Penalise team-kill in friendly fire mode like self-destruct

I like the idea. I've had some unpleasant experiences on my alts in battles with friendly fire activated and this may be exactly what we need to prevent people from killing teammates for "fun". However, there are cases in which killing your teammate is a better option but I suppose there are still players that are mature enough to sacrifice 1 or 2 kills and few points for the good of their team.

If you're getting penalized on shooting your teammates, why is there a 'Friendly Fire' option in the first place?

Definitely agree. I remember playing a Noise CTF and a sabotager joined our team and kept killing us. I reported it to Game Violations but they gave me that "Unfortunately, your proof is not sufficient to take action" ​crap as usual.

Yes, I know. I have seen too many sabotages, but simply try to avoid FF battles. There is no need to get annoyed, because your teammate is killing you.

( I know you talk about removal, while I merge you into a topic for penalization of teamkills.. but as we don't accept ideas to bring back a former status of the game, that's your chance to go for)

Friendly fire was an option, they removed it. Didnt they break their own rule by adding it back?

The rule applies for the players, to protect the forum from a flood of topics, that argument against a new feature that is

1) is settled

2) which results will be now watched over a period of time

In the meanwhile you can discuss that in the associated news thread where it was announced.

 

If for some reasons the dev's think they were wrong later on; or if the surrounding environment changes and so an old feature can be introduced again, then the they can reintroduce it again.

 

 

Do you think this is unfair?

Well.. let's say.. it truely makes more sense, if the decision power should not be in the hands of the masses, but in the hands of the knowledgable experts.

Imagine a vote like "constantly increase battle funds by +1000%" -> most players will vote for it. But you can bet, that 6 months later this game can not sustain any more (no income, too high costs) and will be closed down.

 

Experts does not mean tanki employees.. even some players could be real experts over time. If you like to discuss now, who knows more, and who is an expert, count me out of this discussion ;) ;) ;)

I know that more xp for less crystals are bad. You know it, many know it.

But far more don't know that.. and they will start to abuse that in order to rank faster (you might remember how well the score multiplier passes sold..).

 

but you can skip the additional XP if you increase the crystal penalty even more :P

Some try to rank up when they want to get something on sales.

 

How about the Battle EXP idea, with the crystal punishment and when your battle EXP goes below a certain point you'll be removed from battle.

 

The Battle EXP will count up like normal when you hit or kill enemies, but it will count down when you hit or kill team mates to negative numbers.

 

The crystals you earned will be reduced to zero as well. Or they can go further to make you lose crystals from account.

We have had friendly fire for some time now, and if I remember right I even suggested friendly fire be added, it got declined and then not even two weeks later it was added lol. 

Anyways, battles are getting more advance, and so are the tactics, so why not make it challenging? 

Normally overdrive activated around team-mates gives team-mates the same effects, but why not in a friendly fire enabled battle have an option to degrade that effect? or even disable it entirely. 
(they may be changing this idk from what I understand overdrive is changing anyways)

How does friendly fire impact scores right now? It could be interesting to have killing a friendly count toward YOUR loss, not theirs. 

And even a point drop, so if you kill a friendly and your score is 5 it should drop a couple points. Why should you be rewarded for doing friendly fire?! 

Just a few options, I am sure everyone else could come up with a few more to add.

Not sure what you mean with the overdrive. Either way, devs won't be doing anything specifically for friendly fire battles since it's such an extreme minority that it's not worth it.

Can you please explain me, why you punish players for performing a necessary tactic that benefits their team?

(shooting with rail through my buddy, killing mhim maybe, in order to take out the enemy flagrunner and prohibit an enemy from capping)

He can drop the flag for you, killing your teammate for the flag is stealing I don't think we need such strategies, this idea will help very much against mults and noobs specially during gold drop

in the post you quoted, I wrote about shooting through my teammate in order to kill the enemy flagrunner, running with our flag. The enemy won't drop the flag ;)
