Your Opinion about tanki

Opinion? Drugs are getting ridiculous, most players don't even turn their turrets now but steel they can 2 shoot you while you could sit there all day shooting at them that they wouldn't die. Skill level and strategy are going down like a rock on Jupiter. Many of us need free no-drug option asap and I personally would gladly give up on missions/events for that.

I began playing this game in 2012 because, even though it is a niche game, it was fun and dynamic. If the game had existed as it does today back then, I would never even have started playing this now boring, gimmick laden, full of bugs piece of human muck software that claims it is a game. I would have quickly dismissed it as a little kids game and moved on. It's no wonder that Pony Tail Boy and the Dev's can't attract and keep any new players and are losing those they have.

I am wary to continue investing effort into the game as they keep changing everything (nerfing turrets, changing hull parameters, now even taking away legacy protection modules). For that reason this sale will be the last time I save up for new equipment. The declining player numbers are also a concern and would make match-making redundant as wait times to fill up a battle will increase. I'll switch back to playing PRO battles only soon but I want to scale back how much time I invest on here.

My opinion is " TO-is-about-to-die ".

Why?

  • Many people left  TO.
  • Developers removing good features and adding bad features sometimes.
  • They're adding/moving from garage to  shop for $$$.
  • This video

dead!

Matchmaking really sucks! Example : average wait time   40s

                                                            time elapsed         12m 40s

I quit after that!

Example? Maybe. Representative example?  No. Cherry-picked example?  Yes.

I have never had a wait longer than 5 minutes.  Now I don't waut longer than2, 2.5 minutes. I'll try a different mode.

On the other had I have had dozxens and dozens of games with literally zero wait time betwen click and loading screen.

For some reason no one ever posts these MM examples though. Hmm....

Obviously TO is dying. Its a flash game. (give me HTML5 crap and I may smack you) Flash games croaked back in '13 or '14 when the mobile market came out. Tank waited too long to implement matchmaking, plus the flash generation has grown up. My cousins, they do not go online looking for free games to play like I did when I was a tot, they go to Steam credit cards in hand. The AAA industry had taught them that good games are not FTP, and not online hosted. AAA has taught an entire generation that the good stuff costs $60 and has loot boxes. That is why TO is dead. All games die. Look at Halo and every other online MMO, they die out and are replaced by new games which compete. The new always will compete with the old, and the old will always end up losing.

Really? I feel recent AAA games have shown the opposite.

Not everyone ascribes to the truth regarding the quality of AAA as preach by Jim Sterling. I know some people who think Star wars battlefront is a good game.

For me, the game was very good, until the druggers took 99% of the non-PRO battles.

If someone of you, check the videos of the week in the V-LOGs of 2015, you all could notice a standard battle where all the players are not using drugs at all.

So wat?  In 2016 only buyers had many drugs. Now everyone does.  DD/DA cancel out. So guess what?  If everyone is using drugs or no one is you have the SAME EXACT GAME.

I cannot believe I still here chats of "he's a drugger".  D-U-H. That is why they are supplied to players, to be used.  Everyone either has enough or has themselves to blame.

Why not to add Tanki Online in French language?

From the first Raw Friday, Nives said that the game is being translated in different languages: French, Italian, Dutch, Lithuanian, Arabic, Finnish + one more. No date was specified.

Start watching at 30:00 minutes in the spoiler:

Little Willie, how much do you play? You've been here for years. I haven't played in nearly two years because of how frustrating the game became. It isn't much better, but I'm determined to give it a fair shot. At your rank, I would guess you play one or two rounds each day to keep a mission streak going, but you don't seem to play. Do you just make all this up?

Opinion of this game: I started playing early 2014. I found the game fun. Some aspects were frustrating, and some of those frustrations were addressed and fixed. Others arose. Sometimes addressed, sometimes not. After a year or so, I'd settled into a style I liked and was good at, with equipment I'd become skilled with. Then there was the Great Leveling (when, I forget, wasn't early 2016?) The game changed everything within it to make everything more similar and less distinctive. (Second time of full overhaul of the game, but first was before 2014.)

