Is the saboteur drone worth it?

Is it active throughout an entire battle (for example when I press 5 will it always lay multiple mines) or is it only active for short periods of time?

It has a cool down period of 40 seconds, which is the time you have to wait before it's able to place multiple mines again.

I think it's worth buying only if you can afford to upgrade it adequately. Anything less than 4 mines would seem like a waste honestly.

Hi!

I have issues with the drone Saboteur. It places only 1 mine , not several mines (even if I have mines and batteries). Can anyone help me? Possible some admin?

Thank you.

You either don't have the drone equipped or the drone was on cooldown. The cooldown of saboteur is 10s longer than a single mine reload, so you won't always place multiple unless you wait a little more between placements.

This is weird... My isida at 17/20 with brutus (1.9%) should deal exactly 1000 dps. It rightfully does under regular situations... But when I activate double damage, I get 247/494. This makes the drone entirely useless for my isida and I've wasted batteries...

If you're getting 247 damage in the first place, it means you were dealing 100% damage. 494 is exactly double that.

Note that Drones also give % protection against turrets, so if an enemy has a drone equipped, your damage is then decreased. It's on a Marshal account, which means you'd be playing with legends or players around that rank, who'd have some upgraded drones, which nullify the 1.9% damage increase your Isida gets. If they have a drone with more than 1.9% defence, then your damage is decreased.

I deal 125/250  per tick without double damage, but 247 with dd vs da.

This battery discharging mechanism is very bad. You just join a battle and 1 battery is consumed… what if I don't like map? At least let me move my tank n than do what ever you wanna do.

2nd I have noticed battery is being consumed at the end of battle looking at scored table. LoL? What is that? Happened in 5-6 battles.

Have you been using your drones all the time or just when you need them?

hey do some drones actually use more batteries than 1 per minute or was this an issue that has been fixed.... pls tell us exactly how many batteries each drone consumes each minute

It was fixed, although I do not think it was an "issue".

All Drones should consume 1 battery per minute.

We are speaking for full MU  in hull drone and protection so u have 3 65% protection and 15% protection in all others turrets so i can i say it is useful if it works.

It would be good if they put it in tab menu so we can see it and be sure that it works.

Thanks for the answer i hope devs see this.

That's not how the game mechanics work. The protection symbol you see in the Tab Menu relate to the protection module and how much it is upgraded only. It definitely does work, drones aren't there to trick you, they do exactly what it says on the tin (aka in their garage description). If you want to see it working for yourself clearly, make a private map and invite a friend and shoot them with and without the drone, you will definitely notice the difference if it is fully upgraded.

I can not see the reason to not put it in tab menu so everyone can know the protection of every player in the game but anyway thats something only the devs can fix.

And why not show this in garage when drone is equipped.  TX (I know it's a different game) did this, and TO could as well.

If they put details of one drone in the Tab Menu, they would need to do all of them, and there simply isn't enough room. You can't add one statistic for one piece of equipment and leave all the other drones out. The Tab Menu as it is, is clean and easy to understand. It will be confusing to see a load of drone statistics cluttering up the screen.

The numbers already exists they just need to do the maths and add the extra defence you have with the drones.

If they do not show the extra defence from drones then why they show us the modules everyone has and their defence?

I do not find any reason behind this.

Because you will not have 60% protection the whole time. The drone only grants a damage benefit when it is recharged and you won't respawn each time with it fully ready. How will they show Saboteur drone statistics for example? But this is going off topic now. If you want this idea to be considered, then I suggest you post a topic here but please make sure you read the guide first. Or even better discuss it here.

Ok in tab menu exist the score and go up if  u kill or cap a flag and go down if u self destruct right? the mechanism alredy exist in the game so i do not find it so difficult to make the same thing with the drone extra defence statics when u have an active drone in the game.

The other things u write i find of the off - topic from the question i had. I do not want to know if someone can put 1 mine or 8 mines or if he can prologue his supplies or ovedive with the drones.

