Your Opinion about tanki

My opinion is " TO-is-about-to-die ".

Why?

  • Many people left  TO.
  • Developers removing good features and adding bad features sometimes.
  • They're adding/moving from garage to  shop for $$$.
  • This video

OMG I MISS PlatinumFalcon so much :( :( :(

All of these contreversial updates make great players like him leave Tanki

Ok so this topic is straightforward.

I only want positive aspects of tanki discussed in this topic. I see a lot of negative comments  just everywhere, it's rife. And I mean, that affects the game. My experience of the game for sure. A negative comment for every 2 min of reading is kind of absurd. The community should be more positive I feel so here is your hot zone for positivity in tanki. Pls fill this up with pages and pages sharing what you love. And nothing negative pls. Is there buying sure. Does that affect certain parts of the game sure. Is there drugging sure. Do some things kinda tick you off like when inexperience players knock of your aim by not driving around you, but pretty much like they think they need to fist pump tap you every time they go by, I mean sure. That's all annoying. But please. Give it up for tanki.

Ok so let's start this off. For those who say that tanki doesn't listen to us, what did I see today? Finish in top 3 in a game - a community request I do believe fulfilled. I had to get top 3 in 3 different games. And this was certainly achievable I got a nice 9 repairs and 42 double damage for this. I was ok with that. Or anyways so hey.

X3 missions I see are staying. This year with x3 missions obviously being legend has transformed my tanki experience. This year alone I added to my garage: Ricochet m3, Thunder m3, Vulcan M3, Fire m3. Before this, I was a smoky twins isida player only. But that's just the half of what x3 missions did for me this year.

My twins isida weren't even m4. This year I got them to m4. I have had m3 viking and m3 titan for a while, but I finally topped them off to m4 as well.

Then, after purchasing vulcan m3 this year, I got it to m4 after 5 months or so.

With the upcoming end of year sales, I can also get m4 thunder and smoky underway.

This will complete my overall most desired turrets and hulls. Don't want wasp hornet. Don't want mammoth. And i feel out of all mid hulls i have viking which beats the others. Maybe a dictator down the road.

Rico and fire will work themselves up to m4.

But its still more. I got my first protections this year of actual note. Before I basically just had 2. Classic inferno paint protection. And nano classic protection against fire smoky rico hammer.

So I got a badger, lion, kodiak, urea protection all this year.

Mostly all this was with a couple sales on getting premium for a few months, and x3 missions. 2500 a day, with 14000 every week.

I could write more but I see it is already starting to get long. And I know some don't benefit from x3 missions if they don't do them. But in any case.

Make those in the community who want a bit of good reading about the game we all play come here for a little boost in spirit. Post away.

Nice topic man,

I find the cheaper prices of M4's really nice. The game has quite a bit of lures but if you're spending your crystals wisely you can reach your desired equipment faster than ever before. There are some strategic spendings here and there; for example Smoky and Titan M1 fully mu'd; that one will give you the power equivelant to a Colonel; indirectly saving you quite a bit of crystals. Patience is the key here.

I also like how the Shop has expanded but hasn't affected much of balance between buyers and non-buyers. Lots of customization aswell. Much much more than when I started. I like the varierity of paints and the visual looks of XT's. The new animated paints are not my thing personally but it's cool seeing them around.

NS battles are still there, that's great for those who're not into supplies and missions like me. It's great that they still have this feature after all what's been added to the regular way of playing. The friends system is one of the best features of this game too, it goes well in NS battles and the wide variety of maps.

Why was my topic moved to this,

They are similar in that I'm trying to share my positive opinion of tanki and others, but this is positive or negative.

I'm sick of going to threads and seeing negative bashing on tanki.

Honestly if people are playing a game they can't help but bash left and right that please rethink your life choices.

Why would you play a game you want to  constantly insult.

My post is related, but essentially one half totally opposite of this post.

I wanted no negativity in my thread. This one is open to at best half positive half negative, or just neutral.

I genuinely think my thread was justifiably separate front his one. I had seen this topic and did not want to write in this thread.

I respect your response to a degree but would disagree with your understanding of what my position is (to label me a hypocrite).

My responses to negativity are valid.

Here is what I don't mind: criticism.

Dear tanki,

In daily missions there is one which is rather hard to achieve first in battle.

Could this be altered so that top 3 in a mission win.

Tanki to players.

Dear players, your wish is granted.

