I agree Hunter OD seems better on defense - team-wise - like guarding the flag with short to medium ranged turret.

For personal D it might work - BUT - would not be used often on snipers (except for maybe RFM which does not camp).

There are much better ODs for campers - which would be applied to combat situation far more often.

I mean - if the shaft or Magnum needs to keep using Hunter OD to defend itself, it's not really using turret properly.

Honestly, magnum sucks in solo battles unless it has RGC equipped. And you shouldn't be staying in one spot in the whole battle unless you can defend it. And even if you do manage it, enemies will know where you are and will either try to avoid you or try to work together to take you down.

When I say that it's best suited for defense, I meant self defense , meaning that if you have enemies on your back, you can just activate the OD, and they'll be good as dead before 30 is over, unless they also have OD ready of course.

I understood what you meant.  IMO Hunter OD is wasted on snipers for self-defense.  They are much better off using an OD that allows them to kill more efficiently.  Hornet or Viking or Dictator.  A sniper might not use Hunter OD more than once a battle if they never leave their campground.

And... campers tend not to be so great up close.  Sure they can stun a target for 3 seconds.  That 3 seconds is often not enough time for a sniper to kill an enemy up close.  Unlike Twins or Ricco or Fire or Hammer or Freeze or even Isida.

Had a battle (with me as a Dictator) with 5 Vikings on my team. The other two players were Hunters. I felt sorry for the enemy team because every one of my Overdrives went to at least 2 Vikings and there were so many Viking Overdrives going off. And I was surprised to see that they didn't use both at the same time. One person used it and then when that person was finished, the next person used theirs. Viking had more of an impact on the victory against Hunter, due to numbers. The map was Kungur RGB btw, with our team being where the large houses are. After some digging, I found the battle:

 Dic-5-Vikings.png

Now, with that being said, I had another battle (with me as a Dictator) where my team had 4 Hunters, 2 Titans, and a Hornet. The Hunters got the majority of my Overdrives and the enemy team was spawncamped. The sucky thing was that some were using it at the same times which essentially wasted a few of them.

So yeah, Dictator + Hunters/Vikings can decide a battle's outcome sometimes. Which one decides it faster? Depends on the map and enemy turret-hull combinations.

I guess we can agree here. An example would be that I've been camping in CTF using Viking on my main account (because of the stability issue) and it seems to be working for me thus far.

I've also used hunter in DM and just mostly been on the move, works well there.

Just imagine what four wasps and a dictator can do, or four hornets and a dictator, or four titans and a dictator.

I had the Wasp one for a battle and it didn't end well, since the enemy had 2 LCR Railguns that kept one-shotting them. And I find it to be more of a waste to use my Overdrive on Wasps because their recharge rate is 1% per second.

To memory, I had one with 3 Hornets. One was an LCR, the other was a Round Destabilisation, and the last one was Thunder. We won that battle and we pretty much knew where the enemies were at all times.

The most Titans I ever gave my Overdrive to were 3, but usually, it's only one Titan that gets it. Titan and Dictator's Overdrive have some good chemistry, as seen in this battle:

The guy in first place was a Titan + Smoky IIRC.

This was one a while back that can be found somewhere on the forum. There were 3 Titans here and a Dictator on our team. We camped in their base and spawnkilled them. Dome after dome was being placed one after another. I think there was one Hunter on the enemy team. I saw the Dictator use its Overdrive on the Titans once which induced more domes.

Dictator opens up so many opportunities for teams with minimal hull diversity (many of 1 hull, like my battles being filled with Vikings). Just look at this, my own horde of Vikings.  :D

That is a sight that I love to see when my Overdrive is ready.

I really think that dictators ability to replenish OD charge should be given to wasp and being able to use on any teammate no matter how far away they are.

What if they changed Wasp's bomb from a instant kill to an AOE heal for teammates?

I'd much rather see it being changed into a thing like the Predator Missile from CoD games where you remote control a missile to the ground. Or even place down the bomb almost like a C4 explosive and detonate it whenever you want.

That would be an interesting adjustment to Wasp's bomb. But given Wasp's recharge time, this would see many more Overdrive sin lower-ranked battles, and maybe even more in high rank battles.

And what about Dictator? What will it get in compensation for its ability being removed, if it's getting any, that is.

Isn't the ability to reflect 75% of the enemies streams, projectiles, and shots for 15-20 seconds (for the activator only) a good replacement?

Too OP.

Care to explain? Especially when:

·Wasp bomb can still kill it.

·Hornet can ignore it's reflection.

·Hunter can deactivate it.

·Titan can just plop down the dome and tank it's own damage.

·Mammoth can touch it and it'll still die.

And when it's recharge time would be 3 minutes and 30 seconds.

It's a movable shield that damages/destroys the original source - on top of the all supplies from original OD.

Not sure why you need an explanation as to why that is OP.

Titan dome protects at 85% but is not moveable and does ZERO damage to enemies.

I can imagine a hornet Rail trying to pick off the dictator as it moves in for the flag - and - the hornet Rail kills itself.  O-P.  Or Wasp Gauss.  or any other turret defending the flag.

These kind of ODs ruin the game - making it ALL about the OD.  Don't have OD handy?  Might as well hide until it's recharged... then crawl out from under that rock, kill a bunch of tanks and hide again.   B-O-R-I-N-G.

And what guarantee do you have Hunter would deactivate it?  We all know it's performance on the other ODs...

I propose keeping it the way it is. At the moment, there is little teamwork and/or meaningful supportive play. Dictator's Overdrive seems like one of the last threads of teamwork/supportive play you can actively find.

And it can still do that. But it needs a personal ability to be relevant in solo battles.

It already has a major and minor personal abilities for solo battles.  I honestly don't think it needs anything more.

Not sure how Dictator refresh rate compares with other ODs.  Maybe it's own refresh rate can be buffed while it's sharing refresh could be nerfed.  It gets out of hand when a team has 2 dictators - all players seem to have OD all the time.  Kind of silly...

1) nothing interesting, just flat out boring and unoriginal.

2) actually you guys make a point that sharing supplies is too OP, so that should be removed and replaced with 20% protection increased for 15 to 20 seconds.

Dictator has the same refresh rate as Mammoth. The difference is that Dictator gets 20% more charge for actions than mammoth. So if the Dictator is actively doing actions in the battle, then its average refresh rate could be close to what Hunter and Hornet has.

For a (hopefully) better understanding:

Hornet and Hunter: Has to climb 20 steps and takes 2 steps each time until it reaches the 20th step.

Dictator: Has to climb 25 steps and takes 3 steps each time until it reaches the 25th step.

My issue was not with the sharing supplies part.  I have issue with boosting OD refresh rate.  2 dictators will ensure all other team-mates have virtually constant OD.  It is too much.

Then let's just remove the OD replenishment.

Goodbye teamwork...I guess? Reverting that mechanic after so long it has been implemented may not sit well. They may weaken it or alter it but I doubt they'd take it off.
