Just played a game of Chernobyl Siege on my alt, with magnum hunter.  Absolute beast.

Everyone needs to try RGC magnum on Chernobyl Siege.  Point A is right in the middle of the map on the lower level, and you can tilt your tank to shoot over the pipes.  In addition, its near their spawn points, and most people will only have 1 drug on.  If they don't have DA, 1 shot them.  Medium hulls and below.  Absolute destruction.

Id suggest that mag hornet is one of, if not the biggest combo reason for blowout games. Hard to stablize when your enemy can just run in a one shot everyone

I haven't experienced that much magnum hornet, but on my alt I can just one shot them with DD even if they have DA.  Gauss is a much bigger problem due to the silent lock on, splash, and long range accuracy.

I saw a video where somone was rotating their Magnum not only up and down, but sideways too, just like a normal turret. Is this some sort or alteration? I couldn't find any info on it.

NO.

The RCG alteration allows the turret to rotate, but then it has no elevation.  Same keys are used so it can only do one or the other.

Hello, I am a first lieutentant, and I am wondering whether I should buy shaft or magnum. btw I use this with hornet, and I have short band emitter for shaft, and RGC for magnum.

Which one do you like better?

it should have a range finder on it! you should be able to press a button and a drone that gets send up right above your tank (possibly revealing your position.) you can look down on the enemy from above and the turret should automatically follow as you move your mouse. then you can fire and there will be the yellow bar on the left side of the screen that shows your power, and your health on the right (similar to the shaft.) it would be way easier to fire accurately and way more people would use it.

that is ridiculous .magnum is already op .RGC and mortar makes it incredibly hard to counter when its on a hornet or hiding behind a wall .we dont need more people to use it .magnum +hornet od+dd =one shots an entire enemy base in assault or siege .its powerful enough as it is ,dont go throwing random ideas that will only make gameplay more complicated and worse

If you want the full power of Magnum, you'll have to learn how to use it. We don't want every Tom, Dick and Harry to be able to get 100% accurate headshots now, do we?

I foolishly just spent a couple of hundred thousand crystals on the AGLM alt before reading through the forum posts.

Just checking but is it really only 0.3 seconds faster to reload?

What a rip off!

It's 0.2-0.5 seconds slower to reload at M4.

Yes, the splash damage was nerfed a long while ago.

Came to play after 9 months, so yeah. But it still good.

Magnum should really get a nerf. RGC Magnum is one of the only setups which you have to buy a protection against your own turret in order to be most effective (I noticed that a LOT of Magnum/Hornets have a 40-50% Griffin module). Shows how high the damage is. ?

Wow, I have probably never gotten 5 kills at once. Also, do you often die to self damage? In the Legend ranks there are many Hornet magnums, and they seem to rarely die of self damage. They normally have 50% prot, DA, and DD. I would think dealing about 1k of damage to themselves would be catastrophic, but they never seem to die. I'm not sure how they seem to avoid the splash dmg.

Magnum has...very poor splash damage distrubution. What is a positive of this? It makes it less risky to use it in melee combat compared to something like Gauss.

You ever wondered why that Viking Magnum who was nuking you with its Overdrive in your face didn't self-destruct? Because compared to the damage he's dealing to you, he's barely scratching himself if he has protection. 6 metres away from the blast zone and the Magnum would be dealing 30% damage. At 6 metres away, if a Magnum was dealing 6,000 damage to someone with Viking's Overdrive, the Magnum would only be suffering 450 damage if it has DA and 50% protection.

Compare it to Gauss. They both deal the same damage for a direct hit. At 6 metres from the blast zone, Magnum will be dealing 30% damage, but all the way at 12 metres, Gauss would be dealing 90% damage. This is why Gausses self-destruct even though the target looks reasonably far away. Gauss' splash damage distrubution is just too good to use a sniping shot safely at melee range.

Because of this poor splash damage, it is even more efficient to use RGC over Stock. Most of the shots with RGC are direct hits on enemies so it was barely affected by the splash damage nerf.

Thanks Congo. So that actually means that it largely isn't possible to get 5 kills with one shot?

This is the only thing I like about Gauss. It needs a nerf on the splash damage range, but at least that works against it when it comes down to the players who will snipe shot you up close and self destruct. This happens to them when I fight them on a regular basis. Overall, I really kinda wish that Gauss was never added to the game. It has such an imbalanced set of stats in some respects that it's almost irresponsible to have added it. Mostly the sniping shots, lock on time, and emp alt.

By the way, who misses the days when most turrets weren't able to one shot your tank? We wouldn't need spawn protection if it wasn't for this... Now we have Magnum, Railgun, Hammer, Shaft, and Gauss. Plus, with Hornet OD, almost everything else falls under this category (not a direct oneshot, but death in about 2 seconds or less).

I wish we could go back to the days when it actually took a bit of time to get killed, when light hulls couldn't have about as much health as Titan, and when heavy hulls couldn't get oneshotted by anything except Shaft.
