After seeing viking's overdrive would anyone really think they're all balanced?

What's a bomb or x-ray vision or disabling electric field gonna do? Nothing is gonna stop the rapid firing rate, you're gonna die in no time.

For example, the damage of isida with viking's overdrive and a double damage is 8000 per second (found that from the v-log figures)... sheesh!

No sane person would dare to attack a Viking that has the turret staring at them, it's better to flank them instead.

And think of the hardships the Viking would have to go through to get the overdrive ready when they're not using firebird, freeze, isida, or twins.

Hunter can activate its OD more often in an 8 minute battle than Viking can.

I honestly think that hornets OD is more oriented towards teamwork.

And about the Viking OD, yes it's OP, but that's because Viking itself is weak. Besides it only last for 30 seconds if that. And most people can activate OD at least twice in MM battles. And it doesn't have The immortality ability in its overdrive that mammoth has, so it pretty much can be killed during its OD duration.

30 seconds? WTH?!?!

I'm well aware of that. But that's half my complaint. I earned the overdrive, just like everyone else, so I should be the one rolling in its power, just like everyone else. But I don't, because I'm the only hull who has to split their power with the whole team*.

*I know I'm not technically "splitting" the power, but they probably reduced the overdrive's boost on the Hornet itself in favor of making it affect teammates, so it's essentially splitting power.

But all I get is a near-useless x-ray vision and a useful but still underpowered protection ignore ability, and a boost to my teammates (who did not earn the overdrive) which gives me little in return. Because I'm the one hull that the devs arbitrarily decided to add their only "team-oriented overdrive" to.

If you want to use the overdrive all for yourself and cause your team to be spawn killed, then that's on you. But do you know what an experienced or skilled player can do with this information? If someone has been spawn killing your team for quite a long time, your best players in the team will be able to locate them and dispatch them.

If viking is defending that's going to make the overdrive charge for a longer time yes, however, hunter would also need to be constantly on the move if its overdrive were to charge faster. And I don't see what is preventing any turret other than the ones you've stated above from killing a player who's trying to avoid them, just makes the job easier cause there won't be any resistance.

I guess we need to know how long each overdrive will last to be able to judge them better.

How do you figure?

OD is driven by time + battle-score

If Viking OD allows player to kill many enemies quickly, their OD will be refreshed sooner.

And... Hunter needs to be near an enemy to activate it - Viking does not.  With magnum, Viking does not even need LOS.

Hunter is more stable than Viking which means it can get a lot more damage in than viking

Not if the Viking is a magnum hiding behind a building.  Imagine how fast the mines will build up if magnum has the Mortar alteration.

Or a Firebird/Viking with Incendiary Mix.  What would DPS be of that?

We don't know how fast the firing rate of Viking, the the demonstration from vlog could just be a ruse, meaning it may have been taped at the time, and it could already be getting a nerf between now and the release date.

I'd make good use of those prop corners, and then activate the OD there.

Ok, I'm not sure if you noticed but for a while now, after you activate your Overdrive, you would realise that getting kills, assists, capturing a point, capturing a flag etc would not contribute to the Overdrive % bar. Usually when it hits 11% is when I am able to fill it by doing those actions. If it was like the way you stated then you would be seeing players who use 5+ Overdrives in one Assault battle on the red team because they would be capping so many flags.

Having it the way you thought it was would be very unbalanced.

I hope Viking's OD isn't too powerful. It is already everywhere, so if it had a good overdrive even more people would use it. I was hoping it would have a weaker ability to encourage people to choose other hulls

Viking is weak, it's instability is what makes it so weak.

Thats what people say...I know about instability as I love wasp. Can you explain then why viking is like 75% of hulls on a given battle and in esports everyone uses viking. Also, with any close range turrets, or rail/thunder/striker/magnum stability does not matter, only speed and hp. I have been using hunter lately but not because it feels better but rather because its different from what everyone else uses. I bet fewer that 10% of users would have a medium hull other than viking as their main hull

They're idiots if they use it for anything but close ranged weapons.

The extra 0.5 units of speed is not worth the loss of an immense 300 units of weight.

Calling them idiots is not an argument...not that you're wrong, but those idiots would include basically every esports player I've seen as well as...well every player except a few. One would have to explain why everyone uses viking

Maybe they think they are skilled enough to not miss, idk. But what I do know is that the moment I bought m2 viking, I instantly regretted it, I was being knocked all over the place, and there weren't any real advantages to using it, I just felt like a worthless mult every time I used Viking, even though I could get a pretty decent KD out of it.

Now that I use hunter m2.5 all the time, my m2.4 Viking has been collecting rust, dust, and even cobwebs.

Your account is hard to understand. You only have 28 hours with Hunter, but 400 with viking. You have 400 with Rail, but its M1..what combos have you played with over time?

The rail was before I got any m2s. And then I got Viking, which for a long time I had to suffer the instability, in hope that the devs would give back it's stability it once had I even MUed it to m2.4 to give it a bit more weight but to no avail. Finally I gave up hoping that Viking would ever get back it's stability, and I switched to the OP hull, that is hunter, a couple weeks before tankers day, and I've been using it since.

I'll have to try it again...other times I've used Viking it has felt OP but maybe I was wrong

Keep a lookout for turrets like twins, ricochet, smoky, thunder, and railgun. These have the most affect on Viking in their respective range.

Lots of players with long range turrets simply rush and fight just like Twins. No sniping. Viking is good for close range because of its height. It can easily get under enemies, flip them, climb on them or whatever. It is like a ramp.

Hunter is better than Viking at medium and long range but very specialised snipers (or gold hunters) use Dictator because of its height and turret position. I prefer Hunter over Viking and Dictator (I am camper/midfielder) but most players do not.

I currently use Titan or Hornet because they are my only M2 hulls but I would probably use Hunter if I had M2.

i think they need to add somthing to dictator cuz the others seem 2 op

also the blast radius and damage of the bomb seem way 2 op

does any 1 else thing this will make the game more unrealistic...i get its unfelistic as it is but honestly, it had good phiycs, ok balance, most weps are based from real life, but like, forcefeilds (titan), invincability (mam), like aint they taking it a little too far, can we just keep the old game where it was tanks shooting at eachother?

like if you agree

if you dont reply n tell me y cuz i dont even understand the point, i think its gonna ruin the game

Devs are already too into it for them to look the other direction.