I want to know if someone with active drone has 1%-5% extra defence and if someone with active brutus drone have 1%-15% extra defence because it is basic element of the game.

I started using drones recently.

I noticed that even if I use a drone for many days, my profile only shows that I used it for 0.x number of hours and earned maybe 100 xp.

I assume this means the drone is inactive most of the time.

Therefore, is there a way to choose WHEN the drone is active? How do I know when it is active?

On a side note, if drones are inactive for 90%+ of battle time then maybe there is no point buying one of the expensive ones?

Drones are passive so you don't need to activate them, instead they constantly use one battery per minute in battle and are activated through specific actions, you can find details of these on the Wiki.

If you have no batteries the drone will stop working.

If you want to stop using batteries the you need to unequip the drone.

and if someone with active brutus drone have 1%-15% extra defence

Brutus only gives a maximum of 10% defence.

The numbers already exists they just need to do the maths and add the extra defence you have with the drones.

If they do not show the extra defence from drones then why they show us the modules everyone has and their defence?

I do not find any reason behind this.

They show how much protection they have against a specific turret. That's all that really matters to the average player.

And then what if you have a drone equipped? Drones also give a % boost to your damage. If they're showing defence, they might as well show the damage increase, right? That is just unnecessary stuff on the screen to look at. And I think that that exercises player's attention spans and/or concentration on the battle and their allies/enemies. If you see that you're doing less damage to one enemy than another, they'll have it in their mind that "this enemy takes less damage" and act accordingly.

I assume this means the drone is inactive most of the time.

Therefore, is there a way to choose WHEN the drone is active? How do I know when it is active?

No, you can't choose when to activate your drone. When you equip your drone, it shows that it is ready to activate whenever its activation criterion is met.

On a side note, if drones are inactive for 90%+ of battle time then maybe there is no point buying one of the expensive ones?

The more expensive ones are always useful. The drone being inactive for 90% of the battle isn't from the drone itself, but the player. If the player is able to get into many situations where their drone will activate, then it will see increased uptime of its effects. Take for instance, the Trooper Drone. It gives you full supplies for 10 seconds at 0/20 or 20 seconds at 20/20 when you spawn. If the player is good enough, they can not die for the entire battle. But they would see that drone as a waste because they only got the effects from it once in a 7-minute battle. That's because they're not in any situations to activate the drone.

But take for instance, the Supplier Drone. That has a 10-second recharge, and what do you do to activate it? Run over supply boxes (excluding repair kits) or activate them manually and the effect will activate. This drone will see much more uptime than a Saboteur Drone or a Mechanic Drone.

The expensive ones all have their different activation criteria. Saboteur can only be used once every 40 seconds after the first activation, but look at what it can do at max-level. It can make bases entirely inaccessible in 2-3 minutes. With the Camper Drone, you need to wait 12 seconds after you respawn in order for your drone to activate. This drone is a drone that can potentially be active for the entire battle, yet it only "activated" once. And once is all you need if you can survive for long.

They are expensive because they are objectively more useful than some of the cheaper ones of what they can do, the mechanics they possess.

i tested a few drones today in the test servers... i found that every drone i used( booster, defender, assault) did not consume batteries continuously every minute.. instead,, the defender drone used up 1 battery when i pressed for DA and the booster drone also used up 1 battery when i pressed the button for DD or ran over a DD supply box ... assault drone used 1 battery after every kill ( if it was not deactivated/recharging) ,.. is this how all drones work now? i have not used one since several months. 5-6 months ago the assault drone consumed around 1 battery  in 1 minute for the entire time it was equipped  and killing enemies recharged active supplies but did not cause 1 battery to be consumed.

Hmm, I occasionally use my Defender Drone, and (at least in the real servers) it consumes 1 battery per minute as usual. Pressing Double Armor gives me the effect, but doesn't necessarily deduct one battery, which is good  :D

On the other hand, I don't activate Double Armor and the batteries deplete slowly anyway. So it works how it is supposed to be
