50% for yourself 50% for fund (Crystals)

If you destroyed a tank, you see the fund increases by a small amount...

 

 

Imagine,

 

you are drugging a lot and trying to help your team win, but your team is a total waste and you are losing, at the end after the match was lost, you don't even get 25% of crystals for the drugs you used!!
 

What if you get 50% of the crystals from the small amount that adds up to the fund, the other 50% goes to the battle fund.

 

 

 

Advantages:
- People will always have money to buy drugs

- Losing team will at least get something

- People will go for more kills if this was possible

 

 

Just an idea  ;)

Crystals given directly for kills is a popular suggestion that many other players proposed before. Developers rejected it every time, saying that if this were to happen, players would no longer have incentive to stay until the end of the battle and try to win. Imagine if you're winning, but suddenly a bunch of "buyer druggers" join the losing team and start catching up. Of course you would just leave, since you already got part of the battle fund and there's no point staying to lose.

 

Besides, all games would be a lot less competitive since there is not much to compete for. Just join, shoot a bit, complete your missions, get 50% of the crystals for your score and leave.

Developers rejected it every time, saying that if this were to happen, players would no longer have incentive to stay until the end of the battle and try to win. Imagine if you're winning, but suddenly a bunch of "buyer druggers" join the losing team and start catching up. Of course you would just leave, since you already got part of the battle fund and there's no point staying to lose.

Its already not worth staying because of the tiny amount of crystals you get.

The amount you get should be just enough to allow you to comfortably upgrade at least one turret, one hull and one module without speed-ups. If you want anything else you either have to invest more time into gameplay or buy crystals with money.

When players abandon a losing team the rewards they were going to get should be divided among it's former team mates. That would be my solution. It's a rough idea.

Many battles are so lopsided you don't even get that...  7-1 CTF?   100-23 CP? 

 

You are lucky to get 73 crystals.  For 15 min.  Even if you performed well (say... 5th overall score with 16 tankers).

That's why you see most of higher ranks on one team - they are not gonna join the team already soaked with lower-ranks.

 

(Which leads to another issue - rank-brackets are way to large).

I hope there are plans to change the rank brackets once Matchmaking is implemented. There will be more tanks in each battle so no need to artificially pad the battles with low ranks.

I agree that CTF is a problem, but CP definitely is not. In fact, I actually enjoy CP a lot more now because the (already not so new) CP mechanics that allow the losing team to quickly catch up make games unpredictable and rather exciting. A single gold box or a good sequence of overdrives can bring the score from 50-0 to 25-25 within a couple minutes. And the map variety makes CP much more exciting, with the multiple point placement adding the need to think with point you need to go to, rather than the mindless "spawn, go mid, die, repeat" pattern we had when 90% of CP battles was on Polygon (as it still is in PRO battles).

 

At least half of the CP games I played in the past few days were very close throughout the whole 15 minutes and ended with a score gap of no more than 3-4 points. Quite a few came down to a matter of seconds in the end.

 

As for CTF - the situation is worse here. I feel that it might be because of groups of "buyer" friends going into games and dominating the other team with their power, but not sure about that. Either way it's still better than before, and quite a few games end up being evenly matched, without a massive flag difference in the end.

^I agree on what you said about CP battles. Though, my feelings about CTF are different. I actually feel that CTF battles, especially at higher ranks, haven't been more unbalanced than ever before due to one team dominating the other one severely (because of supply usage).

Easy solution: do not give crystals until the end of the battle.

 

Also, no reason to compete? Half of the fund generated by kills, as well as fund generated by capturing flags and so on would still be given out the same way as today.

 

I think that this would be a great incentive for people to stay in losing battles.

No. Now crystals are handed out according first to your team's score and then to your score. If half of the crystals are handed out that way, and the other half according to your kills, the reward system would be different, because if you put a lot of effort in a battle but ended up losing, you'd get something for your effort.

You get score from kills, so more kills = higher score = greater reward. And if this proposed system is to include kills only, then the really valuable players who capture points and steal flags will get less crystals than what they deserve.

I think OP was referring to fact that when on losing team, you always get < 50%.

 

Losing team gets max 40% of fund, which is split then among the palyers. If you score high you obviously get more than rest of your losing team, but often get less than even the worst on the losing team - even if you doubled their score.

 

So if you are guaranteed 50% of your personal kills + the 40% (or whatever) of the remaining battle-fund, you likely come out ahead.

By same token poor performers on losing team will get less.

 

But - just occurred to me - Isidas - can heal a lot (50% of their score or more) - so this proposed system will short-change them. So kills can't be only consideration.

The problem is that the share for the losing team is basically peanuts, so higher score means just some more peanuts. A bigger part of the losing team's share is not worth the higher score that you need. Therefore, players just leave a losing team because staying is not worth the trouble. This makes battles fun for neither the losing nor the winning team.

 

The proposed system could easily be changed so that half of the fund is handed out according solely to score and the other half according to the current system. This would hopefully make it worthwhile to stay in a losing team and help alleviate the problem.

HAHA exactly. Its sad that the in games currency has expensive things that costs like 60-100k for an m2 but yet a 500-1k reward after a battle is actually pretty good. I mean for goldboxs are 1k and they dont show up every game and its really good when you get one yet it does little to nothing to help you get that next upgrade you want.
