at the first sentence?

Honestly, just get through high school. I'd presume you know that a high level of education allows for greater stability in life. You said you're reading to hustle and fall down a lot, but you can't always get back up if you don't have the resources. And once you've run out of resources you will wish you didn't drop out. Just complete High School and get a college degree. You don't have to like the job, but you need the job to make money to survive.
