I'm using a smurf account to learn this turret. It's difficult, but at the same time pretty fun to use, and I could see myself using this sometimes in the future.

I've already found two great angle and power combinations for the non-MM version of Polygon.

Niiiiiiiiice. Thanks!

Back when I used vertical Magnum here, I remember using 21 as the angle and 15% as the power. 20% at that angle would hit about where the double damage marker is but 15% would hit right in front of the ramp and get me the most damage.

Tried magnum. Poop.

What do you mean by this?

I think he means he didn't like it.

Magnum may seem weak at first, but that's because he still needs to learn its mechanics and get consistent with the shots. That requires practice.

The nature of the turret (indirect fire) makes it OP all by itself.   It's not weak AT ALL.  See lots of them every battle.

Seeing lots of them in battles currently is due to its latest buff (as well as the buffs before it but this one took the cake). If the clean reload stayed at 3.5 seconds, you'd see fewer Magnums.

But if they can't land any direct shot they won't be using it to its full potential, especially considering the splash damage nerf it got a few months back which prevented players from relying solely on it.

Ever see what a Magnum can do using Viking OD?  just tweak their hull a bit during the rapid-fire and it's like an MLRS.

All they need to do is equip the Mortar alteration.  Miss and you end up doing more damage than a stock that hits.

Its easy when u just camp and shoot in one direction, but start move and fight against other players, its gettin harder. Bought magnum on weekend sale, sometimes i think that i gonna land HE on enemy, but shell not even reach opponent or even fly over the tank.

What alteration to buy. Mortar or Gun carriage?

They're both good as magnum is currently OP, choose the one that fits your playstyle best, carriage goes closer to enemies from what I've seen while mortar usually just camps.

What angle do you guys prefer to use? I usually go for a 30-40 when aiming over stuff and a 10 for general purposes.

I use RGC most of the time so mine is welded at 3.

When I used to play with vertical Magnum, I change my angle for each enemy depending on the map and their position. I don't really have a "fixed" angle suitable for most maps.

I try to experiment with different angles, but if you don't want to mess yourself up with all these new angles to remember, then it is perfectly fine to use 30-40 with any velocity as long as you know it can hit the target with the right velocity.

Back when Magnum was first introduced, I used it as a short-mid range attacker with my angle at 4 degrees and my velocity at 100% for most shots. That usually directly hit anyone in front of me and at a good distance away from me as well. I'd sometimes use 6 degrees with it to reach a bit further but not too far.

So I just got Magnum M1 and RGC on my buying account. Why does this exist? Why am I allowed this much power? Magnum can't rotate for a reason.

Idk the only thing that needs practice with that thing is hitting targets above... Or ramps.

So aside from decreased overall range it has literally zero downsides? WHY?

The downsides are having to be within the sight of the enemy for you to gain score, the new projectile gravitation to get used to (although you two got that down pretty quickly), and...the third one more or less is a subset of the first downside so it would be redundant.

This alteration is more aggressive than the others. If you want to be on the front lines with Magnum, this is the alteration for you. Keep in mind that because you can now rotate horizontally, you are subject to the same treatment all of the other turrets are, such as getting your aim knocked off while you're peek-a-booing. Vertical magnums can just hide behind the wall and shoot the enemies.

If you're a Viking, wasp or hornet. Yeah.

But trying knock off a hunters aim is equivalent to trying to knock off a titans aim.

Hunter has an incredible stability to size ratio which allows it to be called the most versatile hull in the game.
