Well said, they added a totally new turret that doesn't fit the game. It's like importing an invasive exotic species into a well sustained biotope of native species. It happens in native forests aswell, a specie brought by humans from the other side of the world destroys everything that was originally there. Happens with plants, insects, fish and whatnot.

Magnum doesn't belong here. Every turret in the game fires straight with or without additional splash damage; not parabolic.

Hopefully they are going to tweak the

damage, or

splash-radius, or

splash-damage, or

some combination of all three to make a turret that is not so OP.

The fact that most tankers don't have Protection Modules for it (we only have so many crystals) does not help.

having to choose between buying another Module to offset a new turret vs adding more flexibility to my garage - I have to choose flexibility.

Magnum is likely to be at it's zenith in power until it gets nerfed or opponents finally have the luxury of adding an unplanned-for Module

It's funny how many player complain about magnum being OP, but since I have thunder, I just annihilate them with ease. Now if they were using drugs, then I would be getting creamed.

Exposure is magnums worst enemy. Once you can get him exposed, then it's toast.

Well, the DDs you use certainly don't hamper your chances.

When you fight someone using >40% Thunder and Magnum Protection you won't be laughing either.

^ the only modules with those protections are spectrum and those are rare. But if such a player exists, then I would get 50% protection against magnum, equip the armor piercing ammo alteration for my thunder, go right up to magnums face and start shooting.

That is if I have them.

All I'm saying is at higher ranks, it's not as easy to kill them as you make it sound.

For one - they have developed more tactics than to just establish a camping spot and hope no one finds them.

Secondly - they have protection against themselves and protection against most common turrets.

They are not afraid at all to go toe-to-toe because they inflict so much more damage on the enemy than they inflict on themselves.

When I slam into people to suicide I seem to inflict half the damage. This counts for double power aswell. I guess this is a step in the right direction but I can't find an official announcement. So I don't know if it's a glitch or an update.

They don't even hide anymore. Slap on a DA on a medium hull - they use it basically as a direct-fire weapon instead of artillery.

Seen them fire point-blank at Flag defenders, destroy two or three, survive the splash and make off with the flag while popping an RK.

It's so ridiculous it's funny.

Yes I have seen this too. Many magnums are now in the field mixing it up. They don't have to hit the enemy tank. Just anywhere near it.

Superb analogy.

Exactly, well said. All you need to do is hide behind a wall, figure out at which angle and projectile speed you are able to hit the enemy base, activate double damage and you're good to go. The whole gameplay became unbalanced - tell me how is being able to shoot at enemies with massive damage / splash damage from the safety of your team base considered as a good addition to the game.

Correct. it takes some time to learn and remember what angle and power to use to hit Point X/ But once you do Tanki plays like some of the golf games. Just time your "swing" to hit the right point on the arc. Tank combat game, what tank combat game? Hand me my putter.

Hopefully they are going to tweak the

damage, or

splash-radius, or

some combination of all three to make a turret that is not so OP.

Without severe map re-design putting band-aids on via parameter tweaks is still going to leave the root problem. Off the top of my head, flat roofs over areas ... many more obstructions at height like antennas radio towers, advertising blimps ... stuff that obstruct lobbed shots but make no nevermind to LOS shooters.

The (non-Pro) game is already dominated by maps tailor-made for Shafts and other long-range killers. I flat-out refuse to play Lost Temple anymore. There might not be a more boring Shaft-happy map in the game. There are precious few maps designed for the little tank and the short field of fires. Good luck finding a game on one in the non-Pro section.

This much is true enough. But overall they have a disproportionate impact on the overall flow of the typical game.

Magnum is good but it is a snipping weapon means we can't hit Magnums at long distance though the shaft is also a snipping weapon we can hit them ( Magnum users are feared noobs who can't play with orders in ground)

"Precision Targeting" is a horribly misleading title. "Sitting In One Spot And Milking Magnum's Punk Easy OP Design" works better.

Too long of a title. A much better title would be "How to PROPERLY use Magnum"

In the v-logs they stated how striker and magnum are mainly not multipurpose, however, after buying magnum m2 at the birthday sales, there is much more to this weapon than people think. The main reason I bought magnum m2 was because once I get to lieutenant colonel my railgun m2 was just too weak, it didn't have the power that i needed and its damage was too inconsistent. The only time I really camp with magnum is when our team is trying to clear out a choke point, otherwise i'm running around blasting the enemy team to bits. The really nice thing about magnum is you can two shot a heavy hull of the same modification level, the chance of it happening is around 30% but its still possible.  Another huge advantage this turret has is that many people don't have protection from magnum, which only makes it even easier for you take control of a map. I was playing on a silence game on red team, we had 3 m2 magnums on our team (Including me), the enemy team wasn't able to even get close to our flag, especially since magnum has a huge splash radius, since the enemy team would cluster up alot, it only took our magnums about 3 seconds to kill 5 tanks. Magnum is also not horrible for capturing either, if you get the chance run for the flag and if someone chases you just shoot straight up at 5% power and the shot will land on the enemy. This weapon has much more potential than people think and if they had a chance to try and get good at it they could enjoy it plenty.

Thanks!

I'm currently bombarding battles across the servers with my cheap camping-style-gameplay.

Today I found Valley; a pretty rare map that I haven't played since 2015 or so..

Anyway, I totally forgot that it still excisted and strapped up the Magnum to take a look.

Another superb map for Magnum, lots of height difference but almost no blockage from signs, bridges or whatever it may be that prevents my powerfull shell from striking an enemy. (ohh well, like most maps) Totally ruined the place but Ayy, good score... good score...

I agree entirely that Magnum is incredibly easy to use and ridiculously overpowered.  But bad design is what Tanki does,

This thing seems to manage an extraordinary amount of damage... I feel it needs to come down a bit... being obliterated by something that doesn't seem that close... gets a tad irritating.  Direct hits are appalling..
