The star week needs a change.

Recommended Posts

If these star weeks absolutely have to stay then at least reduce the duration from one week to only a few days.

And the player with the most stars at the end of the event gets the featured item. Everyone else can get containers.

Or make it only happen a few times a year.

Because they devalue the big event sales like Halloween with sales of their own to the point that it's just a routine.

They ruin the game economy with all the prizes and sales.

They happen too frequently to the point that everyone are just sick and tired of the events.

It doesn't even bring in more players, it's the exact opposite since newbies just quit the game for the rest of the week. And the next weakest players become the newbies.

All of these are valid points.

I see what you mean, but this isn't something we can determine without having the actual data which developers have access to. You know that I decline ideas for adding more events and giving more free stuff, because it doesn't take a degree in economics to know that such a change will worsen the economy and everything else you mentioned. However, if developers decided to have these events happen so often, then they probably did the research and found out that this strategy actually does help keep players interested and benefits the economy. For this reason I don't see any point in accepting ideas like this.

For you, as a player, there is no benefit from this idea. If you don't like these events - ignore them and play normally as if there is no event. But there's no reason why you would want to have less double battle funds or fewer sales.

You are a buyer? I don't hate buyers, but I hate buyers who always think about only himself. Listen to me, we will never give a buck to this game so we NEED MORE EVENTS. It is fun when you kill a tank that has no supply, no micro upgrade? It is fun when you kill a non-buyer? I don't think it is fun.

I live in Turkey and If I want to buy a ''1500 Supplies kit'', I have to work for a week. Is this even fair? Many people cannot even make a good living, you are only able to meet your mandatory needs. While this happens, how do you expect us to buy things from shop?

Some buyers actually like this event.

Hell, they can even buy the easy stars pass.

There's no real difference between buyers and non buyers here.

The real split is between casual players ( those who player just to complete one mission a day) and no lifers (those who play 24/7)

Obviously the casual players are going to be against star week because they won't be able to complete their one mission as fast as usual which makes it inconvenient for them.

The no lifers will either love it or won't care because let's be real, they have all the time in the world.

Next time do some thinking before you reply ;)

I think that they should make star week every week.. and to compensate the economy they can remove deaily missions. this way people will be encouraged to play more instead of playing less for a better exp:crystal ratio

Make a special star battle mode for players lower than  so they simply play with other no-lifers...

Low ranks are the worst problem and higher ones are somewhat "90% bad" instead of 100

You just thought of the perfect way to cut the player base in half.  I'm sure match-Maker will work even better with less players.

Congratulations!

get rid of half the player base which manipulates missions to get mega buyer level equipment for free by playing just enough to complete one mission a day

keep the other half of the player base which plays a lot more... and make them play 10x more than what they usually play

while the amount of people who play might decrease, the people who remain will be playing a lot more. and what matters is how many people are online at the time and not how many different people play the game 5 minutes a day

It's no secret that you don't have a life, which is probably why you're supporting those who play 24/7.

But like wolverine said, if you make it less friendly for casual players, then there goes half the already withering player base. Which also doubles the waiting time.

as i already explained, making people play for a longer time each day will decrease waiting times. getting rid of those who only play 5 minutes a daywon't cause a lot of harm as compared to making other players spend double the amount of their time playing the game

You have it all backward.

The number of players that play 1 hr / day or less = HUGE.

The number of players that take advantage of missions = very small

You can't "make players play..." - that is a fools errand.

Any system designed to "force" players to double their playing time will fail - those players (like me) will just quit.

If we "casual" players quit, Match-Making will collapse.

Tanki will die but those playing a dead game would be equal and will spend even more money -> "everyone is happy"

These game economics and balances are HARD!  Wow, their's a lot of different ideas and angles of perspective in this topic.  Personally, I agree with DieselPlatinum in the way he describes how there are too many star weeks in that the sales are to big and they take away excitement from the big holidays like Halloween and Christmas and all the sales and stuff that go along with these.

But hear me out... When there is a star week, you try to finish in a high finishing position to get your 3 stars or whatever.  To finish top player you have to drug.  In star week there's more containers and supplies given out, so everyone is earning more drugs and all given the opportunity to drug lots to get lots of stars.  So really, that part of it is quite balanced, fair, practical, and fun.  And who doesn't like opening containers!? Lol