Weeeeeeeeeeeee

Here is what I'm more frowning on, and it's not that it's even I'm harsh on it as criticism, but it's this one phrase multiplied by 1000 everywhere on the site in all the games. Do you know how often I hear complaints about drugs in game, in forums, etc?

This is what we don't need:

Boo tanki you never give players what they want. Where is as L mode from last year, why isn't that in the game. Tanki is going downhill because everything is broken. Twins is op. Thunder is op. Isida is op. And then go on and on and on.

Now complaints about magnum are fine. They are valid. That is criticism. Magnum is overpowered I think anyone would agree. But how, and where to tweak it is key.

But honestly tell me looking through this site that you don't deal with whiners, you don't deal with complaints.

My number one peeve in this game is how often I hear the term noob thrown around.

The people on this site must by 7 years old. I am a legend and get called a noob almost every day.

I go on a low account I created this year, and get first every game and guess what, somehow I'm still a noob.

I join a high rank on that account, let's say I play as rank x and play with rank G which is about 5 ranks higher than me... and instantly I'm a noob.

In that game I get highest score play all better than them. Say I have legend account.

Gues what I'm a noob.

Anyways.

Negativity. No thank you.

And there are many hackers at low ranks .... You see the gold>you run for it>suddenly super Mario arrives>poing poing and jumps

Noobs take offense at being called noobs.

Interesting. I mean on the face of it I have the most lowest opinion of how this statement was made, you come off to me as the dumbest person in the world. But let's see if I can break this down.

First, I assume this comment was directed at me.

Second, I assume  you suggesting that I may be in fact a noob, and this isn't a general statement.

Third, definition of noob. As in someone who is new to the game.

Now for an onslaught towards the stupidity of tanki players who use the term noob.

A noob is person who is new, just started. As a legend I am not new to the game.

Now from here, if you don't realize how lacking your argument is, I'll try to help you out a little.

A person can still be a noob high rank, and I can only think of a very few ways:

High rank noob: Someone who for some reason can still not turn his turret, or someone who is high rank and plays a new turret than he's played reaching that high rank. So I've played twins, isida for instance, and I'm fairly decent at vulcan as far as I can tell. Picking up smoky and thunder no problem even though technically I'm new at them.

Now if I bought railgun, or say striker, or magnum... maybe then I would qualify as noob? I'd be new at the turrets... and probably not very good at them.

Another way that might indicate noobs is say clear in game scenarios where a specific gameplay is required and you do something an inexperienced player would do, like an isida who chooses to heal a flipped tank when the flag bearer is under fire at half health. I.e. why would you not heal the flag bearer vs a flipped over tank who is about to self D.

Now third onion, you may be talking about me being a noob... or not. Maybe you actually believe every time someone shouts the term noob around in tanki its a valid call.

I find this remark almost entirely baffling if you honestly belied it.

I hear people call druggets noobs. A drugger is not a noob. The two are not correlated. You might call a drugger a drugger.. because that fits. But a drugger and a noob are easily too different things.

Top ranks playing on their best equip are probably not noobs.

That you may want to defend that anyone could be a noob even though its just a term that on tanki has become more of a troll statement makes me think you may be in grade 2.

I do not mind that I may be somewhat older than the average tanki player. I am not in elementary school anymore.

It would just be really great if tanki could have a  semblance of maturity beyond the age of 7-10 year olds every once and a while.

And here is the point in the coffin. No one should want to have to ever use the term noob, because when the term noob actually applies in a justifiable way anyone would agree to label an actual noob a noob is kind of a jerk move.

Hey 10 year old tanki play who just joined at mo smoky and mo hunter, I'm a legend playing in an alt account, and I'm the best. But I can tell you ar a noob, so I'll blind side you with noob insults.. because guess what: YOU ARE A NOOB!

When I was a noob, and couldn't turn my turret, any time I got called a noob, I basically just ate the bullet and said, yeah I haven't quite figured out how to turn my turret yet and play...thanks for pointing out my short comings.

i mean I guess in a sense I don't mind it when I was a noob, and was being informed why what I was doing was a noob play, it helped me get better when I was told not to block pathways or do this and that.

But when people shout noob for the random sake of because they are upset or what have you, are we actually going to play dumb and be like as a community, YEAH here here! let's all keep calling each other noobs right up until legend 43 rank. Cause I mean after all.... legend 43 .. he's pretty noob.

God please tell me people in tanki are not as dumb as they sometimes seem when they speak and act, my view of this community would drop even more.

Maybe I need to stop using forums at 65 posts and 2months.

You all talk like such a great community so act like one.

