AFK server (no chat, no battles; your friends see that in the friendlist)

Recommended Posts

I like to have a place, where I can move to if I am AFK in the lobby for several minutes.

My friends shall see in their friends list that I am there, and private chat messages shall not reach me.

Beeing officially AFK offers the possibility, that my friends see that I am online, and can think of me coming back in a few minutes (If I just sit around without any notification like today, then they maybe invite me, see an automatic decline, and stop inviting me for their battle)

proposal:

Please create a further server where players that go AFK can log into, the server name is AFK.

This server is only virtual as it needs no performance:

- You can not receive or send chant messages there

- you can not create battles

This should be a rather quick solution.

Valid

Similar idea: AFK status in lobby

I don't think a server is needed to do this. They could just make it so that an (AFK) tag appears next to your name when you are inactive and all the other things would then apply.

You can just click the white "X" which is in red box at the right upper corner of the screen. 3ef8811ad4534f9598b4f866e1caba97.png

I'd honestly rather servers split up with supply settings.

Server a - b No supplies.

Server c - d No supplies drops only.

Server e - f Smart cool downs. (The one we have now, not the experiment)

Server g - h Full supplies. (No cooldowns)

They wouldn't need to make new servers, just adjust existing ones. Of course there would still be servers like we have today. Only 2-3 of each of the above would be made.

If I close it, then I've to log in again later on

Well if you go to AFK server then you will need to change servers after that.

A logoff means that I have to start the whole adble flash/client/browser link, wait for the initial load and then enter the password again.

With the proposed feature I can simply click on the server selection dropdown menu and select AFK, which will be the topmost server due to the alphabetic order. When I come back, I can simply select an active server and there I am.

By closing tanki you also increase your pc's performance a lil bit, it doesnt take time from developers to code and add seperate server for it.

Also you can just click remember me and then all what you will need to do is open client and click play.

Or maybe a button which you can click which will show that you are AFK? and even if you forget to click that button, eventually after 5 minutes(maybe) of inactivity, it will show up automatically.

I'm not quite sure about this, but afk thing might cause lag..

It's from a RL friend who's another game's dev:

That can motivate a lot of people to login to game and they may keep their accounts open longer than required. While on the small scale this doesn't matter, accumulation might cause load on data link layer. Server still needs to serve the hybrid client to keep it in sync. Keeping so many clients alive might increase load.

So my opinion was to have an option on normal servers to select a toggle switch for 'AFK' and letting the player go offline, so his friends know that the player is offline but will come back in a while..

Seems interesting. However the devs are busy with other updates and players do not really need this idea to be implemented within the game. Maybe if the devs recruit a small team to work with this idea it may happen. Best of luck.

If you stay afk 15 minutes or more in the garage or in the battle menu the game automatically puts you in offline mode as your friends in the game know that you are afk

That is just... BRILLIANT! It would make the game much much better and I would finally be able to use my Rico to its full potencial (RK is the biggest enemy of Rico).
