I was in a Massacre DM on my alt, some guy had Magnum M2 and quite a bit of supplies. He was one hitting my Viking with DP. However, he suffered at close range, as he should have.

 

Anyways, I believe Magnum is possibly one of the most, if not, satisfying turrets to use. Being able to kill enemies across map (via lucky guess) is just simply a good feeling. Not to mention its damage is HUGE. However, is it effective? No, at least for now.

 

Overall, along with Striker, I'd say Magnum is a turret that is just intended to be fun, and not entirely effective. However, there are times where Magnum is definitely effective, primarily large maps such as Stadium.

Well you can severely cripple the enemy defense from any place without putting in much effort.. but I think Isida is still the best tool to get experience points.

 

The charts are XP-based so I guess Isida would be the most effective. Even in blowout matches you can get some decent score via healing because your team will constantly take damage.

 

The Magnum user itself- as individual- is still the god of war; nearly invincible behind cover.

this is the advantage of large splash... but it aslo comes with the disadvantage of not being able to wrestle yourself through the heap and take the gold... as you have just so evidently shown.

if its really so good why havent you gotten one on your generalissimo account and show me a score like this yet? seriously man, its so hard to believe you when all you show is crappy scores in low rank battles, scores any expierienced player can easily get on their low ranked accounts. oh right, its not about score.. maybe a video please?

I started the montage a week ago. The initial reason was because you're so fed up about my camping greatness.

These GIF's are bits and pieces from the current video project. :D

 

I don't take Magnum on some stupid DM match. I use it on CTF matches.

How's your XP result there compared to the kills you make considering you do not have splash damage?

In that battle i got 950 exp in 15 minutes (it shows 94 kills because i fell off the map)

cripple enemy defense with drugs and equipment modification above your rank in a battle were you're at the top of the rank bracket? That's it? oh man... 

 

with drugs and in a low ranked battle i could march into the enemy base, take the flag and march back to capture it while slaughtering everyone in my path along the way.

you joined this game 6 years ago. this is the kind of score people like you should be getting on their low ranked accounts. 

either show me something on your generalissimo account or double those puny scores or all youre really doing is showing how underpowered magnum is.

And this is why all our arguments end in nothing. Everything results in "you are a noob you can't get x amount of kills in 15 minutes therefore your point is invalid." So I will draw an analogy to World of Tanks because I think it's quite applicable in this scenario.

 

Arty is probably the most infamous and hated class in WoT. The mechanics are similar to Magnum, though I would argue it is nowhere near as OP and takes waaaay less skill (which is not to say that Magnum takes much skill to use to begin wtih). The majority of highly skilled players in WoT hate it, and by highly skilled I mean somewhere in the top 5%. Even though such players are the best in the game and get excellent scores per battle, that doesn't make arty, which generally does far less damage and earns less experience, any more balanced just because players who play it are worse than unicums. The reason good players hate arty is because it:

 

a) has an inherently unbalanced ability to shoot over terrain / doesn't require line of sight

B) punishes you even if you don't make any mistakes

c) can allow players to sit at the edge of the map and just click without ever having to suffer any danger from enemies

d) it has extremely frustrating mechanics (splash, stun, ability to one-shot) and

e) takes no skill to play whatsoever. 

 

Some random noob playing arty will undoubtedly do far worse than a unicum in a normal tank, but that doesn't mean arty is balanced because of how cancerous its mechanics are.

never played wot before but from what you said arty seems pretty balanced to me. easy to get average scores but near impossible to get above average. 

 

smoky is a good example of the opposite, takes skill to use, but once you hone that skill youre the king of every battle. 

 

so for everyone, if youre skilled get something like smoky and youll smash even the magnums... but if youre not skilled then magnum is the turret for you, not gonna be the king but at least you wont be too much of a mult.

Can your smoky fly?   Cuz no Magnum with brains is coming out to play - they stay in their lair surrounded by mines and walls.

 

You must play against a lot of noobs.  Wish my battles had more of those...

My scores were already awesome Guido but this update is thé extension of Magnum's capabilities.

I mean look at it!

Why didn't you go for the paint with the pinstripes? Way more fashionable than a Union Jack vomited all over your tank.

really? then how come you always choose to show the crappy ones and never show the awesome ones? 


lets see how much your scores will extend. until they surpass that of other turrets, we gonna need more extensions.