I wrote a lot about the problems of the changes. Mostly, it took away the things I found fun. It allowed the ineffective players to be mediocre, and it brought most of the best players down to mediocre. (Thus, I refer to it as the great leveling.) It was shortly thereafter, if I recall correctly, that they reduced the hulls to three rather than seven, and they kept upping the guns, and they reduced the number of protections. The last change on protections was while I was away. I'm okay with the change, but three protections against at least 13 potential weapons is quite frustrating. I appreciated all the new turrets except Magnum. The Magnum turret is a good idea, and it can be an entertaining addition in a match, but too often it is decisive, and it significantly changed the game. That is, the game is designed flat, essentially 2D. Magnum is 3D. It changed everything. I think the overall effect is detrimental. It adds more frustration than fun. (Most Tanki changes since early 2016 have added frustration and subtracted fun.)

I'm back for now. Perhaps my rusty skills will develop in ways more suited to current Tanki, rather than pre-2016 Tanki.

There have always been lots of complaints in the forums. Most were legit. Many were effectively addressed, but the "dying" factor simply took over. I really can't fault Tanki as a company. They have agilely adapted most of the time, but while the adaptation has kept Tanki viable, it hasn't generally been fun. We play games for fun.

If I'm still active by September, I suppose that means I found it more fun than frustrating.

Matchmaking is currently a failure. It rarely provides balanced teams. It can be thrilling to be on the strong team, but the effect wares off soon and becomes boring, and being on the weak team is frustrating and discouraging.

There needs to be an incentive for players to stay in battles through finish. It cannot be enforced, so it must be incentivized.

Well, LittleWillie, no big deal, I suppose. You simply seem to be advancing slowly. It seems you were just about this rank last I was reading forums. I'm probably remembering wrong. No worries. (One cannot check. The rank on old posts updates with you.)

Also, I was looking back, and I stopped playing Tanki in August 2017. So, nearly one year, not nearly two.

In rereading my departing comments from last year, it seems little has changed overall.

Hey! 'Member me? Yea, I know, I know, the most famous Tanki player of all time. So, why did I leave? Well, there are many reasons, but here are some of the important one.

1) Pay-To-Win

I have played for 4 years, which is countless hours. Yet I don't have a Legend Account. And no, it's not my skill. My skill is not at fault. I have played for 4 years, and I had mastered every turret. (except Magnum) I think it is the pay to win. I have not spent a single penny on this game, and my highest account is Brigadier. I hate pay to win games. I like games where I can win without buying. I like it when all that matters is my skills, not how much money I have spent on this game.

2) It's Boring

Yep, I said it. Ban my account, whatever you want to do. (idc really. I leaving) But it is just so boring. It is the same concept, every time. You go to battle, you try to kill, and you get killed by druggers or buyers. And it is the same thing, just that it gets harder. It is just boring, you kill, you die, you rank up, and the same thing again and again.

3) All My Friends Have Left

My friends, I have mentioned them in some of my articles and stuff. They have all left. Me and my friends would play games together, we would make our own mini-games. Now, all of my friends have left and there is literally nothing to do other and play the actual game, and if you skipped reason 2, the regular game is boring.

4) There Are Better Options

There are more fun games to play. I play games on my iPad, and this laptop and most of them are better than this. I play Fortnite, DLS, Vainglory, The Respawnables etc. I like them more, and I have more fun playing them

Looking back, I feel like I spent way too much of my time and my effort on this game. But I'm not going to look back. Right now, I am trying to achieve some of my goals, like getting good grades, joining basketball team, joining fitness team, and joining the soccer team. I also want to win a intramural football competition. I have enjoyed this ride in this game, and sometimes, it felt like more than a game. I hope that all of you have a great future, especially those who I have been friends with. Thank you to everyone who helped me, and I will miss you all.

