Why Tanki has lost players?

 Share

Recommended Posts

Hi,
I though I'd start this tread about why Tanki has lost so many players.

To me there is two major reasons:

Higher the rank, more boring is the game

In a good game a player should accomplish something and get a feeling of being successful.

Being successful mean different things for different players.  One may want have an OP equip and shred enemy to pieces.  One focus on being successful by relying on his/her skills in the game.  Skills including both handling of the hull and turret and also the tactical skills of how to play the game at each map and with each combo.

Unfortunately at higher ranks the game favours OP equip by the cost of skills of using the equipment.  That is seen by the increased number of fat hulls (mammoth / Titan) and by the increased use of drugs in the game.   That alianates majority of the players away from Tanki.

Losing control of own game

Tanki has introduced lots of changes lately.  I think the purpose of those changes has been to attract more paying players to get some revenue and earnings.  I believe these changes have made things worse.  Players have lost control of their own game.  Now you are just shifted from one battle to another.  Between battles you are in a "waiting" mode.  Short 10 min battle is really too short in this matchmaking mode.  Players will lose the social aspect of the game.  There really is no time to chat (or provoke) other players in a battle and make new friends in a battle, which was the case when fighting with same team several battles in the same map.

What is it you dont like in current Tanki?

The main reason is that Tanki is a very old browser game. Its fun, but many people prefer better graphics and newer games. Therefore, people leave, and not as many newcomers take their places.

Casual players can't afford supplies in addition to equipment and mission chains are a chore for them. Also needing a PRO pass to create maps.

After the update that introduced drones, the number of people online has drastically gone down. Right  now if i try to play there is only 2k people online. Better step up your game to help non buyers tanki, or else you will soon loose everyone.

Hmm, well
They probably moved on with other new popular games that their friend probably suggested/ invited.

Or

New updates that they don't like.

I liked the old 2012 and 2013 tanki.

twins, just twins, its spreading, you endlessly get beat by them, and end up buying one, thus continuing the cycle, even as a twins user myself, cos of this cycle, it needs a nerf, and the game needs to be advertised, or it wont survive

Well, People chose to move on from Tanki because they have to attend to real life. There's loads of other reason, but that's probably the biggest one.

Real life and New graphics

But See where TX got with high graphic's

The main reason for the player count decreasing is Real life

Most of the Old player's have grown up

And most child's play with their phone's

So we need Mobile Tanki ASAP

Since I joined in 2014, the only thing I've wanted was more maps. But Tanki doesn't like making new maps.

Now it looks like they're turning it into a noobified mobile game. Barf.

We don't need more maps, players already don't use 90% of them. Every pro game is island/sandbox/sepurhov.

That's the reason tanki has players. It can run on a potato computer, and requires no downloads, so people can be introduced to it with no hassle.

All that and they expect more money from their players then Sony does for games that they invest 100's of millions in.

I'm amazed how many will spend money here on outdated flash garbage

I think it's not about why people leave it's more about why it requires so much time to reach a decent rank with playable battles , so leaving this game is easier than joining the game , I think removing m0 M1 and m2 will save the players lot of useless battles that are meaningless and unbalanced, and emphasize more on improving the skills , rank brackets are still needed , this will increase competitiveness and number of players who join

You can still play Pro Battles. And please, don't tell me you can't afford to spend 4K on a pass for ONE month. With missions and week chain, it's easy to get crystals now.

Stop compaining about updates. The fact that a tanker doesn't have fun may be connected with updates to some part, but it is mostly lost interest on the game.

Think. If you have fun in tanki, you won't think critically about those updates, and just think that it is a good addition to the game. Maybe battle rewards were reduced. You would be sad for a bit but the next day you would be playing tanki, having so much fun.

Do new players complain about updates? No, they do not, maybe due to the fact that they don't know the game well, but mostly because they are having fun in this game.

Now you guys want tanki to go to 2014. Tanki would have gone bankrupt and died, or even if it didn't, you guys would have quit. I mean, who wants a game without 4 years of updating???

I think tanki is doing their best to live up to other games, they have a disadvantage from the start, they have a small player base.

I think they are trying to do their best to not get bankrupt, pay all their employees, while helping us have fun.

Tanki is not really pay to win, when you finish doing all the struggles before getting drugs and tanks, with daily missions, it is really not p2w.

Paying just buys time, that you would wait for daily mission chains.

I know this is very messed up, but I hope you guys get the point.

The problem is that some updates made the game less fun. Crippled balance, removal of variety, introduction of frustrating mechanics, etc.

To be perfectly honest, I don't like drones. They seem weak, complicated and ridiculously expensive. I wouldn't hate to see them removed and replaced with something simpler, after all, tanki is supposed to be a simple game.

My problem is that they are superfluous. They add literally nothing to the game. Only players with plenty of crystals to spare can afford to use them constantly. For everyone else the cost is just not worth the benefit. It seems a lot like a P2W situation, even if the benefits from the drones are relatively minor.

Tanki online is reforming itself before it can push out to advertisers again. I believe the whole goal is making tanki competitive in the gaming industry.

Dont worry tanki has a future ahead of it.

I'd love for this game to become mainstream. I dont think I've played a lot of games where growth in skill can grow over time as much as here. A vet who has played 400 hours can destroy a new player because he has put in 400 hours of game.
