Let's Discuss Juggernaut

Couldn't find an appropriate topic to put this in so I put it here. One thing I cherish is that some players are actually not hostile when the time is right. I queued into Juggernaut on the Test Server and I was the only one there for 1 minute. About 15 seconds into the battle, a gold box dropped.

Gold-by-itself.png

When the minute was up, there was a small influx of players joining. One of them was test_GT. I made sure to appear non-hostile while rocking my tank back and forth next to the gold box. He then went to the ramp next to it.

We played STG together until someone had finally took it.

I eventually got stuck but was able to get back up. I then got killed by the same person who took the gold. He/She pledged peace and everyone was happy.

The Test Server really is a nice place to relax with non-hostile tankers in MM battles. I'm just glad that everyone felt the same way and no one had an insatiable desire to ruin any good thing they see.

This truly does put a smile on my face.

No offence, but I can't be put in to a JGR battle at all. I keep timing out of the loading queue, which I think is 4 minutes. To be clear, it's not that it doesn't load, it's that I'm not even placed in a battle. Other modes, yes, but JGR doesn't work.

You were queuing during a time where the number of players online is at a minimum. It would be unlikely that you would be placed into a battle.

Someone in the chat complained about MM not putting him into any DM battles and it was almost time for the server restart.

I think Juggernaut is the least played mode. Either that or Assault. It would be nice if we got some statistics on this.

Yeah, but apparently there is no limit to rank gaps. So... there weren't 8 other people trying to play JGR?

I am confident that there is some limit to the rank gaps. So I don't think Legends or Marshals queuing for a JGR battle would be placed with a Third Lieutenant.

Question and answer book, here I come... oh wait, @Maf already said he didn't think there were any...

what i absolutely hate is that now hulls have become attacking tools as well, hulls are there for protection. look at what mammoth has done? it is become the #1 hull for ppl who barely have any skill, these days you see mammoth in every map no matter how big it is

look at wasp, plant a bomb and run away like nothing even happened. hulls are supposed to protect you instead of doing damage to enemies

I saw a Third Lieutenant Mammoth/Freeze M0 in Highways JGR...

I only realised this when I saw a few of them in one battle.

The players who buy the Siberian Kit in the Shop at Sergeant-Major have a HEAVY against the other players in Juggernaut mode. I was always thinking that maybe I'd be powerful since my M1 equipment is almost M2 at WO2 but these players already have an M2 Turret (and posisble M3) meaning they're doing a lot more damage than I am.

Assuming they have a few upgrades on the turret, these players are one-shotting M1 Vikings. If they have the Freeze at M3, these players can one-shot any heavy hull that isn't close to 10/10 upgrades.

This is bogus and Freeze is a very effective weapon. No wonder I see them dominating as the Juggernaut, getting kill after kill on every shot.

Didn't realise I typed that in the Let's Discuss Matchmaking Thread.

This is why we have to be careful of giving Juggernaut too much health and damage. We already have players doing this;

Safari was the first Juggernaut in that battle and he died when he reached 43 kills. He then obtained it a bit later and ended the battle.

Luckily juggernaut does not benefit from microupgrades (Bug? Or wrong wiki?) I have played the mode a lot, and even a 20/20 striker m0 did m0 damage with terminator... Also a friend with freeze m2 10/10 also said he does m2 damage (This is still very powerful, but at least not insanely broken with m3 juggernaut vs m0-1s).

However I do think it has to take a reduced effect from freeze, as soon as you end up near one if you don't have OD ready to launch them in the air, you are dead, no matter what. And there are at least 5 freezes per match...

Well that's...somewhat good? With how it is now, Juggernaut heavily favours the players who bought M2s early. The players with M1 10/10s or close to that wouldn't be able to do as great as the M2s do. Considering how much damage M2 Terminator does with its Railgun, it's able to one-shot all M1 medium hulls. To make sure if we were left in the dark or not, I checked the Russian Wiki and you were right, each modification is locked and not dependent on micro-upgrades. Even some parameters are upgradable now. It may be a bit more fair now in the mid ranks but definitely not in the low ranks.

