Pic, or it didn't happen.

i didn't take a pic of that battle but... this one is in a nigher ranked battle than yours and it has higher score, more kills and fewer deaths. with shaft.

not one of the hundred battles a magnum took my first place

Phaahahah, I'd beg to differ... Magnums are getting smarter by the day. I have absolutely no problem hitting static enemies at long ranges. Plus, the longer you use Magnum, the more you can anticipate on moving targets. It is no true sniper weapon at all. If you manage to infiltrate in the enemy base and stay put behind a simple obstacle; you will totally destroy the core defense.

All turrets have pros and cons. When the pros outweigh the cons we say that turret is OP - overpowered. Magnum is one of these OP turrets. The game needs a better balance between Magnum's pros and cons. That part of the debate is over. Though there will always be deniers.

Magnum is not the only OP turret. But this thread is about Magnum not them.

I started playing tanki 3 weeks before magnum got released but i stopped playing 4 months ago... This means that people have used magnum more than i have played..

If they're really getting smarter but still aren't smart enough yet they must really be getting smarter really really slowly..so slow to the point where they deserve to be rewarded for spending so much time to master it.

Nice, why did you blur out the nickname?

Sorry i somehow didnt see this post.

It is because my friends are russians who don't like to speak english. When i post such things in the EN forum they sometimes get contacted by people asking for advice in english or get people who just add them for no reason and it annoys them.

Well don't blame me; I don't see the point either. You're trying to justify yourself and I just wanted to see what the fuzz is all about because you seem to have all the right to tell people why you're the one that excels in everything.

i can't understand what your fuzz with magnum is about when you're using a far more overpowered turret yourself.

Well Swagnum ofcourse; K/D ratio has nothing to do with how effective this thing is since it's not a real sniper weapon like Shaft.

Magnum is my worst enemy as a Shaft.

mine is hammer when at close range... at far range i have no enemy.

what k/d ratio, i was talking about score. 918 score is what i was talking about... also the 94 kills in DM.

No you were not..

i swear i got 66/0 in a marshal battle at captain with m1 shaft before... camping too but without drugs.

i didn't take a pic of that battle but... this one is in a nigher ranked battle than yours and it has higher score, more kills and fewer deaths. with shaft.

I don't care about score; Isida is for score. Long range guns are all about defeating the neccesary targets to make the difference between winning or losing.

at far range i have no enemy.

Wait until you face a Magnum that mastered the charge and angle parameters.

I personally have no problem killing the campers, I just have to know where they are; obstacle or no obstacle.

Mammoths are the easiest targets since they're stupid slow.

also the 94 kills in DM.

I hate DM and don't care about them either... absolutely no strategic element in that format.

okay so i did talk about ratio too.. but my focus was the score, i brough ratio in because why not? it was another factor too

at far range the projectile takes a far longer time to reach me due to the longer distance it has to cover as well as the constant deceleration and acdeleration. they make that sound when they fire so it's easy to just run away.

yeah well, it still showed just how powerful it was. second only to hammer at close range but unrivaled at any other range.

Since it's how I tend to use it I think one of the things they could do is lower the power of the individual shells and the splash damage but make it fire faster. This would move it closer to being the shelling weapon it was meant to be without having to have it be stacked. A single Magnum will be able to lob weak shells at key points to aid the offense while it can still hold it's own against any attackers with a helping defense. If anything, take a cue from the Demoman in TF2; He can aid his team by pelting the enemy with grenades and destroying Engineer buildings, in this case defenders, but when needed he can help hold a point with his Stickybomb Launcher by laying traps that involve predicting the enemy movement. Sound familiar? However, like the Demoman a proactive Magnum would be easy to take out on it's own due to low health on a medium or light hull and a risk of self damage. This in turn would balance the hull and give it a more well-defined role. Magnum right now is everything at once and while a generalist role is good to have, Tanki is a game about nichés. Magnum needs a niché, like Vulcan did when it came out.

For me magnum doesn't seem too strong . In ctf's and Cp-s it can be 1st place, but it isn't game-changer in those modes unlike thunder, smoky or fire. I say that, having played in alt on low ranks.

With too strong I mean that it needs removal, may'be small nerf is needed.

Smoky a game-changer? You don't see this comment on the forum everyday / ever.

Maybe at a certain rank when you have m0 gear and the Smoky guy has an m1+10/10mu steps. That narrow rank window will not last long. You'll soon see a different dynamic.

Magnum is OP because it can sit in great safety and interfere with the enemy team virtually anywhere on the map on any map. Other turrets must maneuver much more and expose themselves to much more risk. It's absurd splash radius means little player skill is needed.

Well yes smoky is the game changer... Its the most common primary turret in my clan and also the most common secondary turret for those who don't use it as their primary turret.

It's only against rival clans we don't use it because our rivals know to use protection against smoky when playing against us.

I see my friends top battles with smoky everyday...

????

Well majority of players are unskilled... They talk about how smoky is weaker than ricochet but that's because they use smoky the way a ricochet is supposed to be used... Naturally the way they use it they'll lose to a turrret with higher dps...

but if you use smoky properly like my friends you'll top just about every battle.

You seem to play in a small demographic of the overall player base that is entirely dissimilar to the game 99% of us experience.

Your position here is that there are only 12 good TO players out of 50-60k and they are all in your clan. The thousands of other players in TO all use Smoky "wrong". That is whay it is uncommon to see more than one Smoky in a basic battle ... no one knows how to use them.

These 12 have worked out the Mystery of  which is this week's Most Powerful Turret. Up until this post your comments claimed Shaft was this turret.  But then again you say you have not played for 4-5 months. So you are sort of all over the map, but are entertaining in a sense.

Ricochet is stronger than Smoky. It has only slightly less range + way higher DPS + ricocheting effect. With the long range alteration it makes Smoky useless, because it has way more range + higher DPS + even more ricocheting effect. Before, Smoky had better range than Rico, so it could easily pick them off at a distance. Now you have to get in a lot closer or suffer a severe damage penalty. No one uses Smoky the same way you use Ricochet, because then we would all have K/Ds below 1. The point is it's way easier to play with Rico than Smoky - Smoky has both a higher skill floor and ceiling.

I imagine that using Smoky like your friends means pressing 12345 keys all the time.

smoky advantage over ricochet is that the ammo instantly hits the target. ricochet with range alteration still can't do that. so with smoky you can knock them excatly when where and how you want to, with ricochet they might not be able to dodge the shot but they still don't get hit where you would like them to be. and when they get hit by a ricochet they can expect where to be knocked.

yo also always know where the ricochet is firing from because of those big fat yellow balls flying at you, but not smoky.

12345? remember @Krokmou_Vol_Draka ?
