Shaft improvement

When you are on scoping mode using shaft, you should be able to cancel the scope without fireing by right clicking on your mouse instead of clicking enter every time. I think it would be much easier if you could add an option to cancel it by right clicking on your mouse.

 

 

 

and also something for keyboard..

Press the 'P' on your keyboard, that will exit scope mode without shooting. Then just press any normal key to continue (because you entered Pause mode).

To this point, I would say this.  Time It takes to enter into charge is 4 seconds, thus, maybe 250 energy could be burnt off and this way, a shaft in scope being flanked could at least exit scope, fire arcade, and then retreat.  This would add a second to the time required to enter into scope, effectively penalizing the player that does it willy nilly, but still affords them the opportunity to defend themselves or exit scope and move (the assumption being that movement effectively negates the regained charge if it's for seeking a new camp, while still allowing the player the ability to at least a get a shot off while being accosted from a flank.

 

Hell, take 500 energy if you need to, just not all of it.  Lets remember that the "upgrade" on shafts scope was really no upgrade at all.  More zoom meant a narrow tunnel.  So what if I can shoot over my teammates shoulder a little better, what I need is long range pin point shots, but I still need SOME field of vision to hunt for targets.  It was a nerf from the start.  No one asked for it, no one needs it, no one has claimed better game play for it, and the loss of field of vision means camping is harder since you have to wave your laser around EVEN more to scan for targets.

 

This at least gives shafts a way to not camp the "laser light" experience and even move a  little more and better support the team where they are needed.

 

Now, that said, if someone wants to implement NO ENERGY loss, you won't hear complain, but, if there is one thing hated or maligned more than any other in Tanki, it's Shaft, so not gonna ask for anything that might make all the little hater pop up and whine.

Would we lose the charge we've built up in doing this or would start where we left off?

 

Or make a paint that is close to true chameleon-like camoflauge but only available for shaft since the devs won't remove the scope laser.

If you press 'P' you will lose the charge you have built up because you have exited scope mode. So the next time you go into scope mode you will start charging from the beginning.

Scope mode and normal firing can be controlled by different buttons. E.g: Pressing spacebar = normal shooting ; Pressing F button = scope mode. Or something like that!

And create an alteration for Smoky that removes the critical hit and replaces it with a paintball round that changes your paint to Watercolour for 20 seconds
