Ah yes, I remember you Hikki, from that time I gave you many Dictator Overdrives and you obtained 37 kills with it. I always remembered your name when I see that number, "37".

I had to face you again on another account. I use my mammoth's Overdrive with speed boost on, and you still outran me. And the speed at which your Viking outran me, made me feel useless against you.

Medium hulls can outrun it people. Chasing a light hull is a joke with 5 seconds. You have the most chance against another Mammoth, but you'd still need to be prety close for the 5 seconds to not finish before you start damaging them.

I see mammoth killing naive Juggernaute. It is not always possible, however it is easier on small map or medium map when the jug is hiding in a corner.

I mean, I just got killed by a Mammoth Overdrive as the Juggernaut. I couldn't go anywhere as the person I had killed's tank was blocking the way. It was also in Massacre where the hills are and going up those hills as Juggernaut is a nightmare. You'd have to trap it in a corner or sneak up on it for you to kill it with Mammoth's Overdrive. The former is more reliable.

I have been outrunning it with Heavy hulls.

That just means that the wasp you faced, placed it at the wrong place / moment or whatever.

Or you were already partly behind the wall that was between you and the bomb.

So many players use the word "easy" way too casually.  Not sure they understand what it means

Well, that's kind of the point. From my personal experience, Wasp's OD is less effective and harder to pull off compared to other OD's in forcing other's into such situations as discussed earlier here. It does not mean that it cannot happen or that it cannot be used effectively, it's just that i personally do not find it as threatening as others from my experience on the battlefield.

I am pretty sure some do.

Finally got to see the fixed tick damage of my Overdriven Vulcan during a Mammoth hunt. With double damage and Viking's Overdrive, my Vulcan was doing 305 damage per tick. My Vulcan's damage at the time was 578 per second. I remember that I was dealing a constant 135 damage per tick on a Mammoth (I with double damage and the Mammoth with double armour). That adds up to 540 per second, which is off since my Vulcan's damage at the time was 578.

I had no drone equipped. I wasn't sure if the Mammoth had a drone equipped. And even if it did, it would need to be a Brutus drone at 13/14 upgrades for it to downgrade my damage to 540 per second. I did see two Brutus DRones on 2 Mammoths but I wasn't sure if one of them was the same one I shot.

So yeah, it's kind of hard to determine Vulcan's exact damage boost with Viking's Overdrive but I got closer to finding it.

I kinda like the overdrives -at least the differences of overdrives attached to every hull.

The biggest problem I find is the quick reloading of the overdrive. This makes the game all-to-reliant on it.

When the charging of overdrives would be slower (f.i. only 2 times max per battle or maybe even 1?) the effect would be more special.

It would improve battles, as it forces you to apply overdrive tactically.

I play hornet rail mainly. With the current (fast) recharging it is becoming too easy.

I do not know how fast the other overdrives recharge, but if it has a similar speed, I would suggest tweaking the charging time instead of the effects.

Beginner’s Guide to Overdrives

This is the basic charge, which can be improved by participating in the battle, using Driver drone, meeting with Dictator and catching Energy supply drop.

Thanks for the info :)

Taken that a MM match lasts max 7min, this means you can get at least 2 to 3 times a charged overdrive in battle. Again I think it would be more exciting if this would be changed into 1 to 2 times (where getting the second one is dependent on how you fare in battle). Somewhere around 3 min instead of 2?

Does Hornet OD bypass spider-mine protection?

Can confirm. Was in an Osa ASL match recently where I put down a mine in the Blue Team's dome while having Scout Radar active. The poor enemy Hornet with 50% Spider protection must have been very confused to get instakilled like that with one mine. There's countless other examples where I've used the radar solely to get me the full mine damage. So, yes, all equipment including turrets and hulls give out full damage regardless of protection, DA, or dome.

Excuse me?! I may have missed this if someone said it months ago, but Viking's Overdrive affects mines as well?

Was your OD active at the time? It seems to be inactive at the time you took the image.

5000 damage with a single mine is insane to say the least. I have never seen such damage with the "Reactor" before, not even while using Viking-Magnum with a maxed Booster on the test server.

I think that info's obsolete as of now. Today's JGR definitely takes longer than 40 seconds to replenish it's OD charge.

I played TJG all the last 14 days  (over 25 hours) and this was the timing I measured.

The TJG charge is not affected by other battle actions, only Dictator's OD boost it. So it is kind of long compare to a wasp that killed a couple of tanks.

ETA: Yeap, I just played it now and it was 40s (no more, no less). So I reconfirm my value on the chart: 40s. This is the easiest stuff to check. An ex-reporter like me do some bit of research before putting stuff in a guide. However, the most difficult part is the % boost of the battle actions, with the lag and watnot, Congospider and I have different findings. That is why I only gave indication (~), no point to be too precise with Nuttel-ra changing the game paramteres like he changes his socks.

Yes, it was last second of it, as you can see by the last two damage ticks before the mine kill. I had taken it after I had noticed a 4-figure death number starting with 5. It was a Mammoth and it went up the ramp and an awkward angle that made me stop doing damage to it and then did the last 2 ticks before it touched the mine.

I've gotten 6,000+ damage on my 10/20 Magnum with Viking's Overdrive and no Booster Drone. 'Twas in a Sandbox battle. It must've been a lucky shot.

The numbers for Vulcan just aren't adding up, at least consistently with the other turrets. From what I've gathered during the Pumpkin Hunt, Vulcan gets a 2.3x damage boost with Viking's Overdrive + double damage, which isn't consistent with the 2.5x damage boost the other turrets sans melee turrets get.

What's confusing is that drones may have been involved, but the only drone that could have given me those numbers was a Brutus Drone with at least 16 upgrades. And I don't recall the Mammoth having a Brutus Drone, it looked like the outline of a Driver drone. And regardless, I did it on other Mammoths that produced the same numbers, which makes it even more confusing.

During the Pumpkin Hunt was my best chance to get this done as quickly as possible.