When some one makes a valid point acknowledge and support it and not be cowards.

Act like you might one day be a grown man or woman.

Start now. Make the community a better place. Lose the senseless negativity.

I went through a phase where most of the players in battles I did were Russian and didn't turn their turret. Then they'd end up on my team and I would lose, rage-quit, and repeat. It was awful.

The worst is when I see tanks who don't turn their turrets drug and cap a flag.

Tanks has been really been 99% buyer. I joined the game in late 2015 and became captain in May of 2016. I remember in one battle, there was a first lieutenant with Minotaur kit, which is twins and Viking m2. All the players were extremely surprised since most of us were m1s. I quit that account and since my friend quit Andy gave me his account, which was SnoopyVinceTNT123. It was the rank under wo 1 but had a full m1 garage. Climbing up the ranks was easy. I became a buyer after they released the gift card system. I had a full m3 garage using mud by brigadier. When I became marshal and could buy those m3s, ********* hacked my account, bought 50 cents of something, then he took it back with PayPal so it got blocked on tankers day which is sad since I finally ranked to marshal. :( I restarted and am on this account. I’m less of a buyer and realized how much the game changed. At third lieutenant I was playing with brigadiers and m3s. Most players that were captain or aboveboard had m3s. I stay away from normal battles since all of them are blowouts. Can’t tell if the game has changed for the better or worse. Clan system, micro upgrades, but then what about rename pass, matchmaking system, pro battle pass, not being able to do missions in pro battles, repair kit. I’d say the game is dying.

What sucks most about Tanki today?

I think it's that everything encourages players joining a game to join the winning side - or, if they're on a losing team, to abandon the game.

The reason is that a difference in player count is HUGE.  It's bigger than any difference between turrets!  If two teams have 10 players, and one leaves, that's an 11% advantage to the bigger team.  If one team has 5 and the other 4, that's 25%!!

So why do players join winning teams, and why do they skip out the second their team falls behind?

1) The crystal award to the winning team is MUCH greater than to the losing team.  I just played a game where I was on the losing team.  I had the same score as someone on the winning team - but they got nearly 4 TIMES as many crystals.  That's right - my play was on par with one of their better players, but I got less than their worst player.  How is that fair?  So I've learned.  If my team is losing - get out of the game and go join a winning team.  The problem with that is that then the team I've left is even weaker and it loses even more and more people leave - and that's it.   Of course, it's not MY problem anymore.  It's the problem of the suckers (one of which used to be me) who stick around and try to fight while waiting for reinforcements... that never come.

I see games that are over in the first 2 minutes.  They happen when one team starts out with a numerical advantage.  Suppose 3 players are on one side and 4 on the other.  That's a 33% advantage!  As soon as it becomes clear that no one is going to immediately join the weaker team, someone leaves - and then the stronger team has a 100% advantage.  My game-theory advice to you is this:  If you find yourself in that situation - leave immediately!

Of course, that's no fun for the people leaving.  And it's really no fun for the "winning" team.  Most people don't want to play games that last less than 3 minutes. But Tanki hasn't shown any interest in making Tanki more fun.  I guess they're just trying to drive players away.   Of course, people might not be fixated on crystals (yeah, right), but even if they weren't before, they are now because Tanki made the game worse by adding...

2) Crystal Missions.  This is almost as stupid as changing Isida's healing characteristics, the "unified battle list", cramming all available players into the least possible number of games, the recent map alterations (okay, one or maybe two aren't horrible), eliminating "pro" missions.  Did I say "almost"?  Actually, it could be worse than most of those.  Why?  Because the main SKILL that completing crystal missions relies upon is - JOINING WINNING TEAMS.  That's right, people.  You can be the best player in Tanki, but if you wind up on losing teams, even if you outscore everyone else in the game, your crystal reward will SUCK and you will have to play more games to complete it than the very mediocre player on the winning team who had less than half your score.  Of course, if you're a crappy player, you should immediately join the winning team.  That way, you can get a bigger reward for jumping on the bandwagon than playing well.

Eventually, this will kill Tanki because it will all become about initial impression.  (Well, not all by itself - but in conjunction with other Tanki dumbness.)

Will Tanki fix this problem?

Don't hold your breath.

In the meantime, try really hard to join ONLY winning teams, and immediately leave any team that looks like it's going to lose.  That way you will maximize your crystals per game and help ruin Tanki... as the developers apparently intended.

