I wouldn't mind having Juggernaut's overdrive push when activating.

 

Curious... Will Juggernaut "unique damage" be able to penetrate Mammoth's sphere of impenetrablity?

I really don't know. When the hulls over drives are released and I become a juggernaut, I'm gonna go touch an overdriven mammoth to see what happens :P

But I think if tanki equip ever hull with their ability, will it start have some unfair issue because some hull's ability is op while some is useless


like hornet, that ability is useless if you have eyes

Ok so right now I'm seeing a lot of TDM battles where one team is just absolutely crushing the other team, and players from the winning team are just invading the losing team's base with overdrive and spawnkilling everyone on-sight, and since they basically have eternal overdrive from sharing it with everybody and the losing team doesn't it's near-impossible for the losing team to fight back. These games usually end like 100-20. 

 

This NEVER happened before overdrive was implemented. Please fix.

stronger gets even stronger and weaker gets even weaker ,thats how world works.

just leave the game before its to late and try to be on the stronger side.

Adjust the camera angle - VOILA!

 

Plus... you don't need any special ability to target the flag carrier.

Try seeing over a tall building halfway across the map or a wall on the other side of the map usign camera angle. It's not possible

Sure there are certain instances where it does not help.  But a lot of times the camera lets you "see" enemies hidden behind a wall that you really should not be able to see.  Plus random shots by Magnum and you see numbers for your damage.  Those numbers are just like "spotters", telling you your shots are close enough.

 

Plus there's that flag carrier thing you did not comment on ;)

But Horent gets to Damage all to full , even if they have protection 

that is the main thing of its OD the eyes is the second one 

TBH with this lot of XP combos will be seen in MM

I think Magnum users will like Hornet in the near future.

Is that the one that ignores resistance modules?

 

So they can equip DD then activate OD?  = 1-shot kills + almost 1-shot kills on everyone in the splash area?

And the slight, vulnerable hornet need not leave the protection of it's base to do this?

I think the hornet overdrive can see through walls so magnum users will be able to see where people are hiding.

I just watched the new vlog yesterday and it seems to me that Pony Tail Boy and the Dev's are still making the same mistakes. Even when they have a good idea they still do things to ruin it.

 

Take for example the new proposed overdrives. I have come to like the idea of the overdrives. I see huge potential in them, but I think it is a huge mistake to have them tied to specific hulls. I think it would be more popular and better received if the new overdrives were introduced as new modules that could be interchangeable between hulls. This would be in harmony with the stated purpose of the Dev's to make our tanks fully configurable to our preferences. We saw the disaster that the original protection scheme was and how much better it is since they fixed it by giving us free choice of what protections we want to run. Why is it so much better now? Quite simply because we now have choice and can more easily configure our protections to handle the most pressing threats we face in battle. It should be the same with the overdrives. It would fall in line with every other aspect of tank building in the game... Choice of turrets, Choice of hulls, Choice of protections, Choice of paints, and Choice of drones. Why would you lock overdrives in? Especially tying what will be probably the most desired overdrive to the least popular hull.

 

This is something that should seriously be considered, especially since the game is still hemorrhaging players. I'm not saying that the current proposal will kill the game, but the current proposal for overdrives is not ideal for helping retain or attract new players. If the overdrives were interchangeable between hulls it would make more current players happy with it, thus retaining them. Also it would add something to the game that, I think with all the other changes, would attract new players due to the added versatility and freedom of choice on tank builds. One of the things that causes players to quit playing certain games is frustration at not being able have the builds they want. I think forcing players to use certain hulls to be able to use a certain overdrive will add to that frustration. There are those who hate heavy hulls, but if they want shield or invulnerability they are forced to use them. There are those who love the current overdrive but most hate the Dictator. Speaking of which.... the current overdrive has become such an integral part of most team battles that it would be a serious frustration to many to lose that ability for one that they would have little use for.

 

Lastly how is the overdrive going to work now. When triggered in close proximity to others on the same team will it trigger that person's overdrive even if different from the person who initiated the overdrive? Will neighboring team members have the same overdrive activated as the person who  just activated theirs? These are questions that need to still be clarified and answered. 

 

I sincerely hope that Pony Tail Boy and the Dev's fully explore these possibilities before the release these new overdrives instead of stubbornly and in a narrow-minded way push ahead with this unfinished idea. It may even mean delaying it to get it right, but it would be worth it in the long run. It's a good idea and it's an opportunity that could improve the game, help retain players and attract new players, so it shouldn't be wasted by bad implementation. Like I said the number of players continues to go down. To stop it, every addition to the game needs to count. There is no more room for mistakes.

 

Hopefully Pony Tail Boy and the Dev's will listen. I hope that they will trust the Community. We know overdrives are coming. Some are looking forward to it, some aren't. I would hope that the Dev's would run a survey to see what we want for a change. Why not implement it in a way that will make the most players happy? It probably won't hurt and more than likely will improve your standing in the Community. Years of forcing changes down our throats has lead to people leaving the game in droves. If we feel like we're being listened too, even a little bit, then more people will probably stay. Save the game, allow player input.

Imagine mammoth guarding the flag. Now imagine it using the invincibility overdrive. Now imagine it using freeze M4 + corrosive mix + double damage.

I imagine it. I can also imagine a Wasp, Hornet, Hunter or Viking, waiting near the Mammoth but out of sight. Actually, not necessarily Hunter. Point still valid, I suppose. (Hornet ignores modules in overdrive, right?)

The whole point of overdrives is to give each hull a unique ability that will make that hull different from others. At the moment the main reason why developers aren't adding any new hulls is because any new hull will be too similar to an existing one, regardless of what kind of stats it gets. As soon as overdrives are implemented, each hull will gain a unique ability, so any new hull will just have a new overdrive (as well as different stats and looks), making it different from others.

 

So there's absolutely no way overdrives will be interchangeable between hulls.

Mammoth WILL be the ultimate camping hull once the overdrive is out. You're invincible and insta-kill tanks that touch you. All you need to do is sit on top of your flag and there is nothing the enemy can do but wait. DUMB.

They will be able to fire indefinitely. It was mentioned in one of the v-logs.

 

Has it ever been detailed how the Viking OD will be implemented?

 

Quicker re-load on... Fire/Freeze/Isida/Vulcan that have no re-load.

 

Or Twins that has re-load so quick how could it get faster?  (And more OP)

 

Or Shaft that relies on "charge-up" and not re-load (except for arcade).

If that happens, firebird and freeze, which are already OP will become all the more deadly and painful to railgunners and other long-rangers like me.

I don't care about DM , but DM is already dominated by the existing firebird and once the new overdrives come out, you'll see nothing but firebird on viking in DM. Another reason why I prefer the old overdrive system is because of hornet's proposed new one. It'll affect me as I use only Hornet-Railgun and the OD for Hornet is completely useless. I'll be happy (somewhat) if at least Hornet can retain the supplies OD like Dictator.

This is the first time I've ever criticized one of Tanki's updates. I have, so far, been in full favour of Tanki's other updates.

Matchmaking is way better. Till the update came, I was tired of half-empty battles. My only grudge against the new missions system if the fact that in one of the missions, we have to get to 3 positions in the Winner's Team . I almost always get top 3 or even 2 in my team. This, however , is not always on the winner's team as I get a team of noobs where only I (and maybe one other guy) play well and the opp. team is full of pros. Not, the ranks , in this case, but high-ranking noobs. My team once had a WO.5 with the tornado kit and he didn't even know how to use railgun, so the opp. team won.
