The stupidest sight in tanki today

It's literally a valid strategy, as said by developers and players multiple times in many places. Gold boxes are supply, and they give you an advantage in battles, albeit not in a direct way like the other supplies.

 

I used golds myself like this a few times, and in some cases it actually worked.

I know it's technically a strategy but it's really sad. All my team all ran to find the gold and left the flag exposed.

A Gold Box can be used to make a difference between victory or defeat. Period. Your team chose to.... so it's their fault.

True, but it ended up as a draw in the end (because of my skillz). On the other side was a tanker who always gloats at the end of battles if his team wins (telling people to run etc... typical buyer attitude) so revenge was sweet.

Stupidest thing? When I come in with my MUed M2 Shaft and Short-Band emitters and start crushing the opponent, and almost my whole team takes their M0 shafts that they've never played with before and that don't have an alt, and expect to start winning too...

Ha, the most number of players I've seen do that on my team in this situation is 2 players. Usually, they're M1.

At your rank? That's bad to use M1's :) In this, exactly 5 players switched on my team of 7 but one was smart and changed back...

Alexandrovsk CTF today, I was on the red base by the flag.

A Hornet Railgun came over the ramp and landed just in front of our flag, whereupon I took him out with a blast of Plasmagun, and placed a mine a few feet from the flag, right where he, or anyone else, would land.

Sure enough within a minute he was back, took off, landed, boom, gone.  So I placed another mine.
And it was the same result - he took off, landed, boom, gone.  I didn't even have to fire.
The best bit?  He kept doing that, regular as clockwork - every time he spawned there he was, flying, boom, gone.
Dunno how many times I killed him the same way in that one battle but it was comical.  Wile-E-Coyote in Hornet form.

If at first you don't succeed....... it's not working, so give it up. :lol:

Sandal CP Blue. When I spawned in, the battle had been going on for 1 minute 45 seconds, approximately.  Score was 4 - 0 red's favor. All the CPs were red and red was spawn killing blue. I'd sure like to know what blue was doing at the very beginning of battle. The scenario I envision is blue is playing TDM from base, all huddled together and the 3 red freezes froze everyone which made them even easier targets for the rest of red team.

Hmmm... my alt was in a game almost exactly like that recently... same map... same campers.  it's just stupid.

 

I blame the Challenge/Stars for this mess.

I were playing with m1/m2 WO3 against brigadiers and was first with 200 score while everyone barely got 50, too bad i forgot to screenshot

I just played a Highways TDM battle where the highest ranks were three Brigadiers and the lowest rank were two WO3s. Man, the rank brackets in MM are demoralising sometimes. A player who would be playing with M1 equipment playing with players who most likely have M3 equipment.

Yeah, Mods say that if Tanki had a larger player base that wouldn't happen. With the present player base, players would have to wait a much longer period of time than they do now. As a Captain with M1 (barely) equipment, I was playing against Marshals and occasionally Field Marshals.

And I say so what.

Faster horrible battles are way, way worse than slower quality battles.

 

How about they just let some battles start 6 vs 6 instead of giving the lower rank players the shaft?

6 vs 6 on Sandbox?  Sign me up!

I know you keep up with the forums, so I'm sure you have seen players complaining about waiting time as it is. If that was extended, there would be even more complaints. When the waiting time gets to 1:30 I click out of the queue and go to another battle mode or wait 15 to 20 seconds before clicking on that battle mode again. Either way, I'm back in a queue.

Why do players so often play TDM and ignore the objective? I've been in CP battles where all the cps were in the opposing team color and none of the other team bothered to change them. They go to the enemy base, play TDM, get killed, respawn and back to the enemy base, going right by and right through the cps, but never stopping to change them. 

A lot of the time, there are players not playing the battles they want, because they're looking for mission requirements.  Maybe you've got the combo play 3 CP's and also need 25kills.... you go in and treat it like TDM and you're going to get close to solving both problems.  That doesn't make it right, its just an observation.  

 

Second observation is that if your team is getting completely hammered, a lot seem to give up and just salvage whatever they can in the way of kills and trying to stay alive....

Yup , I don't even bother staying to see how thats going to pan out. Just vote with my tank treads and roll off to the next battle.  At present on my regular playing account I won't bother playing against anyone with any strange icons...  it means m3 equipment.. and spawn die results.. Theres so many insta kill variants out there now its not worth trying, just pull up stumps and try again,

Because stars is such a big feature, now, I don't stick around to be the target at target practice and end up with 0 stars for all my efforts, stress, name calling at my monitor (my dog covers his ears) and pounding on the desk (my dog leaves the room with his ears covered, shaking his head). Nope, ain't worth it. CLICK!!

But once I get into a battle and want to continue on in that mode, then I'll click continue and most times I'm in the next battle in about 15 seconds or less. If I choose quick battle mode, it takes anywhere from 10 seconds to 30 seconds.

If I don't get placed in a battle by 45 seconds I will click out and try again.  So I wait ~ half as long as you do.

 

About 75% of the time I get a battle within 20 seconds of the 2nd attempt.
