What to buy? Which is better?

I will target you.

I won't blame him. Although Stock Striker works quite fine in the mid-ranks, Uranium does yield higher results. And I treat every Striker I see these days as a Uranium Striker since that is what i get most of the time.

I will target you.

Huh?? Anti-Striker in the corner.

now that hornet overdrive ignores double armour and modules, its even worse.

hornet-rail, hornet thunder - all will target you.

Sometime those who dares to wears Falcon and Grizzly modules do deserves to get punished by Hornet-Rail and Hornet-Thunder.

After all, Falcon and Grizzly are in the top 3 most common module choice.

uranium alteration rocks

Cyclone can wreck havoc anyone who dares to slap M4 Orka. Not lying but if you are using M4 Dictator with M4 Orka.... versus M4 Cyclone.... one salvo (in average 7th rocket delivers the fatal blow) will get blow you to bits.

Not even M4 Heavy Hull-M4 Orka stand a chance. One salvo for that will take huge chunk of HP off (in average 88% of HP will be gone). And one or 2 rockets will finish him/her off.

Uranium too. But only effective taking down any targets that cannot withstand more than 5.2k damage.

fire m2 is great, but wasp m2 not so.

there are too many weapons that can one shot wasp

wasp does not have enough health.

But the hornet OD applies to other hornets too.

Wasp m2 has more speed and armour than hornet as well. So wouldn’t firebolt kit be more effective?

Hey yourself!

As my man Tide said up there, go with Chiropractor. He says to get it even if you are a little bit of a sniper - I say get it even if you're not :) I got Chiropractor by Tide's advice, and even though I didn't like Shaft before, I love it now. The key to Chiropractor is to not just sit and snipe. Hunter doesn't have the health reserves necessary for withstanding and neutralizing a pointed attack, especially by close-range weapons. The thing with a laser is that you'll be found pretty easily. The EMP OD helps with one attack, but next time a fully-drugged Freeze comes you're doomed. That's not to say that Shaft is the weakest at close-range. Shaft is right up there when you have the 20K Short-band Emitters alteration (I can fight Rail/Vikings up close even if they have DD and I don't) and can deal with a Wasp or Hornet equipped with Fire, or an unskilled Freeze using the same hulls. The problem begins when you get Hunters and Vikings with Freeze and the inevitable DA (and often DD and an RK). But still, if they're damaged, you have a chance. Recall that I use pretty much nothing but DDs (if you look at my profile, I'm a parkourist as well which accounts for all the DAs and RKs). If you drug, you can easily fight them off. But, back to not just sitting and sniping. You have to be what is termed as a mobile sniper. To be a mobile sniper, you basically move around the map, scoping in on targets. You never sit waiting for a target to come, with the exception of maybe one shot from behind thick sprites. You're going to have to learn how to quick-scope. You're going to have to learn when to use an arcade shot and when to quick-scope. But, when you figure that out (comes with a bit of experience, easy-peasy) you are going to destroy. Use it properly, and you have one of the most powerful combos in TO.

Another good thing with Chiropractor? Well, we all know that the kits are supposed to be good combos. That's why you don't see any Mammoth/Fire kits ;) Well, if you know anything about kits, you know what Centaur is. Hornet/Shaft M3. So, since you have Tornado, you get the M2 version of Centaur. The new ODs for Hornet, while just nerfed, are still good. Why? You just quick-scope everywhere, because no one has protections or DA. And wait till you get to First Lieutenant, then you'll gain access to another amazing combo: Hornet/Shaft/Light Capacitors.

To recap? You get two of the best combos in Tanki: Hunter (the best medium hull)/Shaft/Short-band Emitters, and Hornet/Shaft/Light Capacitors. To note, you don't need LCs for the second combo, it just makes it even better! As a bonus, you get the M2 version of Nomad, which is Hunter/Railgun. Get Chiropractor, and YOU. WILL. DESTROY.

Well, thank you for the sage advice! :)

With the 50% sales coming up in tanki, i'm considering blowing my 105473 crystals on upgrades. I did some quick math and I discovered I can MU my dictator and rico to 8/10 each. Is it worth it? I'm also on the fence of choosing between firewall and chiropractor. I know your advice favours chiropractor, but I'm curious as to how good would firewall be? If I expend all my crystals, I'd have to grind for 23 weeks* to achieve the cost of chiropractor. I'd have to go 24 weeks* for firewall.

*time needed is based on crystal income from all 6 weekly containers from weekly missions @ third lieutenant.

don't open the spoiler! Something went weird with my post and it repeated itself :/

No probs :)

I never used Hunter with Firebird, so I could not say. Recall, though, that product kits do not get an extra discount...

Should I MU my dictator and ricochet to 8/10 each?

I recommend saving for an M2 kit. Then you can upgrade that to M3 as you rank. If you micro upgrade M1s they'll be obsolete in 2-3 ranks.

Any answer??? Edited by E_polypterus

No. Hornet is better. Can deal with Fox module easier.

What do you mean “easier”?

And I don’t see how hornet is better compared to wasps’ increased speed and armour.

Don't bother with dictator in my opinion. i would go for viking it's an option.

Don't listen to this guy. Hunter is the best medium hull, then Dictator, then Viking. Go with Dictator, but don't MU it save for Boar kit.

I don't know, I feel like Dictator is not as good at higher ranks. All supplies is not that impressive. It's not bad, don't get me wrong, but everybody uses supplies like crazy already... Hunter is definitely the best though. Quick recharge, devastating effect.

Well, Viking is just sickening... ;)

Maybe, I'm not high enough in ranks to know. I am at a rank where everyone is using M2s, and I can say that at my ranks the battles are filled with noob Vikings who are barely passing by with the OD, getting one or two kills. IMHO I think that Hunter and Dictator can take you further than Viking...

One or two kills? Vikings in my battles dominate!

I find it rather odd that when I'm Viking, I'm unstable as all hell but when enemies are Viking, they're glued to the floor and stiff as a board.

You know what's the most sickening? Everyone using Viking with Uranium in JGR just to get that easy kill. It's so cheap and it makes me hate so many people there because of their tendency to only use that. Thank God i got Orka M3...

Dictator M3 is ridiculously good even though it's arguably trash at M2. I caught 2 golds and even a cake yesterday in the space of half an hour. Large hitbox? Yes. Great maneuvarability? Yes. Unparalalled height for golds? Oh yeah.

And it slides on top of people for golds, same as Hunter.

The secret to that is to accelerate with your front treads. They have a structure which easily allows Dictator to get on top, and with a high-recoil weapon such as Rico, you'll have no problem getting on top.

I play Dictator more for the thrill of helping my teammates. Sure, you benefit a lot less than your teammates but it's so satisfying to use your Overdrive on clumped up allies and see 3 stars put up.

You either have a choice of Solo Dictator or Supportive Dictator. I choose Supportive all the way because that Freeze effect barely lasts and the enemy would get hits off of you while your repair kit is still on (while doing nothing because the player already hit you).