It seems there is a lack of communication between players, tanki staff and tanki admins or owners. So I think the owners of Tanki will never read this important post. By now I have years playing tanki with several accounts and there are things about tanki I can tell you for sure. Tanki is pay to play and pay to win game no doubt about it and there is no problem about that, but yes, there is a problem with that, it is oriented to that in excess in relation to other vital points of the game. It is very clear they pay lots of attention and investment in the technology and development of the game, but with very none sense goals which in fact drove other aspects of the game to a situation where tanki is dying and it seems there is no way back due to the nature of the changes they made. So let me start with the details at least from where I started to play tanki.

The weapons balance was needed but had mistakes which tanki took too many time to fix and rebalance, and some problems remains after 3 years becasue new problems were added with the balance, it is important because many players like me feel frustrated having made and investment in a weapons after selecting some, and money wasted, they became useless, not balanced. An example of that is "twins", first hit to players. Then one of the main, i would say errors, was to reduce so drastically the respawn time, because if in fact the game has no goals all trought the ranges, all are the same weapons, same maps, same all, now the minimalistic goals of flags and control points became nonsense, since you don't kill anybody, just change the player from place instantly, so you fight some one to take the flag, ok, you win, you kill him, but he took part of your life, then you take the flag and he is already there new again with his full life, of course this time there is no way you kill him first, there were no time to escape or at least take him near you side, so if he kills you you might have time to retake the flag. So the respawn time to short is a big error.

Something similar happened to the supplies, but different, when tanki reduce drastically the supplies times, and big mistake including the overdrive, because with the use of overdrives you more easily feel frustrated with some players of your team, it is now a factor which very few players share in order to win a battle, you see most players don care about to win the battle and you get frustrated. It is the clan's effect but enhanced.

The fact tanki never wanted to balance the battles, not the weapons, it is proof their actual policy is killing tanki, an the more time they stick with the MMS pretending to balance the battle, which is not, the more soon tanki will die, and have no commercial value as a company. It is time to react, remove MMS, remove clones, balance the battles not the weapons, lower pricing of the stuff ,you have data now relative to number of players you had in the past, remove XT, remove overdrives, restore respawn time and supplies times, create real goals, name them levels, 1 to 40 if you bet, so to get to level 40 you will need more powerfull weapons, dont push players with ranks, let them push themselves trying to get to level 40, so they buy more powerfull weapons, no matter the rank, the rank will indicate which level you have reach, and again, balance the battles, always same number of players active in a battle, keep the extra players ghost.

1 vs 1 two active players, 2 vs 1, the new player is kept ghost till i have a partner in my team, 2 vs 2, we are 2 vs 2, one left, so again we are 2 vs 1, at the moment I kill one, that one will be kept ghost till we are 2 vs 2 again. New extra players any team will be kept ghost till the battle is balanced. not m0,m1,m2,m3, just MUs not even protections, make them part of the MUs, click the specs you want to improve, make a total amount in crystals and buy it. Protections and all will be for the specific tank you are improving. not for all, al lthat makes the game simpler, more challenged more atractive. You want more details?

Does anyone get one-shotted instantly in a battle?
That's me because Tanki sucks now. Too much noobs with money and no skill. Ive seen many firebirds not turning their turrets and their thunder(which are plenty) one/two shot everyone in my team. Talk about a failure.

Is it me or at this rank? Or maybe the masses of five year olds who get to play this game?

Aw carp my computer will break with this game because its bad. Battles take forever to load and when I join, Ill get murdered and turned into cannon fodder. Great..... This Pay2Win game has snapped and the once loyal proud group of players just fell out and drowned in the sea of noobs and buyers..... I still play this game because if I play Tanki X my computer will crash upon a battle.

It isn't the best game in the world, nor the worse. I have several accounts, each with a different turret and each a different rank. I did this to keep the game a little more interesting for me.
