Right when I thought that the Matchmaking system was slowly fixing its problem of making battles with ridiculous rank spreads (they've declined in frequency), I found a WARRANT OFFICER 3 in a battle, on my Legend account.

That moment when he has more shaft % than the dude above him but almost same score, lowkey a spender spender or a wise f2p spender.

TO has really bad matchmaking system(im just  promotion third lieutenant ı am playing with  generals this guys has 6-7 k gear score against my 3 HA HA HA), when ı leave the game 6 years ago, TO was better. in 6 years no progress in game. at least at 2014 TO isn't P2W. right now its tooo P2W. ı afraid ı leave my favourite game again because of you..

2014 TO was gold compared to what we have now. If you have just returned after a long pause, I advise you to not even bother... there are better alternatives out there that don't drain your wallet.

There's some sort of a problem with MM which have been around for awhile now, the developers are aware of it.

He is talking about Seymon Kirov, who used to be part of the Tanki Online team. He was the Community Manager (contact person between developers and playerbase) of the game for a long period. Sadly he left Tanki Online and Alternativa Platforms in early 2016 after which Cedric (yet another ex-CM) took his role over (https://en.tankiforum.com/topic/313088-important-announcement-from-semyon/). 

There is a forum topic that is about speculating the whereabouts of Seymon: https://en.tankiforum.com/topic/385297-what-is-semyon-kirov-up-to-now/. However since he left us 5 years ago it's best to let the case rest.

The game is mostly garbage now. When the buyers eventually get bored, the game will shut down.

If it isn't intentional, then it might just be a consequence of having more players at higher ranks, especially Legends, than players at lower ranks

(I'm a slow ranker / loiterer; I try to earn less than 10K XP per week per account and have four active accounts on a [ rank n ] [ rank n + 1 ] [ rank n + 2 ] [ rank n + 3 ] spread)

Longer waiting times to bundle up the minority of lower ranked players would help, but more new players would be better

But this isn't a rare sight these days: balanced ranks but imbalanced GS

Only 5 players in that battle, including me, had a GS that I consider competitive for their rank

But four of them were on my team and the one on the other team was only a Brigadier

To get good mm I usually would play in the mornings and would not go past mid afternoon. This is because there are usually more people online making mm more flexible. I don't know but it works for me since in the morning when i leave a battle with overpowered people, I get put in a better one with weaker people. At night, It usually just keeps putting me with 9000+ gs players. Anyways, that just a quick word of advice, nothing serious.

They are doing the opposite - and it's intentional.

They keep increasing the rank-spreads when there are fewer players online.  Supposedly it is preferential to have a short wait time even if the battles are absolute crap.  I don't believe it but that's what they've said.

You can't drop gold boxes in private battles, Tanki: it's bug

Honestly many of my golds have wasted as I dropped them in public battles, one or two entering the battle and took some of them

Nah... they've openly said the wide rank-spreads are intentional.

Honestly this is why a battle list is far superior to MM in this sense, you pick and choose the battles you want to play. Moreover, 7 min. battles are way too short for any meaningful strategy - which is partially why the game feels so meaningless and futile these days.
