E-G-O-I-S-T is a good example of why I think magnum should be made unusable in the map Noise.

On a brighter note, he was using the Mortar alteration so I guess this picture may be motivation to buy it?

No, it's a good example of why noise needs to be reworked.

I'd say both.

I did not think it possible, but the Mortar alt has made the ridiculous turret Magnum even more ridiculous.

I'd like the map noise to have a roof over the blue team base, so magnums can't just sit at one spot the whole time and get KDs like the one shown above, and the blue team can't jump off the red team ledge for an easy cap. Instead the 2 bases can be connected by a large tunnel or something idk..

Which alteration is the best for magnum?

gunpowder loader seems to be the best as it comes with no drawbacks. the advantages that come with the other 2 may be used to maximum effect in some situations but you can't do that all the time in matchmaking battles with that 5 minute weapon change cooldown.

And it's only 20k. Makes it an actual long range turret.

it does buff the long range, but i think that it buffs the short range even more. because you'll have lesser unused charge so it means that lesser time wuill be added to the reload for the next shot

It makes it feel more like the magnum that was first released.

Damn looks like I am always late to the party when buying turrets because I never have them during their OP phase

I bet ill get Hammer when it gets nerfed too - Right now Magnum feels like too much effort for too less score

Ehhh, it's good in the right scenarios. Barely anyone has protection against Magnum but when they do, it feels like you're just tickling them, even when you activate double damage. I agree the effort has been increased but that is a good thing. It shows now that being a Magnum player requires brainwork to remember specific angles and velocities for different places on different maps and under different situations rather than just point and shoot like some horizontal turrets.

I don't really use Magnum in MM battles unless it is necessary. Recently, I would turn to Striker for horizontal support but sometimes, my teammates block most of my missiles so vertical support is necessary for those situations.

Get the automated gunpowder loading mechanism alteration, it's only 20k, gives you a faster charge rate, which in turn means less reload time.

I love it, as expressed in post #1032.

Yeah it's pretty nice, The charge rate without the alteration seems to take forever which was why magnum players started lobbing shots off ledges in the first place.

So I bought this mortar alt today.

They could've told me in the description that the mortar alteration mines disappear over time.

It would've been too good to be true but this game keeps lying to players.

There was an update, now they last 30 seconds I knew it from the patchnotes but still bought it anyway, good in certain situations but shaft is more versatile.

Since you can fire every... 7 seconds?   You can have 4 mines planted in enemy base constantly.

And yes - permanent mines would have been too good to be true...

They did same thing with new fire alt (+50% vs +10%) and Vulcan Incendiary (they failed to disclose the 10% damage nerf)

Before you buy alterations, look at the Wiki for them. The Wiki does say that the mines last only 30 seconds. At this point in the game, people shouldn't buy blindly. Ask others and look for any available information first.

It doesn't really work out good for MM but it's really good for no-supply battles (obviously).

When they first came out the WIKI was wrong.
