Ok, so in a Juggernaut battle this morning, I had to use my RGC Magnum like a vertical Magnum for about 2 minutes, and then noticed how horrid the splash damage was.

Feelsbad for the non-Mortar vertical Magnums. As it now encourages you more to get direct hits, I feel like this is encouraging players to use RGC over the others. You don't need to worry about the splash damage on RGC if you get direct hits all the time.

Did you have this realisation before or after the nerf?

I bought magnum first day when it was released and felt in love. There were many nerfs / buffs for that but generally It didn't discourage me to enjoy.

But I see lot of twins n striker after this tiny nerf.

Well that doesn't necessarily mean they're migrating from Magnum. And it's difficult to determine whether this is in fact a large scale increase in their numbers or something only you have been encountering lately.

With Magnum, you can kill people without them being able to damage you. I'll admit, with a tad of skill Shaft is OP, but Magnum takes it to a whole 'nother level.

hey!!! That is mean tidebreaker... you like shaft then how come you don't like magnum..? i like this turret and in a weird way i like this magnum Nerf.. or should i say buff... now it is even more short-mid range friendly gun as even if you are in range of splash damage; when you carelessly fire a projectile, as the damage dissolved is 30% now not 50% that means less of your health points vanish...

pls correct me if im wrong about this but this is how i interpreted the patch notes

Look, this meme was to show what most of the community feels about this turret. I personally think that the original idea of this turret was a very good one. It just got implemented very poorly. If this was a turret where you would get massive damage from a direct hit with no splash damage, then Magnum probably wouldn't get the hate it does today.

The OP splash damage and angle/amplification mechanics that can cause you to have no to full splash damage, judging on the distance of you from the blast: Am I a joke to you?

Yes, he is. I think he changed his nickname because his YT channel is called Initiate TO

My YT channel is called Zekrom TO, and so, we have the same "thing" going on - Take away the "TO" from our channel names, u get our IGNs.

His YT channel is more of a parkour channel, while my channel is a more "general" channel - a channel that uploads more game-related content (in TO, it's RTLs, Gold box montages, Troll montages, container openings, new updates etc.). I am actually starting to edit my content, so my videos will have a higher quality, so I can make a thread in the Videomakers section, and for it to be approved. (Also to boost sub count.  ;) )

Go subscribe to us if you want! Also, I'll also try to do RTL collabs with him - I do my RTL with his account, and post that content on YT.

Interesting and true interpretation. I too, am happy about that effect, but that's mainly useful in 1 v 1 situations. So in 1 v 1 situations, Magnum received a buff, but vertical Magnums are the ones with the challenges now on the nerf end of the spectrum. At this stage, Mortar is better than Stock now. You deal less damage with the splash damage yes, but there is now a mine to make up for that on one person. Perhaps all of this is to see rising usage of Magnum's alterations.

Well, we just might have to collab :)

Actually, my channel is called Initiate TO because I was planning to switch the name, but close :P

Which alt of magnum make it reloads faster than gauss?

AGLM (accelerated gunpowder loading mechanism) - it doesn't take as long to reach 100% power, so the reload is shortened significantly. This,of course, means that it's only faster than Gauss's scoped shot, not it's regular shot b)

The reload speed of the clean reload is increased by 20% with that alteration. So no, it's not shortened significantly. Only in select situations is it better than Stock with its amplification time + reload time.

But in the perfect conditions it has the shortest potential reload of any alt/stock Magnum? I just assumed that's what Hall_of_Famer was talking about.

Couldn't tell if he meant Gauss reload time after a sniping shot or its acquisition time.

Only if it's continuously shooting every time it reaches 100% velocity. If it's not, then Stock magnum is better all-round. AGLM is better for lobbing shots into the enemy base from your base. Because you're constantly shooting, and you'll need a very high velocity for most of your shots if you want it in the enemy base.

Today, I've seen a player with "Automated gunpowder loading mechanism" alt and he/she was doing exceptionally well and was pretty much accurate. I thought this was the most useless alt of Magnum. I am really impressed how someone can be accurate with such a thing. If anyone can share their experience with this alt it would be helpful...
