This thing seems to manage an extraordinary amount of damage... I feel it needs to come down a bit... being obliterated by something that doesn't seem that close... gets a tad irritating.  Direct hits are appalling..

What is worse to me is how a Magnum player faced with a nearby enemy can just woodpecker his spacebar until a shell dribbles out the end of the barrel, scouring the map clean of any threat.

I am developing a Striker account., It uses the Striker-only module which it has MUed as high as possible. I do this for protection againstt my own spash damage vs nearby enemies. I mention this because Magnum players should and will do the ssame thing. Then watch out.

(yes, Striker is overpowered too but as it is still a LOS weapon it's not nearly as bad as Magnum.)

Don't get too biased though; I often find myself dying with just about a milisecond of charging time left.

Magnums are pretty much always dead in these cases.

If you can find them, they're quite easy to take down. I just wait until he fired another round.

But only the Magnum users expose themselves.

I think you're assuming I'm talking about a non-Magnum jumping a Magnum. That's the scenario Tanki offered as normal gameplay.

But players are always moe clever. Now you see Magnums on ight hulls and they go on the offense. They can because all they have to do is dribble each shot out the barrel. Then the zoom into the area they just scoured of enemy ... repeat and keep going.

I'm talking about the 1 vs 1 scenarios. Magnum users in the open are pretty much doomed.

Lol, in no way was that inappropriate language, the context was totally different.

Yeah, I have absolutely no trouble taking down a magnum with my thunder (unless it's an m3 version of it with drugs <_< ) but other than that, take advantage of its inability to rotate it's turret horizontally without having to turn its hull. If you have an impact turret, use that impact, magnum is even more sensitive to impact than striker or railgun.

If you have freeze, take advantage of that. If you have firebird, get up close so it can deal self damage, and then use its reload time to your advantage. And so on.

The point is that magnum has its weaknesses as well. And it can be beaten.

I agree Magnums can be killed, I( guess the idea I am working towards is they are too effective from ~40m and in. If the devs insist on having a massive damnage weapon that can hit across the map and shoot over 85%  of al obsticles, then damn it it should be able to deal aout essential zero damage under 40m.

It's been months since I've played tanki online and I've noticed that they debuffed tons of weapons and made 2 new ones. I came in with 35k enough to buy a magnum m1 and I've been using it ever since. Sometimes I have issues trying to aim the turret, any tips or tricks for the Magnum because all youtube has is some parkour :/

It doesn't take much for a magnum to make battle pretty one sided though.  If they smart enough to engage your team, it doesn't take much to tie yours up and have the sphagnum beat your brains out.  If you can catch it out, sure.. you can kill it, but its still a massive amount of damage and can throw the best teams I've played with into complete disarray.

Exactly. LOS turrets are second-class citizens thanks to Magnum.

Still not convinced? We have two new turrets, Stiker and magnum. Which one do you see 1 oe 2 of in almost every team in every battle?  Do players seek out and use OP gaming options. Yes that is exactly what players do and right now they are buying the OP Magnum.

Yesterday was one of the best plays I ever had. My whole team agreed to get Magnum and Viking as a combo and any choice of protection. It was a pro battle and there wasn't any timer so it lasted about 6 hours. We literally just dropped bombs on the enemy teams on the Noise map. Best game ever.

I am sure both teams enjoyed your game of Tanki Online 2018 immensely.

only noobs or extremely overconfident players play on the bottom team of noise now..

both deserve the treatment they received.

Evening game (est)?

Red was slaughtering blue. it was ridiculous.

So now we need to fork over another 250k (125k on 50% sale) just to survive coming up that ramp???   :(

Honestly it seems like a fun turret. I wouldn't use it in a battle charging into the flag going Rambo style on the enemy team. I think it would make a good sniping gun on maps like madness, and polygon (mainly due to the fact its a small map) I have no experience with it due to my rank and I cant get it because it will only let me get the M1 (28,000 crystals and i only have 3,000). It reminds me of the battlefield 1 armored train.

Same reason I cant get it! It only lets me get the m1 version, but i am saving up for m2 kit (tornado kit). I have about 83K crystals right now.

Buy m1 magnum in a sale and then get m2 hornet and m2 railgun on a sale when you can get them, that way you can get more for your crystals.

I found an optimum angle to use in Brest

It may sound dumb, but I noted some numbers for angle and power on a pice of paper, according to different map and specific spots. So, when i join, I know, more or less, what angle I have to use to hit the area I want.

I will also made some screenshot to remember well the spots.

I still find the distant shots difficult; the ones that require 65 or more charging at 30 degrees.

I used to have a piece of paper aswell with the ideal angle/charge rates for specific areas in specific maps.

When it comes to short - medium distance; everything is about feeling.

I'm currently using the 30 degree angle pretty much as a standard setting and developed a nice feel for the charge rate.

The K/D ratio's one can get with this thing is outrageous. The camper's dream.

I find one major issue with Magnum. There are some maps (particularly maps like Noise or Gravity) where Magnum is completely dominant. The  team with the higher base just sets three or four Magnum players above the lower base, and shoot as soon as they reload. Magnum is a difficult turret, but this way of play is easy and overpowering.  It takes no skill yet completely destroys the team down below.

And tanki doesn't do absolutely anything for balancing this. Pretty cool right?
