Don't know about you guys but I'd estimate that 90% of my battles these past few days had the Winter theme.

 

I noticed this because I usually play during the night and the bright white of the ground has the most  negative effect on my concentration as it's extra brightness being taken into my eyes. 

Ok, I've been getting more "Day Theme" battles now. Much appreciated.

It becomes really bad when that rank bracket passes through 2 tiers of equipment. That guy has M0s and is going up against possible M3s. That must have been a sight to behold for him.

I have to wonder what the point of calling it matchmaking was. It's very clearly just a more restrictive quick battle button. If it were matchmaking you wouldn't join already made battles in the middle or at the very end when you can't do anything. Even with it's "simplified" ui it still takes a minute or so to join a battle, so it's not quicker than the battle list ever was (or wasn't). It's the classic case of "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" and I feel empathetic to anyone who's genuinely new to the game wondering why the matchmaking keeps sending them into active battles against people who clearly aren't new to the game (but that's another can of worms, one I'm guilty of as well).

Had many "discussions" with Little Willie about this when MM first came out.  It was never faster or simpler than the battle list.

 

LW kept defending MM, but had no concrete platform to stand on.  The evidence showed the defense to be a sand-castle at high-tide.

Careful there, you might bruise the devs' egos. If you sweep them off their feet with basic logic and reasoning they reeeee and lock your topic for suggesting their idea might've been bad and it was better before they left their diarrhea skid mark on the game.

Yes MM is balanced - it matches the amount of active players on one side and with an equal amount of mults on the other.

lol, you are not a mult for sure as the opposite team only add one mult.

Nah, they won't be phased at all, as this been said and wrote here many time. Why would they wait that long to be bruised. They have tough Russian skin you know, it goes with the tough weather.

Never. Ever. Choose a top 3 mission if you're in late hours. The only way to do it is DM and DM at late hours is literally legend world with 9m queue times. I barely scraped by 2 matches out of 3 as exactly 3rd because my isida on @UAV1997 is at 17/20.

Oh and also literally just leave the match if you see 2-3 rapidfire shafts because it's completely broken.

And... same maps over and over.   Come on - with 30+ maps in the pool I should not be seeing repeats of maps as often as I am.

 

I just exit the battles now - not good for me and not good for the team I left.

And again I say it; This isn't matchmaking. It doesn't create matches and if it did and was done competently it would have way more than Molotov, Barda, Massacre, and Bridges. Matchmaking is designed to keep things like imbalance and stale map choice from happening.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but creating something to "balance your wins and losses" sounds much, much harder than creating something to "create consistently fair battles". 

 

The former sounds like it has the possibility for ~50% of the population to have their wins and losses more or less balanced, while the other two ~25%'s either have way more wins than losses or way more losses than wins.

When I have a long range turret equipped.

 

No one:

 

Matchmaking: puts me in a small map.

 

 

When I has short range turret equipped.

 

No one:

 

Matchmaking: puts me in a large map.

Went to their ratings profile, and 9I_3A_MUP_HA_3EMJIE and nagibator-26.04 are some of those low ranked accounts that just sit around waiting for a Gold Box/Container to drop.

I've been playing ASL to try to finish up one of the Demolition War tasks, and I always get put in Osa, which is NOT an easy map to attack in.

When i have a melee turret equipped

 

No one:

Still no one:

Matchmaking: Puts me into a Red Alert match, which is NOT easy to play with a melee turret in.

Me: Switches to ricochet

 

On @Zekrom account:

Me: Equips fire and wasp

Me 20 seconds later: Joins JGR match

Matchmaking: doesn't let me into the battle and says: You have been removed from the battle for inactivity

Me: Joins another JGR match

Matchmaking: Puts me into Massacre

Me: Burns the JGR

Juggernaut: Kills me

Tryhard Fire and Wasps: Trys to kill JGR

Me: Becomes JGR at the last second before I respawn

Former JGR: Nani?

Me: Dies within 10 seconds

Still me: HACKS! HACKS!

Matchmaking: Gives me 1 star

Me: Matchmaking

Y U NO GIVE ME 2 STAR??

Me: Joins Wolfenstein JGR (I think)

Still me: Finds my friend AIRPRO again

Me: Goes tryhard mode

Matchmaking: Gives me no star

Me: One more battle, pls? 

Still me: Joins JGR battle 1 more time

Matchmaking: Puts me in Rio

Me: Goes back to Fire Wasp (I was Striker Hunter M0)

Matchmaking: Gives me 1 star

Me: Ok, I need 2 more stars, before I end this month's challenge

Still me: Joins 1 more battle

Matchmaking: Puts me in Magistral

Me: Kills tryhard JGR wannabes

Juggernaut: Kills me

Me: Kills all of the noobs, including a tryhard third lieutanaut

Matchmaking: Gives me 2 stars

Me: FINALLY! I've got it! Badger-badger paint! And 5000 CRYSTALS? I could use that to MU my Hunter to M1 on tankers day! YES! 

Me 10 seconds later: This looks DOPE!

Just came from 3 MM matches. All losses, two being blowouts.

 

First match was.... actually kinda fun!  :o It was a Yorkshire CTF, (blue team); The other team was stronger than us, but we still managed to cap a flag and hold them off. We would have capped another flag, but some pathetic little Dictator/Gauss decided that he deserved the flag for his "efforts" (probably for some stupid mission). The other team attacked at the same time and we all died. 

 

Second match was an Industrial Zone CTF (red team) and was already underway with the other team capping 2 flags by the time we arrived. It was a blowout with a hacking Wasp/Magnum. Fun /s

 

Third match was a Tribute CTF (blue team). Other team was full of railguns and shafts, and that's not very good when you're on the blue team, because you have no places to camp yourself. I had a meh team, I in fact didn't do very well because I'm a wasp freeze. Several golds dropped in the battle and my gold digging teammates immedetly break all defence and rush to the little boxes. (To be fair there was a container gold and I went for that one but I didn't get it, as usual  -_-) Complete blowout, I think it was 0-5.

 

After that I was about to enter another battle when I realized that this was exactly what Hazel's intent was. I logged out immediately afterward because I don't want to fall into the trap.

But the purpose of a normal MatchMaking system is to balance battles.... talk about false advertising!

 

Meanwhile Krunker.io has no MM system and the dev team has only 1-2 devs, yet is MORE FUN than Tanki, and is getting recognition as a popular esport. Go check their Reddit (they don't have a forum), there's hardly any complaint posts! Compare it with here, where most people don't like the "improvements" that Hazel and his crew have done. 

 

Don't give me the "tanki is 10 years old" excuse, because with a competitive meta based on skill and teamwork rather than consumables and gimmicky mechanics you'd find in a cheap mobile game. With advertising? This game could EASLY crush Krunker.io into smithereens, but only with a meta that rewards skill, not how many overdrives/drones/drugs you use.

It's a shame the devs have such fragile egos. Because if they didn't they'd see the absolute cold truth that this was completely pointless and their system sucks. I don't blame them, I'd be embarrassed too if I failed this spectacularly.
