Looks like Viking is getting a slight buff. Those few seconds of being unable to fire after the Overdrive finished on some turrets were reduced. This should help with survivability a bit.

 

I'd rather if they increase its duration time to 10 seconds and increasing the period of time where are unable to shoot after it wears off by 1-2 seconds.

How long is it at the moment?   I mean - is it any longer than a stock Rail re-load?

I think it depends on the turret itself. Like for example if thunder reloads every 2.3 seconds at m4, then the time before it can shoot again after Viking OD wears off will be 2.3 seconds.

If that's the case then it's not a penalty... AND... then a decrease in time is actually a buff on the reload...

M4 Stock Railgun reloads a shot in 2.6 seconds. That's almost as fast as an M4 Thunder shot reload. 

 

Turrets like Twins and Ricochet had a very short delay after the Overdrive was finished given their fast reload times. Vulcan, Firebird, Freeze and Isida get to continue shooting.

So what is the "counter" to a Hornet-Rail OD?

Killing it as fast as possible, which is risking your life. If you're close to it, a Hunter Overdrive should take care of it. Hope your team has a one-shot turret that takes care of it quickly. 

 

If the Rail Hornet is peek-a-booing, there is not much you can do. A skilled Magnum can get it, but it'll take about 2 attempts at hitting the target.

Sure Hunter can disable it.  Unfortunately it's kinda hard to sneak up on an enemy that has radar and knows you are coming.

 

It was just weird when one poster claimed the OD was UP, and did not believe there were many of them around.  THEY ARE EVERYWHERE one-shotting medium hulls at will.

 

Perhaps the only counter: hacks.

It was just weird when one poster claimed the OD was UP, and did not believe there were many of them around.  THEY ARE EVERYWHERE one-shotting medium hulls at will.

That's if the Hornet is using a medium-long-range turret. The other turrets have to get in closer, which puts them in more danger. Hornet + Melee turrets need to catch them off-guard in order to be the most efficient. Ricochets will have a better chance of surviving from a good distance, especially if they're using MFS. 

 

But medium-long range turrets are the real threat as they can be out of sight and kill you quickly.

Since 70% of the Hornets are using Rail, I'd bank on this...  which was the whole reason for my post above.

 

There really is no defense against them... not Titan, not Hunter (due to ability to one-shot them), not Mammoth (5 seconds <<< 20 seconds), not Dictator, not Viking and not Wasp.

 

Only true option is to get the jump on them .... but then there's that radar thingy...

Hornet Overdrive is definitely OP.

 

There's only 3 things that can be done:

• Die

• Hope it didn't see you and run away

• Destroy it (easier said than done if it's a Railgun with DD)

I am so gd sick of overdrives, drones, certain turrets and a certain alteration. All of the above have has ruined this damn game. And I know everyone of you could care fricking less. They have taken what skill was in the game totally out of it. At first it was spend a little money, win some battles. It has gotten ridiculous. It has definitely turned into a big money pit. Is it possible to refine your so called formula? Say for instance, the ones that have it all verse's others that have it all/ Tanker's that have spent alot less, verse's others as well? Do you care that you have lost over 80% of your fans? What is left are old timers with old accts and new ones. I am one of them. Two weeks ago I created another acct. It was alot of fun at first. But when i reached the rank of warrant officer 1, the fun was over. I do not need to explain why. You had a good thing going TO. After 2016, your ideas have really done a job on your job security, most likely your income at least. Either change the effects of overdrives and drones, make it easier so everybody can obtain them, do something. We should be able to equip more than 3 modules. 4 or 5, how about that idea. Or would that be too much like right? For now, I will be back later!  P.S. For the ones that think this game still takes skill and strategy, you are full of it. I am not talking about your mom and dads credit card/your bank accounts either:)

That protection ignore ability needs a nerf. Like they should make it ignore up to 75% protection. That would be a lot better than a complete ignore of protections, IMO.

1: What overdrives, drones, turrets and alternation are annoying to you?

 

2: Technically, I still care. Juggernaut got ruined b/c of exploiter noobz. Now I won't be able to do Top 3 15x within short amount of time.

 

3: So are you saying ALL tankers became P2W like a plague? Alternativa need dollars somehow, but it was abused real bad like you said.

 

4:  Um.... are you trying to come up with a solution? Organizing by how much $$$ they threw to Alternativa?

 

5: Losing 80% of fan is... really tragic unfortunately. :( But this game is 10 years old now, it's normal to see tankers leaving the game even without bad updates. Those fans may have moved on in real life. I have a WO4 account and I had fun without heavy P2W. 

 

6: How would you want Overdrives and drones get nerfed? Brutus is ok, so no nerf needed. Overdrive is free, every single tankers get to use them, no dollars needed. Able to equip more modules is a double-edged sword though. If we have 5 module slots, we would have this combination to be the most common:

 

(Falcon-Fox-Griffin-Grizzly-Lion) 

 

And yes, I still believe this game need strategies and skills, not your parent's dollars.

Within 1.65 seconds or less (talking about LCR/Destabilized Shell). Not even a Hornet-Shaft can do that unless he/she have Booster Drone. 

 

'Least Shafts need to expose themselves for a while in sniper shot mode. Unless.... Using Booster + SBE, now THAT'S one shot kill in instant.

Every day on Renomen, I'm reminded of why I bought Thunder protection as soon as I could have. The thing takes down more than 50% of my HP with one shot, which with double damage, will one-shot me. And it doesn't help that it's a pretty common turret. I almost never have that module unequipped.

For you yes. But so far most common turret protections are the ones I listed. LOL, I already have M4 Eagle. Just need M4 Spider and my setup is complete. :) Here you go, you will need it! :lol:

LOL, the reason why my K/D does not build up fast is because of my module choice. If I equip Falcon Fox Grizzly, my K/D would improve faster. But no.... I did not.

Also, get rid of OD drop boxes.

Hunter OD is pretty OP. Kinda explains why recently I switched to playing team battles more frequently with Hunter than with my favourite hull Titan.

But I still use my dear Titan when it comes to playing DM.

If Tanki insists on keeping OD's, maybe limit them to 1-2 times per player in each MM battle.  Preferably one time.  It's out of hand as it is.

 

Also, get rid of OD drop boxes.

No, the whole fun of OD is when everyone sets theirs off at once and absolute carnage ensues. Such fun.

They will insist very much. And yes the out of hand is the intended effect.
