Can any of the magnum experts give any advice on how to use this thing? I bought it a week ago and started kind of to regret it. I've managed to hit several enemies, even kill a few, but that doesn't cut it for me. I feel like i'm very useless with it.

I guess it needs some time to get used to it, nevertheless I would appreciate some tips regarding its use.

Thanks!

Memorize, estimate, improvise.

So far, the best I found to actually master Magnum is to go on low ranks, make a new acc and use Magnum all the time, don't change even if you want to :p I actually can play much better with it now, estimating the angle and power seems easier.

20 degrees goes over most thin barriers and those concrete ones that look blasted up. 15 goes over the traffic barriers, but provides less cover. 10 is for in the field when changing locations, since it can't fire over anything but has a decent range for hitting any would-be threats.

Also keep in mind that at 20 it doesn't go directly over the barrier, but if you stand back a bit it travels over it without exposing the barrel, thus making it impossible for a Shaft to catch the tip of your barrel. You are entrenched, however, and can't see directly through the barrier to the outside perimeter. Watch out for any would-be assassins!

Damage for nothing

I want my

I want my huge K/D(x4)

Look at them new treads, that’s the way you do it

Playing the Magnum on the TDM

That ain’t fightin’, that’s no way to do it

Damage for nothing and kills for free

Now that ain’t fightin’, that’s no way to do it

But lemme tell ya, them Mags ain’t dumb

Maybe get some damage on yourself

All cause you get a sore trigger thumb

We gotta play these Railguns and Smokies, skillful turrets away

We gotta move all around the map, we got ourselves some fine K/Ds

See that little Wasp with the Magnum and the DD?

That’s his own little camping spot

That little Wasp, got himself a K/D

That little Wasp, ain’t gone and fought

We gotta play these Shafts and Thunders, skillful turrets away

We gotta move all around the map, we got ourselves a nice K/D

Move it move it

We gotta play these Freezes and Isidas, skillful turrets away

We gotta maneuver all around the map, we got a good little K/D

Looky look now

I shoulda learned to play that Magnum

I shoulda stayed behind that wall

Look at that Wasp, sticking it to em now

We could’ve got em

And he’s up there, doing what? Covering our flank?

Firin at nothin like a chimpanzee

That ain’t fightin’, that’s no way to do it

Damage for nothing and kills for free

We gotta play these Strikers and Fires, skillful turrets away

We got ourselves a bad K/D

Listen here, now that ain’t workin’. that’s the way you do it

You play the Magnum on the TDM

Damage for nothing and your kills for free(x14, fade out)

Not sure if it's a bug or not, but a lot of time when you are at zero distance to the enemy, it's shows no hit.

Hmm, I've never seen this happen before.. Is your internet generally ok? Were you killed just a second or so after? It could be lag if that's the case, meaning you got killed before you shot but your computer registers the shot first.

The more details you give us, the better. If more people complain we will send a report. However, I think it would be better if you posted on our help site -> http://help.tankionline.com or in this topic-> http://en.tankiforum.com/index.php?showtopic=275523

Same happened to me yesterday + that the damage of most close range shots (where you'll damage yourself) will get cut in half.

Someone pls help and teach me how to use it well. I just bought m3 and found out I'm terrible at it.

Easy, ten degrees for when mobile, as it can hit a little farther than Thunder's effective range. When behind a small barrier, switch to fifteen degrees so you can get some height while still being direct fire. Twenty and higher for hiding behind the walls in Parma that are on most maps. But, any higher than twenty and it becomes plunging fire and deals a little less damage for splash.

Magnum is just under power. It takes ages to reload and I can't even take m1 wasp in one hit.

Since Magnum M1 has max damage of ~ 1500 it can kill a Wasp M1 (~ 1000 health)

Some factors to consider...

- you did not get a direct hit, but instead did splash damage

- Wasp had DA

- Wasp had lots of MU putting it closer to M2

There is an issue with magnum and the protection paints against magnum. Last weekend I bought a protection against magnum and upgraded it to 40%. So you would say this give you a huge advantage in a fight against magum but it doesn't. I believe the protection give me none and i tested it with self-damage which should be reduced as well. The self-damage is still the same amount whether I take a protection or not. Can you fix this bug please?

I remember when hammer and vulcan were brought into the game. A lot of the existing paints gained hammer or vulcan protection as a sort of courtesy gesture. No such case with striker or magnum...

Here's another thing I am seeing with Magnums.

I manage to reach a Magnum and kill it. He re-spawns. The first thing he does is lob a shell toward the spot where he died. He knows a (usually wounded) enemy [me] is near there.

No other turret can spawn and immediately attack the tank that killed. Magnum can do this virtually every time they die and re-spawn.

Just another indication how this indirect fire weapon design was not thought through.

It's the only gun that is parabolic in nature, no other gun can attack you from across the map from the safety of their own base. Need a serious nerf or just needs to be removed.

Not all direct magnum hits on a wasp in nondrug battles lead to one-shot kills, in fact the average is no one-shot kill. It all depends on the random damage output and the big difference between Magnum's min. and max. damage. Nevertheless, Magnum is OP.

Magnum's splash radius is much too wide. It needs a nerf badly.

For distant shots the splash radius is ok. Magnum is dependent on that for distances as the impact spots with increasing shooting power and same angle have more distance from each other. But yes, it is too wide when it's about shots that are hitting objects some meters away.