At this point, until the Tanki devs do something to give me a REASON to join a losing team, I vow never

  1. To join a team that is behind, and has a numerical disadvantage, and,
  2. To leave any game where my team does not have a numerical advantage and is behind by 20% in the first 8 minutes.

How is this working?  In the past 5 minutes, I've left three games.  In each case, the team I left was down by at least two players  after I left.  That means that, in addition to a higher score, the other team ALSO had a 25% advantage in the number of players.  I'm sure the losing teams got slaughtered.  Good job, Tanki!

Update:

Just observed that the team that was down THREE players with 10 minutes to go lost CTF 10-0. Predictable.

Update:

Just left 4 more games.  All teams I left:  1) Got no replacement players, and 2) Lost.  Again, predictable.

Update:

Yep!  That's the way to rack up the crystals.  Just finished a game where the highest score on the other side was higher than mine - but I got more than three times as many crystals as he did!

Until Tanki fixes this, beating up the losing teams is the best way to rack up crystals.  Every team I've left has lost.  Every team that was ahead when I joined has won.  Every team that had a numerical majority and an even game won.  In more than half of the games after I left, other people did too.  In a couple games, people on the losing team left before I did, as soon as that happened, the team fell behind.  Once the deficit was 20%, I left. And the team lost.

So remember, if your team is losing - quit.

If your team doesn't have as many players, unless you're ahead with a short time to go, or WAY ahead - quit.

If you see a team that's ahead, but is one player short - join that team.

If you see a team that's ahead but has the same number of players as the other team - join that team.

Forget sportsmanship.  Forget helping the weaker players.  Tanki doesn't want competitive games.  Tanki wants to reward people who can figure out which teams will win - and join them.  So if you want crystals - that's how you get them.  Remember, the GAME is NOT about fighting other tanks.  The GAME is about figuring out which team will win - and getting on that team!

I was making a half joke, I had no idea you'd react this seriously. The point was, don't pay attention to people who spew nonsense in chat.

That's fair and my apologies if I went overboard.

But when someone is being serious and honest, don't come out with half jokes or jokes.

Tone of voice on the internet does not come across. I can't hear you. Or see you to know any inflections in voice or body.

Nothing of what I read in your post "noobs take offence at being called noobs" came off as half joke.

It came off as simple response.

My opinion of this game has improved since choosing to mainly play DM. Mults, inactives and noobs ruin team battles, no chance of that in DM. In fact, those noobs and inactives are easy kills in DM. It's a far more “harmonious” way to play the game where I don't have battles spoiled by selfish mult-using cowards.

I have no problem being in a losing team that put up a good fight but lost because the enemy had some smart pros that played well and deserved to win. Unfortunately in Tanki, when I look at the scores at the end of battle I'd see too often that I won or lost largely because a servile mult dog infiltrated one team, did nothing of use and ruined the battle, in both Pro and non-Pro.

All I want is fair and enjoyable battles, which team battles are not. If you hate mults and think there's too many noobs in Tanki, then the obvious answer is to play mostly DM to build up your garage and play team mode with trusted buddies every now and again when completing team mode missions. Build up a reliable friends list and get into a helpful clan if you then want to play more team modes, otherwise, you will continue to be have your battles ruined by killjoy mults = ragequit + smashed keyboard.

BTW, Pro mode is the saviour of this game....without it I would have quit ages ago. Probably way before I got to legend ranks. The game need to encourage more participation, fairness and variety in Pro mode, because no-drug XpBp and multi-equip battles are a much better and less divisive advert for the game. A no-drug, drop only Pro battle with even teams on a map that suits all combos is as good as this game gets.

play mostly DM to build up your garage

Tanki has decided to cater to the worst players on line. The revamping of the maps had a common theme - make room for more tanks, make traversing a map easier, make the game less challenging - turn it into a "game" where all you do is shoot as fast as you can and strategy, tactics, skill mean little to nothing.  It's approaching the point where flipping a coin might be of comparable entertainment value because with so much ordnance flying around in random directions, it's just a game of chance.

We saw that begin when repair boxes were nerfed by allowing isida, firebird, freeze, twins and vulcan to effectively eliminate the repair effect, when so many turrets were nerfed, when the "unified battle list" started cramming everyone into the smallest possible number of maps.  You can't concentrate on a single opponent anymore.  There is no planning. All you can do is shoot at the avalanche of noobs washing over the battlefield and hope you kill something before you get killed.

Tanki is collapsing under a whole host of poor decisions.  The fact that you basically can't play a team battle without getting cheated is just an indicator of a deeper problem.
