Just fyi if you like parabolas or math then this turret is a dream come true .

If you can find a camping spot with a good field of vision then this turret will just destroy the opposition .

I've had limited use with it as smoky/titan is the best m1 combo ever  , anyways....there are times when this turret is beast and other times it makes you the lone noob out there .  It is is the most complicated turret to use in both mechanics and tactics, but there are those smart people out there in the Tanki Community who will figure this turret out and use it to cream everybody in every match :o

Magnum is definitely making the game less fun. Magnum isn't alone in this - it is the sudden multiplication of splash damage weapons really - but Magnum is the biggest culprit. It simply is no fun fying over and over to an enemy you cannot see and cannt shot at if you do know where they are.

A few months ago there were two weapons that could attack you without seeing you: Thunder and Rico. Now there are 6: Thunder and Rico, plys Twins, Hammer, Striker, and Magnum. Before 2 of 11 could kill you while you were under cover now 6 /13 or nearly half can do so.

The game was about maneuver, cover, timing and aiming. Now it is about splash damage. The kings of the game can kill the silly little target-class tanks what with their sill need to actually see and aim at their enemies.

The rest of the player base will figure this out soon enough. The magnum players are starting to figure out how to explot the massive advantages of their hull.

I wish this turret had never been considered much less developed. It's ruining game play.

People are starting to learn how to use Magnum at close range! Magnum is meant to be a camping weapon not an offensive weapon! Playing CTF I see 70% of the match filled with Magnum users and only 5% of them actually camp! It's like the Shaft with full power trying to kill someone 1 foot away from where you are! When I'm running to get a flag I see a magnum sitting on the flag or near it just waiting for the fish to take the bait and then when you get near the flag he just murders you!

Sorry for all the !'s... It's just that people are somewhat abusing the magnum and using it at close range when it's meant for long range

;)

Personally. I use this cannon to dislodge shafts and railgun. You can also bomb a zone blindly, and I often do damage like that. In fact, it's an artillery.

The 3 seconds to maximize the Power% is too high.(Maybe it (the 3 seconds) should come in alteration, for those who can not cope with fast charges.)

I personally was used to 2 seconds to maximize the Power%. If it is possible, I think 1-second maximize time is even better for me.

Hello guys I was just wondering whether it is worth to buy magnum after hearing good reviews about it on my main. I have 30k crystals and am second lieutenant. Would m1 magnum go well with m2 hunter and still be effective at my rank or would my crystals be spent better else where?

This turret should never be your main.

Don't get it.

If you have never used Magnum before, make a new account and test it out there.  It will be far more pleasing to learn how to use Magnum against a bunch of noobs rather than against people with skill.  If you are too lazy to do this, as I was, get on a Polygon CP match where you are at the high end of the rank bracket and bombard the point.  That way, your KD will not suffer too much, and you will get some decent XP.  (This actually does help your team a lot, because a well-placed shot can pretty much clear out the point when opponents are trying to cap).

Joke's on them, they are getting terrible XP/hour that way.  A smart player will use it on a CP, where tanks crowd around a point, so that the splash damage destroys everyone.  A close-range Magnum user is generally either a complete noob that can't aim or an experienced user that knows how to maximize effectiveness by getting up close.  Either way, they are probably getting better XP/hour than they would by camping, and they are running the risk of getting assaulted by a fire/freeze/twins/rico/isida and getting screwed over.

I would not recommend using magnum on a viking because Viking aren't very stable and it's low profile means that you would have to raise the barrel tip even higher just to fire over the same wall, and you get the drift, so viking isn't the best hull to use for magnum

I think that hunter would be a much better choice for magnum

I am thinking of using Magnum... Yes or No?

I am more of an offensive player who captures flags

I see the magnum as more of a support turret...think artillery thinning out the enemy defenses as hammer/hornet screams in for the flag finishing off the lucky remnant;) On several boards it is ridiculously hard to stop the magnum...can't locate, can't hunt, can't kill;(

I personally like the challenge and think it adds a dimension to the game that demands a different skill set from me than before.

if you prefer capturing flags, then magnum is not the right gun for you.

Actually because viking is lower so its better for magnum as the tip will be not visible so much as if its used on higher tanks which might help in taking covers and etc..

I completely agree with you on this. I love large hulls with the magnum because they are easier to spot and destroy. The viking presents a much more challenging target and a more mobile one as well.

Just something i learned today

I was in a lost temple ctf using my magnum

I found a good camping spot behind a wall and firing into the other teams flag spot

after a few fires i found the perfect angle of fire and power combination and started to hit the spot every time

unfortunately unknown to me i did not move my hull at all and just near to the end of the game i got

a message telling me that due to inactivaty i was put out of the game

so guys a lesson learned if your using magnum and camping you must remember to move your hull at least a few times

I had that too, it's tempting especially on the bigger hulls. I got so focused on the charge rate because I nailed every shot.

You totally forget about moving your hull.

Well that sucks... Why would the game say that you are inactive when you are shooting and killing tanks? LOL. Sad part is that when you move your tanks just a hair, your aim could be way off.

your aim could be way off.

It's more about the splash damage. The radius is quite big but 1 prop-meter makes so much difference in damage.

I also see that much of the damage is around 1050 when you hit tanks dead on, while shooting just beside 'm will deal 1200+ damage.

This is with an M1 Magnum by the way which I use on my alt. I think it's some sort of bug. I know the damage is random with a certain margin but this is happening nearly all the time.

Oh wow, I never thought that would be a problem. I'm pretty sure it is a thing though, since I remember trying to go AFK for a while some time ago and I put something heavy on spacebar to keep firing, but still got kicked for inactivity.

I haven't had this problem with Magnum yet, but that's probably because I actually aim in different locations to hit enemies, rather than firing into one spot like a nub :P
