magnum certainly seems to be harder to counter than any other turret no matter what distance.

 

Whether or not that is op, (probably) we will have to see.

We already have seen - over and over - how much this turret ruins battles.

 

The game was designed for Direct Line of Fire weapons.  It's not surprising an indirect fire weapon affects the battle massively.

 

Devs even went out of their way to re-design maps to be more favorable for Magnum.

Guess which turret is the only turret not affected by all the extra barriers they added to many maps...

No other turret makes me quit games. I am tired of having to go Magnum hunting in every single %#%#$%#$^# game I join.

 

TO seems to have no plans at all to fix any bugs in the game or to improve game balance.  They just paper over teh flaws by introducing more stuff we have not asked for,  Assault mode is a fiasco. Vulcans overheat for no reason for a year now.  About a quarter of the re-designed 10x10 maps are un-playable unless you are a Shaft/Magnum camper. 95% of all ongoing games are not worth joining because they are already blowouts. You fight Magnums, Twins, Ricos, and Thunders is every game. Fighting Hammers, Freezes, Vulcans or Strikers is something of a novelty. Even the old standby Smoky is not seen that much.

 

But TO will being us Juggernaught instead.  Look at the shiny object tankers! Send us your money.

Just quit another game because why bother with 3 magnums on the enemy team yet again yet again yet again?  Our team was winning that is not the point. What will it take for TO to do something? I guess it is just time to find another game.  I really like draie and shoot games but TO is now a sit-in-one-spot-insert-thumb-into-personal-thumb-warmer-and-shoot-game. I guess the reason I have not left yet is because TO does allow the free-to-play player to dominate the growth ladder. I will give them that much credit. 

 

But boring due to imbalance is boring no matter at what price.

Every idea under the sun has been proposed by the huge number of players dismayed at that OP piece of crap. But TO does nothing about it.  So I wish you luck but TO will just ignore you like they ignore everyone. Just like they ignored the hundreds of players who showed them their WAR tracking software was buggy. TO probably assumes I will forget their bugged software cost me 32 Containers but I will not.

 

I promise you I will cost them more tan 32 Containers worth in the form of negative word-of-mouth. No to mention I will never ever buy even 1 GB from them ever again.

What happened? :huh:

TO's software for tracking player kills would not credit players for the kills they made about 45 to 75 minutes before each day's  server reboot. You needed 200 kills in order to qualify for each 2-day cycle. Twice I made 200+ kills but was not qualified for that cycle.  One of those time I had at least 230 kills but TO said I had fewer than 200. One of those was a 20 container bonus day.  I tracked my kills with triple-checking so I know TO is full of processed borscht.

 

I had at least 20 different players describe having the same experience as me.

 

One player wrote web site tracking software to get the faction k/d ratings every couple minutes during the full 24 hr day. His / her software showed the TO website seemed to go dead just before reboot.

 

I spent hours documenting all this for TO and all they ever said was "you did not get 200 kills". 

 

I play TO daily but if TO suddenly went bankrupt tomorrow I'd not stop laughing for weeks.  I have no respect for this company. No one should pay them a dime ever again.

Their giveaway kill counter is extremely inaccurate. It's a good reason not to participate in their giveaways.

That is the only map magnum creates main issues (apart from Noise too) because of the lower level players are easily destroyed in a single shot and from the lower level, players cannot see an enemy who is on top shooting or no way to kill that opponent unless you have magnum yourself.

So has cologne, first team to get their magnums on the fortress top ends up controlling the rest of the battle.

In pro games there should be an option, where I can define what kind of turrets are allowed. I made a CTF pro game today which was actually fun and balanced until THE guy arrived. Everybody from my team left because of him except myself kept hunting them down (somebody joined just for the last 2 minutes)... I had more score than the others but who got the least crystals?

75% of this turret comes down to feeling. You'll learn how to lead and apply appropriate charge rate on moving targets at variable distances.

I can't explain that part.. it comes with time.

 

It begins with turning your sound on and focus on the loading noise whenever you charge a shot.

You'll eventually develop a feel for it and ultimately won't ever have to look at the charge bar again.

 

But it depends a bit on your playstyle and hull aswell. Some Magnums move a little closer to the target to the shorten the charge up time.

If you do a lot of mid-distance shots and suddenly have to do a long range, you may need to look at the charge rate to get the shell where you want. You can't pick maps anymore now so Magnum users will need to adapt and move out of their comfort zone. I am currently practising long range shots.

 

But I am a mid-fielder. I almost always use the 30 degrees because it's the sweet spot. A bigger arc will result in more range per charge % but also increase the time when the shell is airborne. A lower degree setting gives more speed but you need longer charge rates and it may happen that you'll blow yourself up behind walls.

 

If you face Shafts however you may need to lower the degree angle and drive further away from the wall and increase the charge; otherwise Shafts might see your barrel poking out in the open.

 

I'd use the 80 degree setting to pop 0% charged shells over walls to kill nearby enemies.

I strongly recommend using the camera controls when you see nearby enemies since Magnum can't turn horizontally.

Actually people should always use the camera controls nonetheless.

 

 

 

Poop the place full of mines and find a campspot preferably in map corners so you can rule out enemies sneaking up on you from behind.

After that it's spacebar pressing and target practise.
