Magnum is not that OP when used for its purpose: long distance bombing on moving targets. The reason for this is that it is quite hard to actually hit anything. However, it's splash radius is ridiculous, and it can be used more effectively in Arena CP than pretty much anything else. I have the M0 in my garage, and I got a 39-tank Killstreak and 1st place on my team for bombing the CP point from above. Magnum needs its short-ranged capabilities severely nerfed.

Why is it's purpose "... on moving targets?"  Why moving?

It is best employed on map with limited sensitive areas - like... CTF.

Multiple magnums lobbing shots at defenders of a flag - if it does not kill them outright it softens them up so much the attackers have no problem finishing them off and running away with flag.

You mention the splash radius as being ridiculous.  Combined with high damage that certainly qualifies as OP in my book.

I think tanki should reduce magnum's damage or set a minium range of this weapon to prove other player use it in wrong way. It just too over powerful. And no skill at all, this is what player don't want to see.

damage should reduce about 10% or set a minium range of 35 meters will be good. or reduce its damage about 30% in close range. another way is set its minium angle and have a damage reduce in close range so the problem will be solve.

Magnum completely ruins the meta

It doesn't work with the maps in game at all, which were all designed for horizontally-aimed turrets with minimal vertical correction.

Either change the maps in game or delete the turret

I have to buy a pro pass every month, and only play XP/BP now because magnum cancer is just ruining the game.

yea its prob a hack, tanki can't do anything vs hackers they are busy making this p2w/unfair game, people are inventing new hacks everyday, vote doesn't work sadly

More likely to be a bug. Was this guy rotating his turret? Because if it was stationary and merely facing backwards, I can't image it would be very useful for a hacker.

I've been putting in some hours into Striker for the last few weeks but,

My goodness... compared to other turrets (after Isida that is) I am getting better results with less effort. Sit back behind an obstacle, poop the place full of mines, drug yourself the hell up and you're all set to rain down the terror.

I highly recommend the turret. Core principles are learned within days.. It might take you a few weeks to really get a feel of it but after that, you'll be able to hit everything. More and more Magnums are discovering the possibilities. It is time to invade this biotope of native horizontal trajectory-turrets. Soon the game will be called Magnum Online.

Magnum should be removed from the game. It's not fair that it can hit tanks from behind cover and be at no risk of receiving damage in return. It just doesn't fit into this game.

I can't decide what is worse. Being killed several times by a Magnum on the other team that you can't kill (sometimes because people on your team ignore it) or having a precious space on my team being taken by a Magnum that can't hit anything.

A good fair turret which allows players with lower frame rate to compete with rail nubs :)

It favors neither aggressive maneuvers nor camping, but if you have enough skill, you can play both techniques at the same time.

I don't think there's much skill in lobbing shells off a ledge and onto enemies that are on lower ground.

Magnum doesn't favor camping? Do we play the same game?

Magnum is I weapon I feel makes a great presence in a battle. From its massive barrel, to the deep thunder you can hear anywhere on the map when it fires. I bought magnum m2 not too long ago, a I fell in love. In my lower ranks I had enjoyed the role of sitting back and supporting by team by picking down the enemy defense with shaft. Magnum plays a similar role, although instead of picking at tanks one by one, you can blow through the whole defense in about 2-3 shots. Though magnum is a weapon that demands skill. You need to have some experience with it to know what power and angle a shot will require. It doesn't matter if you have all the supplies and an m4 magnum, if you cant land shots you're not going to be a useful team member. My main tip for magnum is to fire at clusters of tanks. Try to utilize its splash as much as possible. ;)

People who buy the easiest OP designs in a game of course enjoy the ease of using an OP item. The turret plays the game so the payer doesn't have to.

"Demands skill" hahahahahahahahaha We haven't heard that one before. It never becomes fresh. It is rivaled only by Twins players who think it takes skil to place the brick correctly on the space bar.

So I have my alt @TotaI_SkiIl with Magnum Wasp MUed to M1. I have a K/D above 3.0 (IIRC) but I've purposefully been playing highly aggressively to change my mindset on Magnums. My point is, you can't just dismiss every Magnum user as a noob; a lot of them just use it as a test of skill - Magnum simply is not meant to be an attacking weapon.

"Magnum is simply not meant to be" ... in a game that was designed for Direct Line of Fire Weapons only.  B)

You are absolutely right Conq ... skill IS skill. When Magnum is in the hands of a better grade of player you can tell. The visceral reaction is felt after reading claims a great deal of skill is needed to use it, period.

Magnum controls are pretty much the same thing as the computer golf game controls used for three decades.  Tap button, backswing starts, tap again backswing ends and golfer strikes ball. Longer backswings mean stronger shots.  Selecting the muzzle angle is like chose the right golf club.

I've never hjeard those games described as hard. They are among the simplest PC games. But ti does take a little bit of familiarity to learn the alaunch angle (club selection) and shot % (backswing timing).

The difference is seen in the phrase "close only counts in hand grenades and nuclear weapons".  Add "Magnum" to that list. PC golf demands more in terms of acuracy than does TO Magnum. But in both games the better skilled player will be obvious.

magnum certainly seems to be harder to counter than any other turret no matter what distance.

Whether or not that is op, (probably) we will have to see.