Yeah, there are a lot of Freezes in the Warrant Officer ranks and a lot of them are M2s. They neak up on you and sometimes, you would activate your Overdrive and they would stay upright while the other tankers fly away. One Freeze is enough to take down the Juggernaut. Going by the statistics of M3 Freeze vs M1 Juggernaut (because most of the Freezes I see down there have more than 4,200 GS while using an M1 hull and only one 25% protection module with the others at 15% or less), M3 Freeze can kill an M1 Juggernaut with double damage in 6 seconds. And that's assuming that no one else is attacking the Juggernaut. It definitely needs maybe 50% temperature protection (just the freezing effect, not the damage of the Freeze).

I see it as a "so so" because on one hand I would benefit from the microupgrades on my titan and striker (10/10 for titan and 3/10 for striker) when I become the juggernaut but on the other, if an m2 m2 combo takes the juggernaut and they're fully mued, nobody would be able to kill them short of viking railgun with overdrive (that specific combo does more damage than any other with viking, what's up with that? It's the only combo that can actually kill titan inside it's dome with viking) or another freeze m2...

Some extremely annoying ones are wasp freezes, they would freeze you then lay a bomb, and oh boy! Keeping a sight on all the freezes in a match is of essence, but it's also thrilling to be the juggernaut.

I have enjoyed the mode a lot since I finally reached the rank to get both striker m1 (750-930 damage did not cut it :( ) and cyclone alteration, though maybe it could get more hp? If the enemy isn't smart enough to load rockets against me, I can cause a lot of trouble to them... I can entirely destroy an m1 juggernaut in 1 salvo with DD, assuming all 8 rockets hit the spot.

Also brest and kungur are quite unfair as maps... I once spawned as jgr on the top in a brest, and I killed 26 people in a row (with near no effort I must add) and I only got stopped because a lucky rail viking spawned on the other side of the building with overdrive ready (If it kills a titan inside a dome, a juggernaut is an easy pick  ),

For Kungur there's that specific angle from which there are only 2 entrances, this entirely nullifies any short/medium range turret as they can't ever get to him alive, so most kungurs end up as a regular dm with the juggernaut sometimes killing whoever tries...

I was going to show the effects of an M2 player as the Juggernaut against M1 players until I noticed something rather peculiar in this battle.

More than half of the players were stationary and all except one were Second Lieutenants

Is this a new type of hack?

If not, is this what players have come to just to win or was this guy just lucky to be the Juggernaut in this battle?

Edit: Oh, and at the end, when players were leaving, only 5 had left before I left. I stayed to take the screenshot and only 5 players in that time left and those 5 players were the ones with kills and sede_PRO.

Juggernaut is not hard to defeat nowadays due to the fact that we have Viking's "No reload and damage increase" overdrive.

But this mean Juggernaut will have difficult time to survive.... :(

Oh yes, another Juggernaut mishap:

I was waiting until my tank spawned when the guy who was put as the Juggernaut at the start of the battle plopped down, then immediately did a backwards wheelie, then went back on the ground, then flew into the wall until someone came and killed him.

hacker-Jug.png

You know how Mammoths and Titans look when they're just enough away from the epicentre of a Wasp's bomb and they kind of do a wheelie or an endo form the impact force? yeah, it looked exactly like that.

Presumably it's all one person taking advantage of how rare JGR battles are to join with 15 accounts and power level them all...

Here this guy is again and doing the same wheelie action as he did with the Juggernaut in the scenario yesterday. I'm making a report.

El-hacker.png

He was almost perpendicular to the ground before I took this screenshot. Nothing touched him there. I realised it was him again earlier in the battle and when I went close to him, his Titan was really jumpy.

Haven't played JGR in a while, but it looks like this mass AFK thing is still happening, ann with a certain characteristic as well. Mine was almost all of the players being the same rank, while this one has the AFK players being Wasps.

The juggernaut mode must become a team battle. Juggernaut battles would also become more interesting as well.

I mean, it's confirmed already, the V-Log was already posted before you said this.

I am interested in the team mode, so I can heal juggernauts with my almost m4 isida.

Me too. That would be interesting to heal juggernauts with Isida. The only drawback there is, is that Isida does not have enough healing points of HP to fully heal juggernaut players because an M4 juggernaut would have 20,000 HP.

To fix that drawback, developers would need to develop another turret that can heal juggernauts at a much faster rate. The turret would be similar to Isida but somewhat different in its gameplay mechanics characteristics.

Actually, if isida is m4 and has support nanobots active with double damage, it can heal exactly 20000 hp before running out of energy. So it should be fine :D
