Kill still given if the enemy self-destructs

 Share

Recommended Posts

Look, 99% of Magnum/Thunder players are perfectly happy to self destruct themselves so that you can't get a kill. This needs to change. I absolutely HATE charging at a Magnum/Thunder because I know I will never get any EXP for doing it.

Basically, last person to damage the suicide guy gets the kill. The damage the suicider received is broken up and the 15 EXP is split among the people who contributed to the assisted suicide (or just 10 if you are the only one who damaged the suicider).

Also applies to Ricochet, Twins, Hammer, and Vulcan whose suicides may be more accidental or inevitable.

Under review

Not sure why no one has posted this before (or maybe someone has), since it seems like such an obvious idea. I think I agree. The kill should definitely be given, even if not all the time, then at least if the player did over 50% of the damage before their enemy self-destructed.

increase penalty to 15 xp and problem solved

Guys, it's not about penalizing thunders and magnums. It's about rewarding players who spent time to try to kill the thunder. Many thunders and magnums would choose to kill themselves, like they just shoot the nearest wall, and lose point instead giving you EXP when they know they can't kill you with their next shot. I don't use any of these on my main, but I get so annoyed when I don't get anything back trying to kill the thunder/magnum.

Self destructing or killing your own teammates is a strategic element in eSports.. At the exoense of being m.i.a for a couple seconds and losing all planted mines apart from getting a full heal and all supplies ready to use again you also prevent the enemy from charging their overdrive.

Don't remove this strategic element from eSports.

???

You can still do this. All I am talking about is just giving the people who contributed to bringing the person's health down some credit and EXP for trying to kill that person.

Simple. Thunder kills himself (on purpose or by accident), I get my exp for making his/her self-Destruction possible. It's not fair if I spend effort trying to kill a thunder user and then they just kill themselves. Same applies to all self-damaging weapons.

Nice, you basically posted the exact same idea as the one you posted 2 years ago ?

I would have wanted it as an assist rather than a kill.

Yeah, 5 points sounds reasonable.

Simple solution, just don't charge at them. Otherwise those turrets should be compensated with more points for killing you while you're within their safe zone that is is equal to their turrets splash radius.

What?

That's part of the strategy fighting splash damage turrets that can hurt even when u cant see them.

Makes perfect sense to get awarded at least some score for damaging them and/or forcing them to self destruct.

It's up to the splash turret to keep it's distance.  Else - why not award vulcan more points for killing a tank within it's radius of crappy rotation...

Just don't get in close. Besides this idea will just encourage people to ram instead of using actual skill.

See a splash turret? No worries, ram it, you get points for it anyway.

This idea is like saying, that since Vulcan OH, we should get points when it dies because we made it OH.

Just a really lazy way to get points IMO.

Hey - you're forcing the Vulcan to keep firing because it just can't kill you - AND you damage it - why not?

Key part is - you have to actively do something to it.

I'm not suggesting just ramming a splash turret will get you score.  Like, why would it SD if you aren't even damaging it?

Then what are you suggesting?

That if you damage a splash turret and it then self-destructs due to splash, the attacker should get at least an assist - instead of nothing just because the thunder killed itself.

Exp based on damage dealt should be given, so many thunder wasp self destruct to make our efforts go in vain, so give points based on damage percentage dealt. Also kill thieves suck.

Not bad but in reallity you didnt really kill him so who ever has a splash damage gun has the right to self-destruct and not giving points to the enemies, it would not be fair to earn points for something you didnt do , and is very rare for that to happen , the only thing you can say is RIP 15 xp.

And why is the splash turret user self destructing?

If you did 90% of the damage?  You actually did something, no?  It exactly the same thing as getting an assist.  You damage the target and someone else finishes it off.

And when are you going to "self destruct not to give points to enemies"?  DM?  That's not even part of MM anymore, so that does not apply to like... 90% of the battles that happen.

Self damage - from the splash.
"if you damage a splash turret and it then self-destructs due to splash"
