Booster is active only for 3 seconds, while defender is for 15 seconds. There is different way to debuff: time of duration, time of recharge, power and number of supplies consumed. I can't tell when booster is used, i ride a hornet so I die more than often, so booster or not that make no difference for me, that would be a waste of 3 double damage to be honest ?

NAH my friend used it all the time but now says it is useless with all these overdrives + it uses far to many repair kits when activated.

Actually - how often can that DA+ be applied with defender?  Recharge is 3s and reduction of DA cooldown is 10 seconds...

A lot, when i go into battle with defender i activate DD first then DA right after that then kick in a speed boost for good measure but it's all in vain if you come across a hornet with overdrive on....your toast.

Lifeguard would prevent that one-shot-kill from the hornet.

So how longer after the Defender bonus runs out can you apply again?

So now both of these are nerfed, especially the shock freeze which does anything but what it is supposed to do (it's now pathetic as i have proved on many tests with a good friend of mine) well balanced as usual, way to go devs you just keep nerfing all the stuff that are not defining game changers and leave the OP GOD MODE HORNET just the way it is.

Unbeatable in battle.I couldn't bring myself to pair it with vulcan/magnum.

Each time you manually activate any of the 5 supplies, it decreases the cooldown

Activating DA will decrease the smart cooldown to 20 seconds. Then you can activate speed boost and DD which would decrease the smart cooldown to 0, which means you'll have it available when the effect ends. 

 

More often, Defender users would use DD or SB before using DA depending on the situation In that case, you can use a mine to decrease the smart cooldown from 10 seconds to 0 seconds. Same with repair kit. This mechanic allows it to be acitvated many times in one life. 

 

 

At the moment, the effect lasts for half of the DA duration, 15 seconds. After the server restart, it will last for the entirety of the DA duration, 30 seconds.

IT'S STILL A CRAPPY NERF substituting armour for more time....very bad for defender users. VERY VERY BAD.

Defender nerf is total trash IMO... Increase of active time is worthless in a slaughterfest game like this is now. So many powerfull OD's, turrets & splash damage around it's unlikely you'll get use of 30 seconds the vast majority of time. Maybe in an easy walkover battle, but then why bother using Defender then anyway?

Massive nerf of a piece of equipment people put in a lot of effort or cash to own. Typical of this game now, it's as if they want to piss people off.

Interesting - less armor for more time.

Which do you think is better for capping flags?  Lifeguard or Defender?  Lifeguard definitely higher cost with 3x RK...

Well all i can say is all those that think nerfing defender is a plus ..........REALLY HOPE YOU RUN INTO NOTHING BUT HORNETS IN EVERY BATTLE YOU GO INTO TO. as always missing the big picture about why HORNET is still untouched yet everything else gets blasted to bits so its even easier cannon fodder for the hornet freaks.

After picking up the flag, the ball or capturing a control point gives the effect of Double Damage, Double Armor and Speed Boost for a short time and repairs the tank. 
That is a good way to get rid of stock pile of speed boost ?

well - you need to make it that far for it to work.  Defender or Lifeguard give you a better chance of making it TO the flag.

I dont find capping points in CP an issue.   I want something that really helps steal a flag or score a goal. 

Lifeguard is kinda anti-hornet, so there is that.   But 3x RK ... ?

agreed that hornet is broken... but a maxed out defender drone was equally as broken - it basically gave a mobile titan's dome for 15 seconds pre-nerf. This was definitely needed and it your anger is just because you had the drone pre-nerf and probably put a lot of resources into upgrading it to abuse this power it used to have. 

 

I was gonna get this drone anyway and if anything this change makes me want to get it more - I was doing just fine without it and now if it's gonna last the entire duration of my double armor, even better.

You would have used your supplies 2,3,4 and maybe 1, but getting away is more difficult IMO. Extra time with full health is better than a little life given by LifeGuard. Sprinter is less expensive in term of supplies consumption. Defender could do the job too.

Probably, so you can run to the next one. You get more point by capping more Cp, so it is better to leave the captured CP and get to another one quickly and healthy.

iv'e had it couple months and now its had 50% knocked off its armour so yeah im a bit miffed.LOL ABUSE  what about HORNET.

i used sprinter for a long time but now with hull alts it just isn't the same which is why i switched to defender,now that's been over nerfed im on the sidelines. I tested out defender today against 9 mines, i could take out 7 before 8th blew me up. i was hunter maxed out by way MK7. GONNA TEST IT AGAIN TOMORROW AFTER NERF.

Mines have a good bit of RNG to them. A lot of those mines may have done below average damage. If all mines did 1,800 damage, an Mk8 Medium hull would die from the 6th mine and an Mk8 heavy hull would die from the 9th mine. Using a repair kit while going over multiple mines placed next to each other in both instances will allow you to survive 3 more mines. 

 

With tomorrow's change, your Mk8 medium hull should survive 5 mines if all mines deal average damage. If you get lucky and some of the mines deal below average damage, you can survive 6 mines. Your Mk8 heavy hull should survive 7 mines. A repair kit will let you run over 2 more mines in each scenario.

Only testing out the drone before/after nerf i went over mines on 2 occasions same result. just done it again 1st attempt lasted 6 mines 2nd lasted 7 dont no why mines do not have a exact damage per mine but you are correct they are average which is a bit dumb really but there u go that's tanki for you.
